Chapter 3306: Blood Dissolution Technique
Silver was quite clear on his current position. He simply was not strong enough for the Heavens Sect to care about him. Everything that he had done in the past had been written off after the incident involving the God of Death's left arm. The only thing about Silver that could be of any interest at all was the fact that the man was a bone grafter.
Silver’s eyes narrowed. Despite the tremendous pressure he had just been subjected to, he understood that he was at a turning point in his life.
Lu Yin was one of the people in the megaverse who could determine anyone’s fate.
“Lord Lu, we stand at different heights, so we see things very differently. Please explain the matter clearly,” Silver said.
Lu Yin stared down at the other man. “Have you ever heard of the Ossis Ark?”
Silver shook his head.
“It’s a tool that uses the bones of powerhouses to power corpse kings, allowing them to wield the abilities that those powerhouses had while they were alive. It had the strength of nearly a hundred peak powerhouses. This is the Ossis Ark,” Lu Yin explained slowly.
Silver's eyes grew large as they filled with both excitement and surprise. “Such a thing actually exists?”
Lu Yin stared at him. “Did you really not know, or do you not understand?”
“It isn’t hard to understand. In the past, Tian Dou studied bone grafters, and he tore every inch of my body open. He managed to successfully transplant the God of Death’s left arm into his own body, but unfortunately, he was too scared of his Semi-Progenitor tribulation and didn’t have the courage to attempt a breakthrough. If he had been a Semi-Progenitor, he would not have suffered the same fate.
“If Tian Dou could do it, it only makes sense that True God could do even more. If I’m not mistaken, bone grafters were created by True God, right?” Silver speculated.
Lu Yin chuckled. “You’re quite clever.”
Silver shrugged. “Bone grafters had to have been made by someone with unimaginable power. There’s no other way such a strange race would ever appear, especially when our ability causes people to wipe us out from fear as soon as we appear. Our ability is no weaker than your Lu family’s innate gifts.”
Lu Yin had to agree. Bone grafters truly were a powerful race, and the Ossis Ark was proof of that. True God had already created one Ossis Ark, and with enough bones, he might even be able to create a second one.
Still, there was one thing that Lu Yin did not understand; given all the bones on the Ossis Ark, why had they not been used? That would have not just been a hundred peak powerhouses, but rather hundreds. It would have produced an army that could have swept through everything.
Lu Yin mentioned his confusion.
Silver shook his head. “It’s not that simple. While I don’t know the exact reason why, if two bone grafters transplant bones from the same person, only one of the two bone grafters can wield the powers of the original owner of the bones. The second will always fail. This has always been true, and it seems like even our ancestor, True God, has never managed to overcome this problem.”
Lu Yin’s eyes flickered. Could such a restriction be what had limited Aeternus’s forces?
There were no absolutes in the megaverse. If bone grafters were able to duplicate a person’s strength without limits, then it would be an absolute that violated the laws of the megaverse. While Lu Yin had theoretically reached the limit of physical strength for biological creatures in the megaverse, that was not a true absolute. After all, True God was still able to surpass Lu Yin’s strength with the help of his Corpse King Transformation or Natural Art, which indicated that Lu Yin could still improve further. He had not yet touched the limits of the megaverse.
On the other hand, the bone grafters’ ability clearly approached the limits of the megaverse.
This was the only guess that Lu Yin had for why there was such a restriction.
“I want you to build an Ossis Ark for me, one capable of producing the power of Progenitors,” Lu Yin announced.
Silver sighed. "I already expected that you would ask me to do something difficult, Lord Lu, but I didn’t anticipate something quite this challenging. Lord Lu, only True God can create something like the Ossis Ark. I can't do it."
Lu Yin continued to stare at the man. "Whether you can do it or not, you need to at least try. I won’t tell you why, but I can promise that, if you succeed, you’ll be able to roam the entire megaverse freely. You can choose any position within the Heavens Sect, up to becoming one of the Outer Eight Paths."Nôv(el)B\\jnn
Silver's lips curved upwards. "That's quite tempting."
Silver was not someone who could be controlled. Even though Lu Yin held the man’s life in his hands, there was a chance that Silver would not truly obey his orders. That was why Lu Yin had released overwhelming pressure as soon as they had met, as a means of intimidating Silver. It was necessary to offer both a carrot and a stick. Still, Lu Yin could not read Silver’s thoughts. The man hid everything, but that might also just be the nature of a bone grafter.
Lu Yin’s status meant that he did not need to know what Silver was thinking. It did not matter, because he could not consider things beyond the level that Lu Yin was working on.
“To successfully graft bones, there are several conditions that must be met. First, the target’s body needs to be able to endure the foreign power. Second, the blood needs to have reached a certain standard. Bone grafters’ blood is able to accommodate all beings, but there’s still a limit, which is our ability to endure the incoming power. The stronger the original owner of a bone was in life, the higher the requirements of the target. If their bloodline is not strong enough, they will be drained of all strength and be unable to even move.”
Silver looked at Lu Yin. "It’s not that I don’t want to help, Lord Lu, but even if you gave me the bones of a Progenitor, I wouldn’t be able to successfully incorporate them, let alone create an Ossis Ark for you. The damage I suffered from incorporating the God of Death’s finger bones into my body was quite severe. Even then, I still wasn’t able to manifest even a fraction of the potential power."
Lu Yin replied, "I’ve already considered those two points. There are a number of wandering corpses in Burial Garden, many of which have the strength of a Semi-Progenitor, and some that are even as strong as Progenitors. Just like Aeternus’s corpse kings, these wandering corpses can endure bone grafting."
Silver nodded. "That’s certainly possible."
“As for the bloodline requirement.” Lu Yin looked at Silver before he continued speaking. "Are you aware of something that I once did? Ku Wei absorbed the blood of Progenitor Chen while in the man’s mausoleum, which is what allowed Ku Wei to transform into a colossal giant. I enhanced his blood, purifying it so that it approached the level of Progenitor Chen's, and that transformed the entire race of colossal giants.
“At a certain level of strength, both a person’s body and blood will undergo a transformation. Of course, ordinary Progenitors won’t experience that sort of drastic transformation, and neither will their descendants. Regardless of how much their blood is enhanced, they can only approach the level of their ancestors, but they’ll never be able to reach the point of experiencing a true transformation. The only exception to that is when a powerhouse’s descendants possess the same innate gift as their ancestor. For example, I have the Champions' Stage and the Investiture of the Gods. Before I cultivated to a high enough level, enhancing my blood would have pushed me closer to Ancestor Lu Yuan. You are the same. True God created the bone grafters, and your bloodline possesses the same traits as him. As long as your blood is enhanced, it can be improved until it reaches infinitely close to the same level as True God, granting you the same bone grafter abilities as him.
“Even if you aren’t able to truly reach the same level as True God, you can at least improve your traits as a bone grafter. You can then use your blood to replace the blood of the wandering corpses.”
Silver stared at Lu Yin in astonishment. Enhance a person’s blood? How could Lu Yin accomplish something like that? Still, the theory built off of that ability was sound. Many cultivators only had children after becoming powerful in order to pass their innate gift through their bloodline. This was also true of many Progenitors. However, those descendants would never be exactly like their ancestors. However, that would all change if the descendants’ blood could be enhanced. The closer they came to matching their ancestor, the stronger their innate gifts would become.
After a Progenitor’s descendant’s blood was Enhanced, they would gain a level of talent that far surpassed other cultivators.
However, everything depended on their blood being Enhanced.
Silver finally understood. If Lu Yin could enhance blood, then it would explain his unmatched cultivation speed. There had long been rumors that Lu Yin was able to improve objects and tools, and it was finally confirmed to him.
If Silver’s blood were Enhanced, then his abilities as a bone grafter could be transferred to the wandering corpses, which would likely allow them to incorporate bones like a bone grafter.
If an Ossis Ark could be built… Lu Yin took a deep breath. With a tool like that, there would no longer be any need to fear the Spirit Nidus.
Energy converters, microarray weapons, mechas, the Scourge Occupation, Ye Wu’s symbiotic corpses, together with the Tianyuan Megaverse’s peak powerhouses and an Ossis Ark—Lu Yin could not even imagine just how much strength humanity would mobilize after everything was prepared. They could field an army entirely of peak powerhouses.
Such a thing would be completely unprecedented, and it would far surpass the greatest heights of the ancient Heavens Sect.
How many Progenitors had the Heavens Sect had at its former peak?
The Spirit Nidus had its unique characteristics, but so too did the Tianyuan Megaverse.
Lu Yin himself was almost a reflection of the Tianyuan Megaverse. He had cultivated numerous and diverse powers, but in the end, everything had converged into a single path, creating his inner universe. This was what made him peerless throughout the megaverse.
After hearing all of Lu Yin’s explanations, Silver understood just how prepared Lu Yin was, and the man slowly bowed. “Lord Lu, your plans might succeed, but there’s still one thing.”
He looked up at Lu Yin. "Even if you can improve my blood, are you confident that you can do so to the extent of granting me the same bone grafter abilities as True God?
"My people’s blood has been greatly diluted over the years, and that was exacerbated by Tian Dou’s experiments. He weakened a great number of the traits in my bloodline. Even after you improve it, I might not be able to reach the level you are hoping for, Lord Lu."
Lu Yin clasped his hands behind his back. “Come out.”
A short distance away, someone stepped out. They had a graceful and striking appearance. She was Lan Xian, the Semi-Progenitor from the Sixth Mainland.
Silver stared at Lan Xian, a bit dazed.
Lan Xian walked over to Lu Yin and slowly bowed. "Lord Lu."
When Lu Yin had first started cultivating, Lan Xian had already been a Semi-Progenitor, and she had even fought against him at one point in time. As Lu Yin had improved and climbed higher and higher, she had not been able to keep up with him. At the moment, she could not even touch his shadow.
Lu Yin looked at Lan Xian. "Tell him about Blood Alchemy."
Silver's expression changed slightly. Blood Alchemy?
Lan Xian turned to face Silver and then explained her Blood Alchemy technique. After listening for a while, Silver suddenly exclaimed, "That’s my people’s Blood Dissolution Technique!"
Lu Yin was not surprised. When he had first learned about Blood Alchemy, he had immediately thought of Silver and the bone grafters. No matter how he looked at the technique, Blood Alchemy was clearly connected to bone grafters. His suspicions had proven to be true.
Lan Xian did not understand.
Silver stared at Lan Xian. "How did you find this Blood Alchemy technique?"
"I found it in the Mara River."
Silver sighed. "Lord Lu, your insight is incredible. I’m truly impressed. Her Blood Alchemy is clearly us bone grafters’ Blood Dissolution Technique. Bone grafters tried to obtain the powers of powerful cultivators by replacing our bones, but that ability requires very specific blood to be used. Over the years, we developed the Blood Dissolution Technique. Periodically, we purified our blood, bringing it closer to our ancestor’s in order to ensure that us bone grafters would persist.
"However, there was a time when all the bone grafters were massacred, and our Blood Dissolution Technique was lost. With this returned, I’m confident that I will be able to purify my blood and provide Lord Lu with the complete bone grafter bloodline."
Lu Yin said, "I already told you, as long as you complete this task, you will be allowed to choose any position in the sect, up to the Outer Eight Paths."
Silver bowed low. "Thank you, Lord Lu."
Lu Yin then looked over at Lan Xian. "You haven’t opened your three meridian points, which means that you are unable to become a Progenitor. Still, I can offer you an energy converter, which will provide you with the power of a Progenitor."
Lan Xian was truly grateful. "Thank you, Lord Lu."
Both people then left, and Lu Yin took a deep breath. He had accomplished everything that needed to be done for the moment. From this point on, it would be up to others. As for Lu Yin himself, he needed to focus on finding True God and eliminating threats within the Tianyuan Megaverse, such as Yuan Qi and the others.
He just hoped that it would take a bit longer for the Spirit Nidus to arrive.
Time in the Five Spirits Alliance’s universes passed a hundred times faster than in most other parallel universes, which meant that every day that passed allowed the Tianyuan Megaverse to undergo months of progress.
