Chapter 700 Months Into Years...
The Codex of Infinity would become the scripture of the Sapphirine Cult i.e everyone who pledges their allegiance to Hal and is chosen to wield special advantages and abilities through it.
Even as Hal announced the name change as well as the purpose of the Codex, he was already linking it to everyone who served him.
Every genuine member of Hal's forces (that was not in the monument and busy with Ordinance Comprehension) was treated to status screens that explained the advantages they would receive through the use of the Codex.
Every ability they had was listed and streamlined and the use of those abilities was made more instantaneous and easier.
For them all, it would be like how it had been for Hal when he first got Grimoire, and first started making use of it...
Of course, the abilities that each person received and the privileges they were allowed were all based on either how powerful they were or how high they ranked in Hal's force.
Hal had plans for the Codex and he was not going to limit its availability to only those who fought for him...
The Codex was the scripture of his cult and he was going to use it to reaffirm the faith of every single individual who belonged to the Sapphirine Cult.
Even now, he was adding pages that were meant to depict the image of Infinity as an Omniscient, Omnipotent, and Omnipresent force.
The Codex would offer them a taste of all this by being capable of serving multiple individuals all at once and possessing knowledge of anything anyone ever wished to know.
This was not an exaggeration...
Already, the Primordial Cosmic Grimoire had contained in-depth information on various workings of the three realms... Including matters regarding Order despite it being a product of Chaos...
... Hal then added to that knowledge, every single memory, understanding that he had gleaned from the memories of both Order and Chaos and now twisted the narrative so that, to all who serve him and all who would be initiated, Infinity would be the first to exist and the one to have created Order and Chaos who then created the three realms.
The resources within Grimoire remained intact after Hal's takeover which meant that it still contained every bit of Blue gem and gold that Hal had spent on it as well as containing packages that should have ordinarily only been available to Hal after several victories.
All of them were now available to Hal and available for his use and the use of anyone he planned to bestow them on.
The Codex, through Hal, knew all what its duties henceforth were but in all honesty, none of it was akin to punishment...
The Codex was an information-granting Artifact and Hal just made sure that it would always be giving said information.
In all honesty, all this seemed to be a purpose fulfillment for the Artifact and this was not lost on Hal who was ignoring the smile that was now firming on the lips of the Artifact.
"All that is left is to keep you somewhere out of reach where you will still be able to perform your duties seamlessly..." Hal said and slammed his palms together to begin the Codex's assimilation with Infinity.
Before the assimilation was complete though, Hal transferred every bit of gold or Blue gems, (anything that served as currency to all hosts of the Grimoire) into his Inventory for his personal use.
His subordinates who would now have access to the Codex will be unlocking its abilities and exchanging information from it with the Merit they receive from serving Hal.
For whoever task they accomplish for their Lord and Master, the Codex will keep count in merits, and the more merit they earn, the higher any one of them would rank.
Anyway, following the assimilation of the Codex with Infinity, it would no longer reside in Hal's mind but it would always be in reach for Hal to make contact with whenever he pleased.
"You know, this is not half bad... It's a major step-up from living in your mind" the Codex said as it got settled in and Hal chuckled but gave no response.
That was settled and he needed to move on to another matter.
He found that he could not take complete control of the Monument of Ordinances as he had done with Grimoire and while he could tap into its sentience to make it do his bidding, his hold would not last forever.
There were definitely advantages to possibly having the Monument in always-ready-use but when Hal really thought about it, he decided he could do without it.
Unlike the Grimoire that had been made for manipulation and could still be considered an Artifact separate from Chaos, the monument seemed more like an Extension of Order.
It was the Primordial Principle's way of maintaining Order in regards to the availability and comprehension of Ordinances.
Even now, as the Monk and Primordial Will strived to free themselves of the Infinity bonds they were in, the Monk was using his attachment to the Monument to get free faster.
Also, both the Monk and Primordial Will had been created with a make-up and power that put them at least close to the level of Primevals and while they could appear freely inside the Monument, they could not do the same outside of it.
They were not allowed in any of the Neglected Worlds just like any other god and this protection from them was what Hal was banking on until he could become the Nexus World Pioneer god.
Anyway, Hal was not so hung up on the idea of having the Monument and would readily let it return to its strict path of touring the Neglected Worlds once he had made as much use of it as he could.
Sassy slid off Hal's wrist with her body finally completing its healing and once she was off his body, she reverted to her human form with Hak welcoming her with a smile and a couple of drops of his blood.
While she mewled at the energy she received from the blood and pushed her Serpentine Bloodline's evolution even further, Hal tapped into the Monument's sentience once again to view several parts of it.
Most of the battles were at an end and there was a fairly equal number of both sides' casualties so Hal could barely decide who had won.
The way he saw it, it was a mutual loss for both the Dystopians and the humans.
Some battles were still ongoing...
Adeline Silva and her brothers, Pierre, and Adrien Silva were just finishing up in a hall after a brutal killing of Dystopians that had been led by Adrien who barely seemed to care that Pierre was injured.
-
Tanya Haron and Aliya who were in the same hall as Arya came to a truce with the Dystopians they were battling.
The Dystopians were from the Devil tribe and having spent time with them as well as the current battle being a stalemate with few casualties, Arya decided a mutual end was better overall.
Tanya barely cared that she would have no trophies to take home to her father and was much more focused on her reunion with her Cousin.
(Arya is a Haron... She is the daughter of an Imperial prince who had her with a Dystopian Slave)
Arya, however, did not want the reunion especially since she had long dreaded the days she would be back in the cross-airs of those who had forced her to run away from the Imperial Palace in the first place.
Hal watched the Monument take everyone in that hall to private sections and then looked away to other parts of the Monument but he was mostly limiting his watch to his women or at least those who had something to do with him.
His snooping eventually came to an end though with the knowledge that there was a need to get to work.
Unlike Grimoire (now Codex) which was built to be able to converse and reason to a certain extent, the Monument's sentience had less complex thinking.
It had rules it was to obey...
It had a touring route it was meant to stick to and while there was the case of the Artifact getting pulled out of its route and brought to the Nexus realm Four thousand five hundred years ahead of Schedule, it(the Monument) would not stay longer than it should.
It was going to be around for three months with everyone inside it experiencing time differently.
Hal retreated into a private section and then used a combination of his influence on the Monument and his Sovereign Dao to provide himself a fairly constant stream of Cosmic energy while stretching the three months into years...
He also locked Monument down to keep the monk out until his time in the Monument was up.
Three months became Twenty years and while Hal had planned to spend it mostly cultivating, he ended up spending more time on the development of his Infinity.
Even then, when his time in the Monument was up, he was still at the Infancy stage of Infinity but had skipped a whole realm and was now at the peak of the Cosmic Pagoda Realm.
