The Return of the God Level Assassin

Chapter 1160: YUNYUE VS MOZU (XVII)

The reason the gnome managed to shoot her didn't matter now. What mattered was that she would disappear soon. She didn't have time to explain everything to their captain; in seconds, she'd be reduced to light particles. With no other choice, she quickly sent a brief explanation to the team channel, summarizing the situation in the shortest way possible.

She could only hope their captain would understand what she's trying to say.

As soon as she sent the message, her body dissolved into light particles. She regretted not being able to deal any significant damage to the opposing team, using up all her remaining time to ensure the message was sent.

So, all she could do was silently curse the gnome with that ridiculous game name right up until the moment she disappeared.

[Hauntress has been eliminated!]

That system notification appeared in front of both He Zhi Long and Wang Bin.

Wang Bin barely had time to process what he saw, as he was being bombarded by attacks from all directions. To make things worse, the illusion made his surroundings spin like he was inside a washing machine, leaving him unable to see where the attacks were coming from.

Annoyed, he snarled, focusing all his strength on breaking free from the illusion. He slammed his axe into the ground with all his might, sending a shockwave rippling through the area. The force of the impact cracked the earth beneath him, creating a powerful tremor that destabilized the illusion.

With each strike, the distorted surroundings began to waver, flickering as he hammered the ground repeatedly, using sheer power to disrupt the illusion's hold on him.

As the illusion shattered around him, Wang Bin barely had time to steady himself. Suddenly, a figure lunged at him from the side, and a fist covered in heavy gauntlets crashed into his ribs, knocking him off balance. Before he could fully recover, another punch followed, then another, each blow coming fast and hard, keeping him on the defensive.

When Wang Bin caught a glimpse of his attacker's face, he clenched his teeth in frustration.

It was White Marsh!

White Marsh activated a skill, his gauntlets glowing with energy as he charged at Wang Bin with enhanced speed. Wang Bin reacted instantly, slamming his axe into the ground, sending a shockwave rippling through the earth that knocked White Marsh off balance. Without missing a beat, Wang Bin followed up with a powerful strike, his axe crackling with energy, aimed straight for White Marsh.

White Marsh quickly recovered, using a skill that hardened his gauntlets just in time to block the incoming blow. The impact sent sparks flying as the force reverberated between them. White Marsh retaliated with a flurry of powerful, skill-enhanced punches, each one faster and stronger than the last.

Wang Bin braced himself, his body glowing as he activated his own defensive skill, reducing the damage from each hit. With a fierce roar, Wang Bin unleashed a brutal counterattack, his axe glowing brighter as he swung it in a devastating arc, aimed to break through White Marsh's defenses.

Bai Ze saw the incoming attack and prepared to counter. But just as he was about to activate another skill, two notification windows abruptly appeared in front of him, stopping him in his tracks.

[Team Yunyue has found the clue for the final checkpoint!]

[The dragon, Rowan, is now unable to fight and will have to stay at Yunyue's headquarters to recuperate.]

The two notifications, or rather the second of the two, completely caught him off guard. The first one was of course a good news. But the second one? It's like a curve ball that came out of nowhere.

How on earth had Rowan been incapacitated again? The answer was obvious, yet Bai Ze struggled to accept it. How had Yuan Long managed to take down Rowan so quickly, despite all their preparations? Still, there was a more pressing problem at hand that he should be more worried about.

Korrinth must have noticed his brief distraction, as the other launched an even more aggressive attack. Bai Ze barely managed to block the first blow, but the next came faster than expected, forcing him to step back. Each hit pushed him further off balance, and no matter how quickly he tried to recover, Korrinth kept closing the distance.

Soon, Bai Ze found himself cornered, his space shrinking with every strike, leaving him with little room to counter.

As Bai Ze tried to get back his momentum, what he's worried about really happened.

[Team Mozu has found the clue for the final checkpoint!]

Wang Bin almost jumped when he saw this notification. As expected of Captain!

But in that brief moment of distraction, White Marsh acted, seizing the opportunity. Just as Wang Bin had done earlier when White Marsh hesitated, the other now returned the favor.

A heavy fist slammed into Wang Bin's side before he could react, sending him stumbling backward. He gripped his axe, ready to swing, but White Marsh was already there, following up with a rapid series of strikes. Wang Bin tried to defend, but each blow was faster, harder, and more precise. His grip faltered just as he raised his axe for a counter.

Then, with a sudden shift, White Marsh feinted left. Wang Bin moved to block, but the real strike came from the right. White Marsh's gauntlet glowed with an ominous black energy as it connected with Wang Bin's stomach. He was ready to fight back, but in that instant, he realized he couldn't move.

He looked down, only to see a huge hole in his stomach. The only thought he had as he disappeared into light particles was, he wouldn't hear the end of this from his teammates.
