Undying Warlord

Chapter 556 Uncountable Death&Torture

"This is really getting on my nerves… Why the hell do I have to fight Lesser Gods while my stats are not changing at all?" Dilan shouted at the Oracle, while his mangled body was slowly healing and returning to its original shape.

He could barely move his head, let alone keep his eyes open and see something.

No matter how strong he was, it shouldn't be possible for someone like Dilan to defeat 10 Lesser Gods one after another.

He was not even a Demi God but the Oracle treated him as if he had to be strong enough to kill Lesser Gods with a flick of his hands.

"As you have experienced first-hand, you can defeat Lesser Gods, who lived for millions of years. Don't you think that speaks enough about your capabilities?" The Oracle countered, folding her hands.

She smiled in amusement while looking at Dilan's grotesque appearance. It was horrifying for any kind of ordinary existence to look at under normal circumstances, especially considering that nothing inside…or outside Dilan's body was where it belonged.

"You find that funny, don't you? Don't get me started on how many times I died in the last…I don't even know how long it has been since I defeated Fatty Boba…Lesser Gods can kill me as if I'm just a little fly and it takes way too fucking long to defeat them one after another.

I might be Undying, but this shit is insane!" Dilan shouted as loud as he could while his body was healing rapidly.

Every bone in his body was broken, no piece of flesh was where it rightfully belonged and Dilan was not even sure where his skin was currently located.

It was as if he was Undead and only his head was somewhat fine. He was actually not even sure how it was possible for him to speak right now.

During the last…countless days that had passed, Dilan had been more often in a state similar to this; broken and mangled than he had been perfectly fine and unscathed.

He actually missed being unscathed for once, but it was not as if the 49th round would be any better than the previous eight rounds.

Every single round he had to fight and defeat a Lesser God with the same desire as Fatty Boba; to leave the City of Trials with their memories intact.

All of them desired to rewrite their fate and achieve what had been impossible before the City of Trials had been created. However, after putting in the effort to learn, comprehend and improve, they were ready to get back into life and turn the Universe upside down.

Unfortunately, they were not allowed to leave the City of Trials with their memories intact. Only by achieving something grand would they be granted special permission from the Origin personally.

Of course, Dilan couldn't care less about the promises they had been granted. He wanted nothing more than to get his hands on the True Destruction Trait. After fighting Lesser Gods for countless days, Dilan was increasingly convinced that it was necessary for him to get the True Destruction Trait.

It would allow him to actually fight Lesser Gods head-on rather than getting beaten up, torn to shreds, and killed in every possible way.

To the misery of the Lesser Gods, Dilan couldn't be defeated by tearing him apart or killing him in other ways. Even crushing his Essence Crystal, or attempting to burn his Soul in its entirety didn't change a thing.

He healed.

Every.

Single.

Time.

The only way to actually defeat Dilan was to crush him mentally. To make sure that he would forfeit the battle.

Unfortunately, Dilan was not someone who gave up easily. Torturing Dilan to make sure that he would speak the miraculous words was not something that worked in the favor of the Lesser Gods.

Dilan was not sure how much pain he had gone through, or how often Undying had healed him, but what Dilan could tell was that his sheer willpower was stronger than anything he had ever faced.

He didn't even know how strong his willpower was before all the torture he had gone through.

And as if that was not weird enough, Dilan didn't even hate the Lesser Gods, who had tortured him for countless days.

Several years had probably passed in the City of Trials since he had entered the Colosseum but that was something he was actually okay with.

A few years were nothing but mere days outside in the vast Universe. His family would be fine for a few more days and there shouldn't be many more problems for him to solve upon returning.

After all, he had finally gone past the 48th round, the round that had been, by far, the worst.

His opponent had been a mere human Soul Shard, but he had cut off his limbs, nailed them to the four gates that were located in each direction of the Colosseum's arena and he had been prevented from doing anything.

Using his mana had been quite difficult, let alone the usage of a one-hit kill technique that could be used by an Ascender with the strength of the fourth Tier, to kill a God at that.

Dilan had suffered a lot, but it was also a fact that his pain tolerance had increased to unimaginable heights, that he could keep his mind sane even when facing the worst pain that existed, and that he was still able to kill his opponents even when it looked like they were a million times stronger than he was.

His Origin ability was simply too powerful and Dilan could tell that it was getting stronger the more often he suffered. In the beginning, it took him several days to heal after his entire body had been butchered and reduced to minced meat.

But by now it was possible for Dilan to control his Origin ability to such precision that it wouldn't even be a wonder if he were to be able to heal his entire body in 30 minutes…provided he possessed enough mana.

"Does it matter, whether I find your fights amusing or not? I think you understand the reasoning of the Trial of Power more than anyone else," The Oracle spoke all of a sudden, still smiling gently.

She descended to the spectator ring in the Colosseum and took a seat in a calm and composed manner.

"Are you not excited about your findings? Your Origin ability is constantly evolving, to the extent that you will be able to create a Divinity with the True Essence of it, the moment you are required to construct your Divinity… I don't think you understand how envious even the strongest True Gods would be of you if they were to find out about your little cheat code!

What is a little torture for a few decades in exchange for the opportunity to skip becoming a Lesser God and entering the stage of a True God in an instant?!?" The Oracle thundered loudly.

She had raised her voice for the first time, and Dilan could tell that she was jealous as well.

'Why the hell would a creation like you be jealous? You're just having fun here!'

But there was something that attracted his interest in the Oracle's words.

'I can create a genuine Divinity the moment I finish my foundation?'
