Chapter 45

C45 – The Four Great Clans!

“You mentioned before that if we ended up in the same class, you’d share your story with us. It seems like it’s about time!” Bo Miaojiao added eagerly.

“Okay, have you ever heard of the four great families?” Fu Tian nodded and responded.

Reluctant as he was to delve into the topic, these two were no longer strangers; they were comrades who had shared life-and-death experiences. Plus, having previously made a promise, he was bound by his word.

”The four great families, like in ‘Dream of the Red Chamber’?” Qin Hongyu asked, looking confused.

With an exasperated eye roll, Fu Tian clarified, “No, these four great families date back three hundred years, to a time when humanity was on the brink of extinction. Xaprassau saw the rise of four saviors, whose spirits became the protectors of the land. In a final stand against a formidable Master Class Demon Beast, they sacrificed their lives to seal it away, enabling humanity’s resurgence.”

“Even though the four Supreme Gods of Holy Spirit perished, their legacy lived on through their bloodlines, giving rise to the four great families tasked with guarding Xaprassau. So, you’re from one of those families, the Shu family?” Bo Miaojiao pieced together.

“Third Sister, you’re quite well-informed to know such secrets. Yes, whether by fortune or misfortune, I am a descendant of those families. My father is the current patriarch of the Shu family, and I am his youngest son,” Fu Tian admitted, somewhat taken aback.

“I may not grasp all the details, but it certainly sounds impressive. However, what brings you to Deepfell City?” Qin Hongyu inquired.

“That’s a long tale,” Fu Tian said, his expression tinged with regret.

“Just give us the short version!” Qin Hongyu encouraged with a firm pat on his shoulder.

“In essence, my talents didn’t measure up to my family’s expectations, and I wasn’t well-regarded. I left home in a huff, but looking back, I’m thankful for that decision. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have had the chance to meet all of you.” A smile broke through the clouds on Fu Tian’s face.n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om

“Your skills aren’t the best, but I think you’re pretty impressive! They just lack vision, that’s all. I’m sure they’ll come to regret it one day!” Qin Hongyu said with a smile, giving a reassuring pat on the shoulder.

Fu Tian knew Qin Hongyu was just trying to comfort him. He chuckled sheepishly and responded, “I hope that day comes too.”

After polishing off a stack of sashimi, the “White Tower” at their side let out another cry.

“You little foodie, look at the size of your belly. You’ve had enough!” Qin Hongyu chided, glancing at the “White Tower” who was still eagerly eating.

The “White Tower”‘s belly was visibly swollen, yet it continued to gaze at Qin Hongyu with those innocent eyes, flicking its tongue in a bid to look adorable.

“One last plate, or you might just burst!” Qin Hongyu said with a resigned shake of his head before turning to head back to the buffet area.

As he reached for an empty plate, he caught sight of a familiar middle-aged man.

Isn’t that our college’s Vice Principal?

“Mr. Qian!” Qin Hongyu called out with respect.

Mr. Qian slowly turned his head and upon seeing Qin Hongyu, greeted him warmly, “If I’m not mistaken, you’re Qin Hongyu, right?”
