Chapter 64: Body Strengthening Realm - 3rd Layer (2)
Under the midday sun, a thunderous boom tore through the stillness, shaking the lake’s calm surface as if the very heavens had shattered.
The sound wave resonated across the tranquil expanse, rippling outward in perfect concentric circles, each one deeper and more forceful than the last.
The once-calm waters churned violently, as though an unseen hand had stirred them into a frenzy.
Bubbles burst upon the surface, froth foaming in great swathes, while thick clouds of steam hissed upward, blanketing the lake in an eerie, ghostly fog.
In the center of this chaos stood Lucian, his form barely visible through the ethereal mist.
Lucian’s body pulsed with newfound power. His skin seemed to glow with an otherworldly radiance.
The veins beneath his skin became visible, glowing like rivers of molten gold as they carried the surge of energy throughout his body.
His bones creaked and groaned, even his long white hair seemed to come alive, each strand dancing with ethereal energy.
As the energy surged through Lucian’s body, a dark transformation began!
Thick, viscous streams of black filth started to ooze from every pore, seeping into the once-pristine waters.
The putrid substance spread like tendrils of night, tainting the crystalline lake with its foulness.
The stench was overwhelming, a miasma of decay and corruption that seemed to claw at the very air.
It was as if all the impurities of the world had been concentrated and expelled from Lucian’s form, a vile baptism that defiled the natural sanctuary around him.
Where the black sludge touched, life withered. The delicate water lilies, moments ago bobbing gently on the surface, now curled and blackened.
Their once-vibrant petals shriveled and fell away, disintegrating into the polluted waters.
It was a smell beyond description, a horrific melange of rotting flesh, sulfurous fumes, and something uniquely, indescribably wrong.
Fish that had moments ago darted playfully now floated to the surface, their gills working frantically against the polluted water.
But Lucian didn’t pay them mind, he continued to absorb the Spiritual Energy from the spirit stone held in his palm, after breaking through.
The stone pulsed with an otherworldly light, its energy pouring into him in an unending stream.
The water around him began to swirl faster, creating a tiny vortex with Lucian at its center.
Tiny motes of light danced across the surface of the lake, each one a fragment of pure energy that had escaped from Lucian’s body — energy that his body had failed to absorb.
They shimmered with a faint, almost ghostly hue, as if mocking him with their freedom, while he sat in silence, feeling the loss of what should have been his strength.
They skipped and bounced like playful spirits, leaving trails of luminescence in their wake before dissolving into the air.
His body continued to change, adapting to the influx of power. His muscles became denser, more defined, yet somehow more flexible.
When the last bit of filth was poured out, he had fully reached the 3rd Layer of the Body Strengthening Realm!
But he didn’t stop, continuing to absorb Energy as this time, the energy from the spirit stone was moving through his clogged passageways and slowly merging with his bones.
The sensation was unlike anything he had experienced before — a deep, resonant vibration that seemed to emanate from the very core of his being.
As the energy seeped into his skeletal structure, Lucian felt a curious lightness spreading through his limbs.
The sensation was not painful, but intense - a pressure building from within that threatened to burst through his skin.
"So the 3rd Layer will strengthen my skeleton structure", He quietly murmured to himself.
As Lucian’s bones continued to absorb the Spiritual Energy, a rustling from the far shore caught his attention.

Thump–! Thump–!
Through the haze of steam and mist, a massive shape emerged from the treeline.
A brown bear, its fur glistening with dew and muscle rippling beneath its pelt, lumbered towards the water’s edge.
It stood twice as tall as an adult man, its shoulders hunched and powerful, claws glinting in the filtered sunlight.
The beast’s nose twitched, nostrils flaring as it caught the scent of the lake’s foul smell.
Its small, intelligent eyes darted about, searching for the source of the disturbance.
Grooowl~!
When they landed on Lucian, who seemed to be sitting in the center of a small swirling vortex, a low growl rumbled from deep within its chest.
Seeing Lucian, the beast’s mouth watered at the sight of what it saw as prey. After all, it had been hunting since morning without finding a suitable target to fill its empty stomach.
The bear’s massive form tensed, muscles coiling beneath its thick fur like springs ready to unleash their power.
ROARRRRR—
With a roar that shook the very air, it launched itself into the lake, its enormous paws churning the water into a froth as it barreled towards Lucian.
The beast’s charge sent waves rippling across the surface.
Droplets of water, infused with spiritual essence, sprayed into the air, catching the light like a thousand tiny prisms.
But, it was after all a mortal wild beast.
As the bear drew closer, Lucian’s newfound senses heightened.
He could hear the creature’s thunderous heartbeat, smell the musk of its fur, and feel the vibrations of its approach through the water.
The world seemed to slow down, each moment stretching into eternity as his perception sharpened to a razor’s edge.
As the bear’s massive form hurtled towards him, Lucian remained motionless, a serene smile playing at the corners of his lips.
The thunderous splashing grew louder, closer, yet he did not flinch!
He wanted to test the limits of his newly transformed body, to feel the raw power of nature crash against the fortress of his flesh.
The bear’s enormous paw, tipped with razor-sharp claws that could shred a tree trunk to splinters, swung through the air in a vicious arc.
Whoosh—
Time seemed to slow as it approached Lucian’s exposed skin.
Droplets of water hung suspended in the air, each one a perfect mirror reflecting the tension of the moment.
As the bear’s massive paw descended upon Lucian, he made no move to defend himself.
The bear’s claws, each as long as a man’s finger, raked across Lucian’s bare chest with enough force to shatter stone.
Yet, to Lucian’s amazement, the impact felt no more threatening than a gentle caress!
The bear’s claws, which should have torn his flesh asunder, merely skidded across his skin like raindrops on polished marble.
Only a faint tremor rippled through his body, but not a single drop of blood was spilled.
The bear, bewildered by its failure to harm its prey, reared back on its hind legs.
Its massive form towered over Lucian, casting a shadow that blotted out the sun.
ROOOARR—
With a roar that shook the very air, it brought both paws crashing down upon Lucian’s shoulders!
The impact sent shockwaves through the water, creating a crater of displaced liquid around them.
Yet Lucian stood firm, his feet barely sinking into the soft lakebed.
He felt the raw power behind the blow, marveling at how his body absorbed it without strain.
Where once such an attack would have shattered his bones and pulverized his organs, now it felt like little more than a firm massage.
Each thunderous blow sent ripples across the lake’s surface, yet Lucian remained unmoved, a pillar of tranquility amidst the chaos.
The beast’s massive paws pummeled his chest and shoulders, its claws raking across his skin with enough force to fell ancient trees.
Yet not a single scratch marred Lucian’s flesh!
The bear’s attacks grew increasingly desperate, its primal fury giving way to confusion and fear.
Its growls, once ferocious and confident, now held a note of uncertainty.
Lucian could sense the creature’s mounting frustration, could almost taste its bewilderment on the air.
Foam flecked its muzzle, its breath coming in ragged gasps.
The creature’s eyes, once filled with primal fury, now held a glimmer of confusion and growing fear.
Lucian’s lips curled into a smile, his crimson eyes gleaming with a mixture of wonder and newfound confidence.
As the bear’s eyes widened with a newfound fear, its massive form began to retreat, paws churning the water as it backpedaled.
The creature’s once-fierce roars had diminished to confused whimpers, its primal instincts screaming that this prey was far more dangerous than it had first appeared.
Lucian, however, remained motionless, his eyes appeared to be gleaming with an otherworldly light.
A slow, predatory smile spread across his handsome face as he watched the bear’s retreat.
The power coursing through his veins sang a siren song of dominance and conquest.
He had tasted invulnerability, and now a darker urge stirred within him.
With deliberate slowness, Lucian raised his right hand.
The movement sent ripples through the water, each tiny wave charged with spiritual energy.
He clenched his fist, and the sound of bones cracking echoed ominously, like the snapping of dry twigs underfoot.
"Leaving already?" Lucian’s voice was cold, dripping with dark amusement, "You came this far... why not stay a little longer?"
With a sudden surge of power, Lucian’s body tensed like a coiled spring.
In an instant, he launched himself from the water’s surface, droplets cascading off his form in a glittering arc.
The air itself seemed to part before him as he hurtled towards the retreating bear with impossible speed.
Time slowed to a crawl as Lucian’s fist connected with the beast’s skull.
The impact resonated through the clearing like a thunderclap, sending shockwaves rippling across the lake’s surface.
BOOOOM—!
CRACK—!
Bones shattered beneath his knuckles, the bear’s thick hide offering no more resistance than tissue paper.
The sheer force of the blow caused the bear’s head to implode, collapsing inward with a sickening crunch.
Thud—!
Fragments of skull and brain matter exploded outward in a gruesome spray, painting the water’s surface with a grim coat of crimson.
