My Divine Pet System

Chapter 46

C46 – It Felt Familiar!

“Do you know me, Principal?” Qin Hongyu asked, his face etched with confusion.

After all, the man was the vice principal, and Qin Hongyu was merely an obscure student from Class D. It seemed only logical that the vice principal wouldn’t know him.Nôv(el)B\\jnn

“Of course, I know you. You made quite a stir at the awakening ceremony; word of it even reached me,” Mr. Qian said, his smile warm.

“So, you think I’m just a waste, then?” Qin Hongyu’s voice carried a tinge of disappointment.

Mr. Qian’s brow furrowed, and with a light tap on Qin Hongyu’s head, he spoke with gravity, “Do you see yourself as a worthless Battle Spirit Fighter?”

“Not at all!” Qin Hongyu shot back without hesitation.

“That’s the spirit. I expect you won’t let me down in the future,” Mr. Qian said, his smile returning.

“Thank you for your guidance, Principal. I won’t let you down!” Qin Hongyu bowed deeply in gratitude.

With a smile, Mr. Qian pulled out a business card from his pocket and handed it to Qin Hongyu, saying, “If you ever face any challenges, feel free to call me or come to my office with this card.”

Gratefully accepting the metal business card with both hands, Qin Hongyu said, “Thank you for looking out for me, Principal! But why are you being so kind to me?”

Mr. Qian didn’t respond to Qin Hongyu’s question. Instead, he simply took his meal and returned to his seat.

“It’s so odd. Today’s the first time I’ve met Mr. Qian, yet why do I feel such a sense of familiarity?” Qin Hongyu mused as he picked up a plate of sashimi and drifted back to his seat.

“Was that Mr. Qian who just spoke to you?” Fu Tian, having witnessed the exchange, asked with a hint of curiosity.

“Yes,” Qin Hongyu replied, somewhat distractedly.

“He seemed to know you quite well. Had you met him before?” Fu Tian probed further.

“No, but he gave me his business card and said to seek him out if I ever run into trouble,” Qin Hongyu said, now fully engaged as he showed the metal card.

“Ah, and you claim you don’t know him! I’ve heard Mr. Qian doesn’t just hand out his business card willy-nilly. Most of our faculty don’t even have one. How did you manage that?” Fu Tian asked, visibly astonished.

“I’m not sure myself—maybe I’m just too exceptional!” Qin Hongyu had considered countless explanations, yet he was convinced this was the most plausible.

Fu Tian and Bo Miaojiao fell silent immediately.

Having been famished in the Iron Woods, the trio spent over an hour at dinner, only relenting when they were too full to continue.

After bidding Mr. Qian farewell, they boarded the elevator and departed from the third-floor restaurant.

It was only after Qin Hongyu and his companions had left that Mr. Qian slowly rose to his feet, speaking to himself, “Father was right; they are indeed promising Battle Spirit Fighters. And he’s an Elemental Spirit, no less. But how did he end up in Class D?”

“It’s time for a chat with Ji Yin. What kind of year head allows a talent to slip into Class D? It’s preposterous!” With a firm expression, Mr. Qian strode out of the restaurant with purpose.

Once outside, Qin Hongyu and the others set off to find their dormitories, guided by the addresses on their key cards.
