Infinite Paths: The Raging Phoenix

Chapter 616: Song

Rain couldn’t help but wonder about the composition of this purple fire. It was evident that it utilized a poisonous gas as fuel, which was unusual for traditional fire attacks. The lingering effects of the fire’s contamination raised questions about its true nature and potential long-term consequences for the warriors.

This discovery added an extra layer of complexity to the battle and the threat posed by these monsters.

The number of salamanders was higher than the trolls by a large margin, so their fire attacks were making the entire area vibrate thanks to the heat. The warriors were withstanding that, but for every salamander that was killed, one warrior ended up poisoned and burned to some extent. A couple of minutes later, their fighting abilities would decrease tremendously.

While Rain was thinking about what to do regarding that without taking the victory from the hands of his troops, he saw Asche jumping high in the air and then summoning three arrows and firing them. She did the same thing several times before she finally fell, and each arrow shot made the ground in the area tremble. Most likely, it also killed a bunch of monsters too.

Jori, who was nearby, dashed toward the salamanders, and when they used their fire attack, he summoned a thick layer of earth around his sword and swung it violently. The attack created a powerful blast of wind that not only pushed away the flames but also made the monsters stagger.

That was enough for him to get closer and smash the heads of the beasts with his sword whole, spinning like a heavy top.

Liss was more simple in her tactics. He just swung her hand downard and then fired wind blades that reached the enemies after cutting through the purple fire. In the next moment, their heads would be split in two.

Reca was being as reckless as usual… swinging her spear from one side to the other and repelling the flames at the same time and hoping that she would hit the enemies before they could burn her… it was working, but her fighting method sure was nerve-wracking for those watching… It felt like she relied a lot on luck, but it also felt that she controlled her own luck with pinpoint precision.

"I guess I don’t have to make a move now…" Rain thought.

As if someone had read Rain’s thoughts, the atmosphere suddenly changed. Behind the lines of the trolls that were about to find their end, Rain quicky saw a massive fire cyclone emerging into the sky… it was at least two hundred meters wide, and one could only guess how tall that thing was.

"A combined attack, huh?" Rain squinted his eyes.

The heat sorcerers weren’t supposed to be able to create, let alone control, something of that size… they either have trained a lot to become that strong, or they drank some sort of power-up juice, and Rain knew what kind of juice the enemy had to offer to them.

The pull of the tornado was massive. Even the trolls began to be sucked by it, so it goes without saying that the warriors eventually felt the same, and the heat was only making things worse.

Still, before anyone could lose their lives thanks to that spell, dark clouds began to gather around it, and they began to spin in the opposite direction… the fire cyclone began to lose pull power and speed thanks to it, and in the end, it only looked like a massive pillar of flames.

The caster of the spell didn’t give up that soon, though. They just infused more mana in it and made the whole thing gain more power. Find more to read at empire

"I guess they want a dick measuring contest… well, I have a surprise for you then," Rain said and then smirked.

The mana density in the area didn’t let Rain find where the caster was, so he couldn’t use the easy way out of that situation, which was just to kill the caster or casters.

Cyclones are powerful rotating air masses characterized by their circular motion. They typically form over warm ocean waters due to the combination of several factors, including warm and moist air rising, the Earth’s rotation, and low-pressure systems. As the warm, moist air rises, it creates a region of low pressure at the surface, which draws in more air.

This air then begins to rotate due to the Coriolis effect, and as it continues to rise and cool, it forms clouds and can develop into a cyclone.

Rain used his understanding of how cyclones were formed to counter the fire cyclone created by the heat sorcerers. By harnessing his power to manipulate the weather and create several storms in a small area, Rain recreated the environmental conditions necessary for cyclone formation.

He manipulated the air currents, temperature, and moisture levels to mirror the conditions to fight back the cyclone formation, creating a counteracting force against the fire cyclone.

This artificial storm he generated disrupted the enemies control over the fire cyclone, creating a clash of opposing forces. The two forces interacted in a tumultuous battle of air and fire, ultimately causing the fire cyclone to lose cohesion and dissipate.

Rain’s knowledge of meteorological phenomena and his command over storm creation allowed him to effectively neutralize the fiery threat posed by the enemies, leaving both sides speechless. That consumed quite a bit of mana, but eventually, the fire cyclone ended, and the flow of the battle was back in their hands.

"It is fine to end this," Rain thought.

Once again, Rain wanted to only let his warriors claim that victory, so he changed his skills to boost their parameters with teacher and scholar skills, but that wasn’t enough.

"Let’s hope that I won’t die thanks to the cringe after this," Rain said and then took a deep breath.

In the next moment, Rain created a flute with his earth magic and then began to play it… he actually knew how to play rather well.n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
