Chapter 230
Chapter 230: Chapter 230
Ouch, I turned around to look back. The person then apologized before I checked who it was.
“I’m sorry.”
“Oh, no. I’m fine.”
As if in a hurry, the person left the spot without listening to my response.
Looking at his well-groomed black hair and the view of his back wearing a dark black suit on, I tilted my head to the side.
‘He looks my age… anyway, his voice sounds quite familiar?’
Then I straightened myself while nodding my head. There wouldn’t be anyone I personally know here. Thinking in that way, I took a half-walk around the table, then at the next moment, I felt someone walking past by me while bumping into me on the back again.
“Oh, I’m sorry.”
It was him again. Before I got to say something, he made an apology and walked away. Blinking my eyes, I stared at his appearance from behind.
Come on, no… it won’t be him.
And that was when we bumped into each other for the third time.
“I’m sorry… Eh?! Why are…”
“Oh, it was you…”
Pausing my words, I touched my forehead as from not knowing how I should react. Instead, I just said to myself, ‘I mean, why are you here?’
So was he who thought the same. Opening his eyes wide, he suddenly grabbed my shoulder, which made me surprised.
Twisting my shoulder, I asked, “W… why?”
“Hey, why are you here?! Besides…”
He scanned me from head to toe while rolling his eyeballs then opened his mouth with an enigmatic look.
“What’s up with all these…?”
A moment of silence went by. Staring at him for a second, I moved my shoulders again to get out of his grasp.
“What do you mean?” I tossed a question, shaking off my shoulders that he grabbed just now.
He then replied while looking unusually perplexed.
‘It means that…’
“Why are you dressed so gorgeously…?”
Looking at him slurring the end of his sentence, I responded sullenly.
“Are you sure? I don’t think so.”
“No! You look damn pretty. Hey, I was too surprised to see how gorgeous you looked that I hardly recognized who you were while bumping into you twice.”
Hmm.
Taking a long breath, I gazed at him who turned into his usual, overly chatty character.
He told me how good I looked and unrecognizable I was; however, he also was unable to be identified in my point of view.
During our school break time, his hair was always disheveled from playing chase with other kids in the classroom or the hallway, but that hair was now decently styled. He always wore a t-shirt inside the school uniform and shoved his tie in the pocket like a bum; however, he was now wearing a dress shirt fully buttoned up neatly with a tie. Thus, from his overall appearance, he looked like a completely different person.
He was none other than Yoon Jung In, the class president of Class 1-8. The bull in a china shop of our class was gone, but a charming young gentleman was standing in front of me. That was when I tried to open my mouth to his new character.
A hand that suddenly stretched out from behind Yoon Jung In touched his shoulder. He looked back. Raising my head after him, I uttered an exclamation involuntarily.
What came into my sight was a gentleman with a jet-black hair, chiseled features, and an athletic body as if he frequently worked out during his school days. Wearing a dark suit, the man seemed to be in his middle age but had a remarkably handsome appearance.
Above all, no one could deny that he and Yoon Jung In were father and son. They looked that much alike.
Looking back and forth between Yoon Jung In and the man, who was assumed to be his father, I emitted a whoop. Just like Eun Jiho, Yoon Jung In didn’t need to worry about how he would look in his future. At the next moment, when I met his father’s eyes, I struck dumb.
Instead of getting bewildered, he smiled at me and turned to look at Yoon Jung In. What he then said made me puzzled.
“Son, isn’t it too cliché to hit on a woman by complimenting her first?”
His words stiffened not only mine but also Yoon Jung In’s face.
‘Hit on a woman?’ While I couldn’t answer back but murmured those words over and over, Yoon Jung in first pulled himself back. With a frown, he replied almost like a yell.
“No, I wasn’t! I’m very picky!”
“Hey, hold on.”
I interrupted him with a stiff face, saying, “What did you just say?”
As soon as I said that, Yoon Jung In’s father switched his gaze to me while looking quite surprised.
‘Yikes, I should’ve said hello to him first,’ with that thought in mind, I quickly lowered my head.
“N… ice to meet you, sir.”
Yoon Jung In’s father then also greeted me.
“Um, how are you… by the way, do you know my son? What an honor for him to know this beautiful young lady…”
“Oh please, you’re praising me too much…”
That was when I shared a conversation with Yoon Jung In’s father while loosening up my stiffened face in a flash. Suddenly, the air around us seemed to turn quiet. Even the temperature felt as if it was declined.
Glancing around to find the origin of the unidentified cold airflow, I suddenly turned around then let out a whoop.
“Oh…”
Eun Jiho was looking at Yoon Jung In with a frosty stare. As if he sent the crowd away from him, Eun Jiho had no one around him including Choi Yuri.
When I looked forward again, I found Yoon Jung In taking a step back with a frightened face. He then mouthed a question to me.
‘What’s wrong with him?’
‘How should I know?’
The moment I mouthed the response, Eun Jiho strode towards our direction. What he then said made us grimace.
“Hey, I’m the only one who can say to Ham Donnie she’s ugly,” uttered Eun Jiho while stretching one side of his hand to pull me into his arms.
“…”
Not only me and Yoon Jung In but also Yoon Jung In’s father, who seemed to observe the situation while taking a step back when Eun Jiho approached us, looked quite grim.
The one who first moved amid the situation was, unexpectedly, Yoon Jung In, whom I assumed to be the most shocked.
Without a response, he quietly took his phone out from the pocket and called somewhere. Eun Jiho then put the frigid look away from his face and threw a perplexed glance at him.
At last, Yoon Jung In opened his mouth.
“Uh, hello? Eun Hyung?”
Only then did Eun Jiho notice whom he was calling to. His brows then met in the middle.
As soon as the name escaped from Yoon Jung In’s mouth, I couldn’t help but burst out laughing.
While I leaned on Eun Jiho’s arm and laughed out loud, ‘Bahaha,’ Yoon Jung In continued his talk over the phone.
“Um, no, but do you know what Eun Jiho said to me just now? ‘I’m the only one who can say to Ham Donnie she’s ugly.’ Dude, do you feel me?”
“Hey, hold on–”
Turning frighteningly pale, Eun Jiho stretched his hand out to Yoon Jung In’s direction; however, Yoon Jung In, who was the most ‘my pace’ in Class 1-8, didn’t look oppressed at all. Instead, he quickly turned his body and avoided Eun Jiho’s grasp.
He then continued, “Okay, yeah, I’ll rerun it later. ‘I’m the ONLY PERSON who can say to Ham Donnie she’s ugly.’ Haha.”
“…”
Eun Jiho covered his face with both hands. I, again, couldn’t help myself but burst into fits of laughter while holding his arm tightly to prevent myself from tumbling.
Oh, I must not do this but I can’t!
As if to rub salt into the wound, the laughter over the phone grew louder too.
BAHAHAHA! The moment I laughed out loud as well as Eun Hyung, who was over the phone, Eun Jiho became at a loss of words while burying his face onto his palms. Yoon Jung In closed his flip phone with a slamming noise. He then flaunted a grin to Eun Jiho. Looking at his smiley face, Eun Jiho removed his arm around me and quickly walked toward him.
Putting his face closely to Yoon Jung In, Eun Jiho then spoke in a low voice.
“Hey, let’s have a moment alone.”
“Excuse me?”
And before Yoon Jung In tried to respond something, Eun Jiho grabbed his arm and left the spot. It was such a clear and cool walkout. Only then did I pull myself together from laughing maniacally. I then stared at the two receding into the distance near the terrace.
Suddenly, I came up with Yoon Jung In’s father, so I turned my head back to settle things out; however, I found some familiar faces standing in front of me.
