Villain Ch 707. No Reply
Azura leaned in slightly, her curiosity piqued by Allen's response. "Are you quite close to your sister?" she inquired, wanting to delve deeper into their relationship.
Allen pondered for a moment before responding with a thoughtful hum. "Hmm, I can't say we're close enough," he admitted, his expression thoughtful. "We were separated for a long time and only recently met again. I can say we're still adjusting to each other," he explained, his tone tinged with honesty.
Azura nodded understandingly, sensing the complexity of their relationship. "That must be tough," she remarked sympathetically. "But it's good that you're making an effort."
"Yes, but she is a nice girl so I think we will get along well," he confessed.
Azura's curiosity about Allen's recent activities bubbled to the surface as she glanced around the upscale café. The sight of Allen's sleek motorcycle parked outside only fueled her intrigue further, prompting her to voice her questions.
"Um... you know," she began, her voice tinged with hesitation as she tried to broach the subject delicately. "You've been gone from the gaming world for two years, and now you're back. But you don't seem interested in competing again. So, what have you been busy with lately?" she asked, her tone laced with curiosity.
Azura couldn't help but notice the discrepancy between Allen's modest appearance two years ago and the expensive surroundings they currently found themselves in. His motorcycle alone hinted at a level of affluence that seemed incongruous with his previous demeanor. With a furrowed brow, she silently pondered what could have transpired during his absence from the gaming scene.
"Except photography, of course," she added hastily, preemptively dismissing the possibility of Allen attributing his current lifestyle to his photography endeavors.
Allen's expression shifted slightly at Azura's probing question, a hint of surprise flickering across his features. He seemed to consider her question carefully before responding.
"Well, photography has kept me busy. But I'm also a model. Still a freelancer though," Allen admitted casually, deciding to share a different facet of his life with Azura. He knew that revealing his true occupation as a writer would only complicate matters further, especially after their earlier conversation.
Plus, he wasn't ready to disclose his connection to Goldborne, unsure of how Azura would react.
Azura's eyes widened in disbelief at Allen's revelation. "Really?" she exclaimed, her surprise evident in her tone.

Allen nodded, a small smile playing on his lips as he confirmed, "Yes. It's for Urban Enigma magazine."
Azura's astonishment was palpable as she struggled to process the unexpected news. The image of Allen as a model seemed to clash with her previous perception of him, adding yet another layer of complexity.
"Wow, that's... unexpected," Azura remarked, her voice tinged with admiration. "I mean, I never would have guessed," she admitted, her gaze lingering on Allen.
To be honest, Azura couldn't help but feel a pang of embarrassment as she realized she had never even heard of Urban Enigma magazine. Fashion wasn't exactly her forte, and her online browsing habits were largely confined to the world of gaming and streaming.
As a result, her exposure to fashion-related content was minimal, and she rarely received ads or recommendations outside of her gaming interests.
"I've never really checked out that magazine," Azura admitted sheepishly, her cheeks flushing with embarrassment. "I mean, fashion isn't really my thing," she added with a self-deprecating laugh.
The revelation that Allen was involved in the world of modeling added another layer of intrigue to their conversation, prompting Azura to reassess her assumptions about him. She couldn't help but wonder what other surprises he had up his sleeve, and she found herself growing increasingly curious about the man.
"Do you want to check it?" Allen asked in a relaxed tone.
She nodded. Azura's curiosity piqued by Allen's revelation, couldn't resist the urge to verify his claim. She retrieved her phone from her bag and unlocked the screen. Navigating to the browser, she typed in the name of the magazine Allen had mentioned – Urban Enigma.
The website loaded, and Azura's heart began to race with anticipation. Would she find Allen's face plastered across the screen, as he had claimed? Or was this just another elaborate ruse? With bated breath, she scrolled through the homepage, scanning the featured articles and advertisements.
And then she saw it.
There, prominently displayed on the homepage, was a familiar face. Allen's face, to be exact. Her eyes widened in disbelief as she stared at the image, her mind struggling to comprehend the reality of what she was seeing. Allen was indeed a model – just as he had claimed.
Azura clicked on the article featuring Allen's photoshoot, she couldn't help but feel a sense of awe wash over her. The photographs showcased Allen's striking features and effortless charisma, capturing her attention in a way she hadn't anticipated. She had to admit, he looked every bit the part of a professional model.
Allen put his elbow on the table and leaned his head on his palm, a playful smile tugging at the corners of his lips. "I'm not lying, right?" he teased, his eyes twinkling with amusement.
Azura felt her cheeks flush with embarrassment at Allen's teasing gesture, but she refused to let it show. Taking a deep breath, she summoned all the composure she could muster and met his gaze with a confident smile. "I never doubt you," she replied, her voice steady despite the flutter of nerves in her stomach.n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om
Despite her attempt to maintain her cool demeanor, Azura couldn't shake the nagging feeling of unease that lingered in the back of her mind. Glancing at her phone once more, she hoped to find Emma's reply, but she didn't. Emma only read it.
Soon enough, the waiter approached their table, balancing a tray laden with their chosen treats.
"Here you go," the waiter said cheerfully as he placed the plates in front of them. Allen's croissants and herbal tea were presented neatly on a porcelain plate, while Azura's macaroons and steaming cup of coffee were arranged enticingly on another.
"Enjoy," the waiter said with a smile, before giving a nod of acknowledgment to both Allen and Azura. With a polite "thank you," he turned on his heel and departed.
What do you think?
