The world shook as all the Masters of the Solaris Kingdom came to realize that their opponent was a profound master of light!

Some exquisitely well-timed laser emerged from Rui in very precise directions, knocking three light-maneuverers right out of the air, flinging them out of the battle arena, disqualifying all of them. "Master Dren, Sinta, and Solin are disqualified," the invigilating Sage announced.

Many of the defensive Masters used the pressure of electromagnetic radiation as a shield to protect themselves and their allies from the redirected light.

And yet, it was not enough.

A smile emerged on Rui's face as a chilling remark escaped him.

"This only works against unpolarized light."

BOOOM BOOOM BOOOM!!!!!

Rui unleashed an onslaught of polarized light, light that only oscillated in one plane, allowing him to bypass the defenses of his opponents. They didn't even understand why their attacks failed.

And yet, they didn't have the time to.

BOOOM BOOOM BOOOM!!!!!

"Arrghh!"

They cried in pain as the sheer intensity of Rui's light burned their flesh off, rendering them unable to even fight. n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om

"Master Nex, Cara, Silian, Nemei, and Kenta are disqualified."

BOOOOOOM!!! The offensive Martial Masters watched as Rui haplessly shot their light-bending maneuvers out of the sky while he blasted through the shields of the defensive Masters like they were made up of paper.

He did this while simultaneously absorbing and redirecting their power with Omni-Prism while simultaneously fighting off the Radiant's terrifying Wrath of Solaris with Double Slit Defense.

He fought dozens of Martial Masters simultaneously.

Not a single person witnessing the battle could even begin to fathom what they were witnessing.

Apart from Amare, of course, who cheered him on enthusiastically, clapping every time he disqualified a Master.

The Martial Masters in the spectator stands who had come, hoping to witness their proud and mighty sol Martial Masters defeat and humiliate the cursed heretic who had the audacity to participate in a light contest against the Masters of the Solaris Kingdom.

And yet, instead of that, they witnessed a man who was nothing short of the embodiment of light itself.

They witnessed a man who had gained profound and godly mastery over light.

Their jaws dropped as he effortlessly shot Masters who had dedicated their lives to maneuvering with the power of light while demolishing the mighty defenses of high-grade Masters, all while doing so with the power that he absorbed from their offensive ranged Masters.

A single question radiated through all their minds universally.

"How…? How is this possible…?"

How was it possible for an outsider to not only face off against dozens of the most powerful Masters of the Solaris Kingdom but also dominate all of them simultaneously?

That, too, in a light contest, which was their specialty and a field in which he was supposed to have no mastery over?!

While the Masters were entirely lost on the answers to these questions, the Sages were not nearly as lost or shaken.

"He has a deep foundation in his theoretical understanding of light," Queen Lianiala was the first of all the Sages to arrive at the truth. "I don't know how, but he understands the very fundamental nature of how light works, what its variables and factors are, and what kind of phenomena it produces. I daresay he has a greater understanding of this high principle than most of our Sages."

She directed a sharp gaze at Sage Dawlish, who simply bore witness to the battle with a dumbfounded expression.

"He has exploited the fundamental flaws in our Masters's light techniques that are everpresent due to their lack of a fundamental understanding of light as a phenomenon," the Golden Guardian observed. "However, this is not just a product of knowledge but also great creativity. Prior to this battle, I did not know that these powerful solutions against our Masters even existed in the first place. We will have to rectify these fundamental flaws in our Martial Artists after this contest. We cannot allow such deep weaknesses to continue."

Queen Lianiala nodded. "He has done a great service to our nation by highlighting these flaws in a harmless contest. Had an enemy exploited these flaws in war, then…"

Her voice trailed off.

She didn't need to complete her statement. Just thinking about what could have happened sent chills down their spine.

Sage Dawlish gritted his teeth with humiliation. "But just his knowledge and creativity alone does not explain why he is so absurdly strong! Knowledge and creativity are not enough by themselves! Why does he have such extraordinarily deep mastery over light?! Why does he wield light as though he has done nothing else his entire life? Why does he have such profoundly smooth techniques, as though he had used each of them millions of times?!"

He voiced the sheer shock that many others felt within them as they watched the Void Prince expertly bend light unlike anything they had ever seen from any Master in the history of their nation.

"ENOUGH!" Pure fury emerged on the Radiant's face. "HOW DARE YOU HUMILIATE ME?! LET ME SHOW YOU MY FULL POWER!!!"

Much to the shock of everyone, the Radiant shifted the Wrath of Solaris away from Rui and to himself.

Unbeknownst to Rui, this man had already consumed the Blood of Solaris in the past.

And thus, he absorbed the power of his own extraordinary attack, shining with blinding brightness.
