The Villain's Little Cat

Chapter 141

141 Check Up

The only earth element awakened person they knew was General Ryou, but it would be impossible to ask Kyle’s uncle to follow them in their mission.

Thus, this thought only flashed for a very brief moment before being completely forgotten.

For the next week, all of them were busy taking the rest of the gems and crystals inside Kate’s space. At the same time, they would also participate a bit in the extermination of these giant mutated ants.

Thanks to these gems and crystals, Dylan had also reached rank 5 and Lotte also came overnight, asking for hers. Even though she eventually only ended up as peak rank 4 in both wind and wood elements, she was still very satisfied.

In the short one week, Jake managed to advance a minor rank and then used the next metal gem, which allowed him to advance another minor rank.

Kyle himself had reached rank 5 with 3 minor advancement in fire element and rank 5 with 1 minor advancement for lightning element. It was a very fast growth for him that even Kyle was pleasantly surprised.

Though, he had used the last two gems available for him, so he would have to search for more if he wanted to.

On the other hand, Kate had reached rank 6 with 2 minor advancements in her space element and had reached rank 5 with 5 minor advancements in her healing abilities. She could be said to be the one with the highest rank among all of them.

And the healing abilities were so perverted that Kate could technically reattach a broken limb.

.....

This made the others felt somewhat numb.

Anyway, with Kate happily absorbing the white dots from these giant mutated ants during the past week, it was estimated that countless giant mutated ants were dead because of her. The white dots would be absorbed by her most of the time but if there were any leftover, she would just hand it to Kyle.

Perhaps, it was what made Kyle could advance faster?

Kate didn’t know.

“The use of the gems is lesser and lesser the higher we are.” Jake sighed deeply. He thought that he would be able to advance two minor advancement like before, but it seemed that it was nothing more than a pipe dream.

Dylan glanced at Jake. He and Lotte only had two gems while Jake and Kyle had three gems. This allowed the two of them to reach higher than him. However, he also noticed that even with the same number of gems, Kyle was still faster than Jake.

Was there anything called natural aptitude?

“The giant mutated ants are almost wiped out. Let’s return to City B and take a short break before taking another mission.” Kyle finally decided. Rather than tiring themselves out because of this mission, they should just take a short break. Anyway, they still have a lot of crystals that they hadn’t used yet.

“Got it.” Jake grinned. He thought of the recent news in the radio and snickered. “If that Mr. Yuri were to know that he was not the fastest rank 5, I wonder what his expression would be.”

Just four days ago, the radio stated that Mr. Yuri had successfully advanced to rank 5, declaring himself as the strongest awakened present.

But at that time, Dylan had also reached rank 5.

That meant, Mr. Yuri was at the very least the fifth person to reach rank 5. As for why 5, that was because they also counted Little Kitty. Kate and Kyle technically advanced to rank 5 when they were still in the previous mission.

That was at least one week before this announcement.

So, Mr. Yuri was late by a week’s time.

“That’s because we have some resources that we can use.” Kyle shook his head. “In the end, the number of these gems are limited and it’ll depend on who’s fastest and luckiest to be able to obtain them.”

“True enough.”

Lotte stretched her hand. She was tired after facing these giant mutated ants. Honestly, she never thought of going here again if not for Jake flaunting that he had already reached rank 5 after taking another gem.

She rushed overnight and asked for her share.

Hmph!

At least, let her grew stronger too!

“We’re going back today.”

“Okay.”

The others had no opinion and agreed.

...

Kyle returned earlier and saw his father was already waiting for him at home. Since he was only participating as an ordinary member, there was no need for him to file another troublesome report.

Because of that, Kyle headed home directly.

“Father.” Kyle greeted and his eyes paused a bit on his father. At this moment, he was certain that his father had already reached rank 5 because of the oppressive power that he could sense. It seemed that those who had reached rank 5 would be able to recognize each other when they were nearby.

He would have to be more careful in the future.

“You’re back.” General Ryan nodded at his son. His eyes then landed on the sleeping little cat in Kyle’s arm. “She’s already over 3 months old but still loved to sleep a lot?”

“Apparently so.” Kyle shrugged helplessly.

“Put her on the bed first, I have a few things to talk with you.”

“Got it.”

The way they treated Kate was just like she was a daughter in this house. But neither General Ryan nor Kyle felt that it was strange. For them, this little cat had long become part of their family.

After Kyle tucked Kate on her pillow bed and also put the blanket on, he went to his father’s study room.

“Mr. Yuri’s backing is not going to be so pleased with what had happened.” General Ryan looked at his son. “It’s estimated that they might want to try putting on pressure on us and the other generals from other cities.”

Kyle arched his eyebrows. “Do you want me to do something?”

He was no longer a little kid who only know how to create trouble without cleaning up the mess behind him. He knew very well that since his father said this to him, there was something that General Ryan wanted him to do.

“During this mission, there are giant mutated animals raiding City D. At this moment, City D is in turmoil and because the general was not present, he had been rushing back this morning. Dylan’s mother is requesting for you to take a mission to find her niece who’s staying in City D.”

Kyle paused. He looked at his father sharply. “You want me to stay away from the dispute you have?”

“I have no other choice but to do this.” General Ryan spread his hand. “You can’t expect me to let you stay here and kill those people when they come, can I?”

Kyle’s eyes were filled with ruthlessness. Facing his father, Kyle really wanted to say that he could solve it without using violence, but in the end, he didn’t say anything.

City D is a water city.

It should be the perfect place for them to find another gem for Dylan so that he could also grow stronger faster.

However, Kyle didn’t really want to leave.

“If things are not settled when I returned, don’t blame me for doing things with my own way.” Kyle turned to look at his father deeply before turning around and slammed the door on his way out.

General Ryan looked at the door and sighed deeply. He hoped that those people could be reasonable and didn’t pester them too much.

...

In the morning, Kate woke up and found Kyle was still sleeping. She stretched her body and then jumped to the bed that was right beside her. Kyle always positioned the chair right beside his bed so that she could jump over whenever she wanted to.

Kyle’s hair was messy and partially covered his forehead. Kate stretched her paw and lightly brushed his hair before poking his forehead.

“Meow.”

Kyle felt the comfortable pressure and opened his eyes. He could see the little cat that was holding his forehead and called him. He laughed lightly. “Little Kitty, that’s not the correct way to wake your father up.”

“Meow!”

Kate hissed and then jumped down the bed. With a poof, she turned into a little kid and ran out of the room.

“Little Kitty, brush your teeth first!” Kyle called out but the little cat eared kid had already ran out. He shook his head and felt that he should begin to teach that little kitty about cleanliness more in the future.

In the kitchen, General Ryan saw Kate ran over and laughed happily. “Little Kitty, have you brushed your teeth yet?”

Kate was stunned and then shook her head.

After being a cat for almost two months, who could still remember this old habit. In the end, General Ryan dragged Kate to the bathroom and helped her to brush her teeth. The motion felt somewhat unfamiliar with this small body, but Kate soon remembered it and could brush her teeth by herself.
