Soul for a Girlfriend?

Yesterday I talked with Kizhashi about my ordeal with Shiraishi while walking back home with her. A pretty weird thing also happened but I didn't think she would tell anyone about it so I didn't talk further about it with her.

Even though it was quite weird that Shiraishi hasn't made any sort of contact with me after that day. She might have a few loose screws which will later be problematic for me so I would have to look out for them.

It was our library period but our librarian wasn't present that day so we got a period off and everyone was busy with their own thing. The noise of chatter was surrounding me as some students were not even in the class.

I was standing near the doorway, gazing at the hallway as students from other classes would pass by frequently. I was quite determined to talk with Shiraishi so I was thinking of a way to approach her.

"Dude what happened with that girl?" I heard Tsūmen's voice approach me, as I turned around to notice him standing next to the door. He always had one of those smiles on his face which would make someone suspicious of him, as I replied in a bored tone, "I don't know…"

Tsūmen crossed his arms and closed his eyes to show me that he was imagining something. His eyes shifted towards me with a cheeky smile as he said, "What a weird girl… but she was quite hot."

"Well… yes." I nodded, as Shiraishi indeed was quite hot but I still had no knowledge about her. Not even a surface level information. Tsūmen sighed and stretched his arms as he asked in a laid back tone, "How come hot girls are kissing you out of nowhere?"

"Trust me, I would be glad to know." I answered with an unamused look on my face. It wasn't that I didn't like a girl kissing me, but rather that girl was my target and sooner or later I would've to get involved with her but she is really sketchy.

I'm glad Kizhashi was there to help me, because Shiraishi seems like quite a complicated girl, and any wrong step from my side might backfire at me, so I couldn't afford to let something like that happen.

He was smiling like an idiot standing next to the door with his hands in his pockets with his eyes gazing at the class as he was about to say something but stopped mid-sentence, "By the way… Areh!"

I noticed his eyes getting narrower as he turned around and taking his right hand out his pockets, he advanced it in front of him. My gazes followed his extended arm as I noticed the figure of Kana approaching us.

She was looking over shoulders while conversing with her friend as she kept moving forwards. If she continued walking like that, she would've slammed herself on the door but Tsūmen seemed to have already guessed that as he was trying to help her.

As Kana's head was about to hit the door, Tsūmen held it gently, as her strands of hair fell on his hand and pushed her sideways, which startled her as she instantly turned around and with wide eyes and noticed Tsūmen staring at her, "Ouch, what the… Tsūmen?"

"Are you blind or something?" He said, as Kana was adjusting her hair, trying to comprehend what just happened with her.

She stared at Tsūmen, and then at me with a confused look on her face. Her eyes slowly shifted towards the door, as it seemed like she realised why Tsūmen yeeted her. A sheepish smile formed on her head, as she averted her eyes from him and said in a low voice, "Might be."

"Thanks for the save though." She said, looking up at him with a grin on her face, as Tsūmen just shook her head, and asked her, "Where are you going?"

Kana looked at him shyly and started fiddling with her finger as she averted her eyes from him. Kana sure knew how to tease him, as she said in a low and soft voice, "I'm going on a date."

Tsūmen's mouth hung open as he blinked at her with visible confusion on his face. Staring at her for a while, as Kana kept acting quite bashfully, he burst out, "What the fu… with who?"

Kana bursted out laughing as I chuckled at his reaction too. Tsūmen looked at both of us in confusion and narrowed his eyes and Kana slapped him on the shoulder and said between breaths, "I was kidding… obviously!"

"That's what I thought. No sane boy would go on a date with you." Tsūmen instantly nodded with a confident look on his face, as Kana puffed up her cheeks, and said with a pout, "You piece of shit."

He raised his hand and rested it on top of her head and he leaned towards her with a mischievous smile on his face and said in a sarcastic tone, "I'm just stating the facts here."

"Shut up?" She said with tensed eyebrows and a frown on her face as Tsūmen shook his head from left to right, "No."

Lately Tsūmen and Kana had gotten quite close with each other. I was observing both of them and noticed a few subtle things that were hinting towards the possibility of either of them being interested in the other person but considering their personalities, it wasn't that much of a big deal.

But after what I witnessed, how am I not supposed to ship these two!?

As I was watching those two, my mobile vibrated. Taking it out, I unlocked it and noticed that Kizhashi had texted me something. She was quite good at doing these kinds of things. Feeling a bit nervous, I put my mobile back in my pocket and walked out the class.

It was finally time for me to go up to Shiraishi and talk to her.
