Chapter 197 - My First Kiss Got Stolen
The day was quite hectic at school, as my friends wouldn't stop teasing me about that girl. Even Kizhashi gave me a weird look when she heard about it. I feel like people will get the wrong idea about me at this rate.
And what was her deal? She said, "You're mine, that's all." But after that, there were no traces of her. She just dipped after kissing a random guy from a random class at a random time and in front of random people.
Though I was really embarrassed throughout the day, that's why I didn't do anything, but I'll have to find out about this girl. She is making me curious and unsettled at the same time. I never thought getting a sudden kiss could be so weird.
Those romance manga lied to me!
I finally reached home and took off my shoes, I strolled towards my bedroom. Lilith generally keeps the door open nowadays around this time since I usually return home by then..
I walked into my bedroom and noticed Lilith lying down on my bed, as she was eating a pack of chips while reading a book. Apparently, she enjoyed reading books, so she wasn't a complete idiot after all.
Noticing me entering the room, she rolled over her stomach like a cat and looked at me with an excited smile as she sat up, but looking at my face, a frown formed on her face as she asked, "You look… tired?"
"Am I?" I asked as I took my tie off and opened the buttons of my sleeves. Though my tone was sarcastic as usual and she didn't pay much attention to me.
Taking a seat next to her, I laid down on the bed sideways as my feet touched the ground, and she looked over at me as her silver hair fell on my face and turned the other way.
"By the way, you know I'm getting strange mana reading from the next target." She said, as there was excitement and curiosity in her voice. It was like she was happy to find out something, but there was a hint of concern, too.
And the fact that it was already a week and there were no traces of the new target was weird in itself. Raising my head, a bit, I looked at her and asked, "You already found the next one?"
"They are always near you, so basically yeah." She nodded and continued eating her chips. And there I thought that I had a few more days to relax. But it was weird that she found the target and didn't introduce her already.
From the past few weeks, Lilith was acting quite suspiciously and considering the weird occurrence with Naoto and now with this new target, I couldn't help but think that there was a third party involvement going on.
"By strange, what do you mean?" I asked, narrowing my eyes, as she stared at me and replied with an awkward smile, "It's not something you'll understand."
Of course, I wasn't the brightest in this mana and magic thing, but it was always interesting to listen to them, and I wasn't that dumb. But Lilith would rather not disclose much information to, anyway. In a plain tone, I said, "I would like to hear it though, since it's interesting."
"Well… so the new… wait…" This time she didn't hesitate much, as she gave me a slight nod and started, but came to an abrupt stop mid-sentence as she narrowed her eyes at me and I gave her a confused look, "Huh?"
"Why are you so restless?" She asked me as I replied instantly, "I'm not."
"Come on, you know lying doesn't work against me." She said as the corner of her lips rose into a smug smile and her eyes narrowed at me. Clicking my tongue, I sighed, "I hate this ability of yours."
"It's not my fault that humans are vulnerable." She shrugged as I tried to shift the topic, "Hai Hai! So…"
But it was all in vain in front of her. As she raised her eyebrows and with a sarcastic tone of surprise in her voice, she imitated, "Heee, you kissed someone?"
"What the…"
Poking my cheeks with her index finger, she smiled and commented, "Damn… I thought you were not interested in getting a girlfriend."
"That wasn't my girlfriend." I replied, but I wasn't as embarrassed as I was at school. Though the incident was weird, there was no reason for me to get flustered about it.
"Damn… so you're a player now, huh?" Lilith slowly nodded at her and, taking a small pause to look at my pissed off face, she continued, "Kissing random girls…"
I sat up and let out a sigh because she was trying to trigger me and if I yelled at her, then it would just be equivalent to accepting my defeat. I looked at and said in a calm voice, "She kissed me. I wasn't even prepared for it."
"So you would've done it if you're prepared then?" She asked me, twisting my words against me as I gave her a sharp look and asked in a low voice, "Can you shut the fuck up?"
"How polite." She burst into a peal of laughter and she kept poking my cheeks and kept sitting there with a bored expression on my face.
As she stopped laughing, I looked at her and said, "A random girl walked up to me and kissed me today."
Of course she would believe me since I couldn't lie to her even if I wanted to. She narrowed her eyes and tilted her head as she asked, "You got your first kiss, I suppose?"
"No need to slap me with the underlying virgin comment." I said in a blunt tone as it was indeed my first kiss and for some reason people make a huge deal of first kisses to be special and stuff, but I always found it stupid.
"Teehee!" She playfully hit herself on the head and I just shook my head in disapproval and laid back down with my arm covering my eyes.
