The Villain's Little Cat

Chapter 340: Hidden Mission

"They really try to watch us?" Jake was stupefied. He never thought that there would be anyone who would be interested in listening in to his conversation with others.

"High ranked awakened are very strong and also the major forces for many people no matter where they are." Kyle was not surprised with this kind of treatment. When he went on missions in the past, he always had to check the location where he was staying to prevent any camera to be installed.

But he didn’t know whether he was so unlucky that he would locate several cameras, voice spyware, and others.

It was to the point that Kyle understood that because he was not only good at his mission but also because of his research that these people were aiming at him. Even if they couldn’t catch him, they wished they could at least see his notes and could pry into the secret in his head.

For Kyle, being wary wherever he went had long become a habit.

When these giant mutated animals first appeared, the electronic system in almost every places were forced to shut down and discarded.

Thus, Kyle didn’t care that much.

But now that the civilization had slowly returned, he had to start being more careful. In his moves to avoid people from being able to pry into his secrets or the people who were close to him.

They were technically saver in City E because his father was the one in main control.

But when they were in other cities, especially place like City CA that was controlled by another high ranked awakened, they had to be very careful. Their secret could be leaked out without they noticed.

"Damn! I never thought that reaching rank 7 meant that I’ll be under watch." Jake was stupefied.

He was usually just being happy with his improvement.

Without him knowing, he had been included in the few figures that had to be watched by many other people.

The others glanced at him and then looked away once more.

They knew that it would be useless to talk to Jake either way.

"You don’t have to worry. Just remember to stop saying everything in front of others." Lotte patted Jake’s head and smiled, just like coaxing a child.

Jake’s lips twitched.

Why did he feel that Lotte was like his mother right now?

Kyle shook his head. "Go to your respective room. If there’s anything, you know what to do."

"Yes!"

They no longer delayed and rushed to their respective room.

Kate looked at the room and nodded in satisfaction when she saw that the bed was big and fluffy. She jumped down from Kyle’s arm and landed on the bed, inspecting the area curiously just like how a dog would mark their territory.

<You’re a cat and not a dog> Kyle’s lips twitched slightly, but he still conversed with Kate using their blood contract.

<I know.> Kate raised her head and looked at Kyle curiously. <You wouldn’t come here if you didn’t have any purpose, right? We can just camp outside in the wilderness and set up night guard instead of stopping here> n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om

<My dad had some information that had to be transferred personally, so I need to borrow your ability for a while to head to the location. Can you show me the map of the city?>

The shared ability was one rank lower than the others.

Kate’s two abilities had reached rank 8, which meant that Kyle himself could use up to rank 7 of both healing and space element. In rank 7 space element, Kyle could already use teleportation.

But the range was a bit lower than Kate.

Not to mention, they were brought directly to the hotel and it was late at night. Kyle was not entirely sure about where he had to find that person aside from the fact that he was given the address.

<Tell me where you want to go.>

<It’s…>

Kate closed her eyes and spread her space element to the surroundings. The power of the space element allowed her to map the entire district where they were staying without even disturbing the people who lived there.

Kate meowed and took out a paper and ink. Using her paw, she drew a simple map and marked the place where they were located using O and the place where Kyle wanted to go with X.

<There are a strange equipment placed on this building. When I use the space element, I feel that it’s transmitting signal, which I had blocked with my space element. But I don’t know whether they will realize it.>

<I’ll be back in a second.>

Kyle smiled and activated the teleport ability.

In terms of teleportation, Kyle was much better than Kate because his spatial awareness was much better than hers. At the very least, there wouldn’t be the case of losing their way because Kate couldn’t remember the map correctly.

Swish!

Appearing on the alleyway, Kyle looked at the wall in front of him and lightly knocked on it until he bumped into something that sounded a bit different.

He stretched his hand and tore the surface apart, showing the flash disk that was hidden within the gap of the bricks and covered by the layer of paper with the same color as the wall.

Kyle took the flash disk and put it into the space before teleporting back into the hotel.

The entire process didn’t even take 30 seconds.

<It’s done.>

<Should I release that thing or just destroy the equipment?>

<I believe that Professor Bale will be looking for me for compensation should I destroy more of his equipment.>

The spyware within this floor can be destroyed at will because they could understand that these high ranked awakened didn’t want to be watched.

But other equipment in the building?

That might be a bit too much.

Though, Kyle himself was not afraid of trouble.

<What is this item used for?> Kate looked at Kyle before she decided whether to just destroy it or let it transmit the signal that had been trapped in her contained space.
