Primordial Dimensions

Chapter 245 - What Did You Say??

Shane was not sure how much time had passed nor how he had survived, however, the pain in his chest was at least a sign that he was still alive, even if barely.

Opening his eyes slowly, Shane noticed that he laid on a soft bed.

He was enveloped in a translucent bubble that released a soothing sensation while something on his chest seemed to move.

This confused him and he blinked a few times before looking down. He noticed two astonishing things that he couldn't quite believe his eyes.

One was that the Lesser Starlet Fox was lying on the bedsheets at the bed's foot.

Its head laid on Shane's right foot and by moving his head a little, which gave him unbearable pain, he saw that the fox's injury was almost healed.

The silver fur was missing on the lower, right half of the Lesser Starlet Fox's body, but it seemed to have survived through everything.

Meanwhile, Shane's injury was neither completely closed nor had the searing pain reduced considerably.

This confused Shane, and then his eyes flicked to the thousands of tiny machines working on his injury, he couldn't help but be shocked.

A gasp escaped his lips, only to feel how painful every single movement was in his current state.

Only a moment later, the nature Elemental that saved Shane's life entered the room.

"Oh? You're already awake? It has only been 2 days...*Maybe his race has high regeneration abilities...but then his injury would have been healed by now?*"

The nature Elemental was astonished by the fact that Shane was already awake. After enquiring about his health he continued to mumble to himself, without listening to Shane who tried to answer him quietly.

'If you ask a question, at least, pay attention to the answer!' He wanted to shout, but he was barely able to utter a word.

In the end, it was that the green Elemental with faint brown stripes within its liquefied mass, indicating him to be a nature Elemental had most likely saved his life.

As such, Shane reminded himself that it would be rude if he were to shout at his savior.

"Thank you!"

Trying to speak was a monumental effort as the pain in his chest increased again as the Elemental turned around.

"Why are you thanking me? Look at your current state!! My healing skills, with the accumulated mana of the Old Emperor and several assistants, wasn't enough to heal your wound. Meanwhile, the small fellow who's sleeping at your feet is perfectly fine… I don't know if your injury is too deep or if something is preventing it from healing, but I'm already glad that it has stopped bleeding.

Furthermore, the mini mana research bots will investigate your condition and tell me what I can do for you! Normally, they should suffice in keeping us updated with your health but I can't see what's wrong with your body...sorry for that!

You are one of the first races with a physical body, to be administered care under me...Other races wouldn't allow a foreign race to tend to one of their ambassador's wounds.

It is uncommon for an ambassador to receive an injury on our planet, because we usually don't fight against each other, at least not to such an extent to cause severe injuries.

You should be the first to do both, fight us without hostility, and at the same time receive medical treatment from us...but I don't know if the latter is something to be proud of to be honest."

Shane was glad that the nature Elemental was honest and straightforward which made everything much easier for him. Now that he had woken up, his stomach rumbled and he realised that he was famished.

Furthermore, he knew that the human body couldn't heal just based on the healing skills alone. There had to be something the skill could forcefully awaken in order to initiate the regeneration process of someone with a physical body.

At least, it was like that for humans because they needed proteins, nutrition, and so on.

As such, Shane decided to explain the situation to the nature Elemental after pondering for a minute.

He had only been a veterinarian on earth and not a doctor on Igra who knew about such basic things.

Shane was only aware of the basics of the human body because it was a mandatory subject one had to study to become a veterinarian at his age, at that time.

After the nature Elemental heard that he needed nutrition, he was baffled for a moment before he retrieved a blue-greenish serum. It glimmered in the bright sunlight that didn't affect Shane the slightest.

He was extremely hungry and had also noticed that his whole body looked deflated which was why he wanted to eat something.

However, when he saw the vial with the blue-greenish serum in the nature Elemetnal's liquefied hands, Shane could only sigh.

"There is a nutrition serum in this vial...according to its description, it tastes sour, but we never tested it ...we have kept ourselves prepared for the case when someone from a foreign race would sustain an injury while on a visit to our planet, but have never really used something...fortunately, we have a time locked vault for such things...hehe."

Shane felt nice to hear that the Elus-race took precautions for unforeseen incidents involving other races as was the case with him. He couldn't help but feel like he had to talk to the Old Emperor about their trading agreement soon.

There were so many high mana technology devices around him that he felt that humans were in a dire need of such things.

Other than that, the mini mana bots the nature Elemental removed from his chest seemed to be useful too as they scanned him and noted every little information of his body such as his vitals.

"Oh, you are really malnourished!" the nature Elemental said as Shane opened the cap of the blue-greenish vial which he gulped down without hesitation.

He had read the description of the serum but it was nothing out of the ordinary

and one could consider it to be a cocktail of all kinds of nutrition mixed together with vitamins and lots of manga-based ingredients.

It was sour, but Shane had already expected that as he turned towards the nature Elemental.

"I'm already feeling much better than before, and your healing skill should be great if I can still feel the effect! Now, I can thank you!"

Smiling brightly toward the Elemental, Shane couldn't help but sense that the nature Elemental's green-brownish liquid mass began to suddenly fluctuate as if he felt shy on receiving the sudden praise.

It took some time for the Elemental to calm down before he said,

"Let me heal you again to refresh the effect! Now that you have enough nutrition, the effect should overlap after I use my healing skill. It should be enough to help you with a speedy recovery during the next few hours!"

When Shane heard this he was about to say something when he heard a familiar voice behind the nature Elemetal as the white-colored, automatic door opened.

"That's good to hear! If you feel better, I would like to ask you, how both you and the Lesser Starlet Fox could have been injured like that.

I can tell that you didn't do anything bad to it, even more so if I consider the fact that the Lesser Starlet Fox didn't want to sleep somewhere else after it had been healed.

After that, we should have a talk about this idiotic ambassador your government sent over...I know that you are not responsible for that but does your race think of us as a joke??"

Kalur stood in the doorframe and Shane was about to respond when the Old Emperor started talking, while the nature Elemental began to use his remaining mana to activate his healing Skill on Shane once again.

"Idiotic ambassador?? What happened? Our race was sincere with the treaty and trading agreement….I...can you explain what happened...please?"

After Old Emperor Kalur was done with his tirade, Shane couldn't help but want to know more and asked the same in a small voice, ignoring the pain he felt.

When the Old Emperor saw this, he knew that Shane was oblivious to his their race's ambassador's deeds and replied,

"Let's just say that I would have called off the treaty and trading agreement if it weren't for you!"

After he said so, Kalur gave him a detailed account, and the moment he finished, he heard a frustrated shout,

"What did you say?? That can't be...we would never...how did someone like this...why did Aunt send…."

Shane was clueless as to how he could explain the situation in order to calm down the Old Emperor.

He was about to jump out of the bed when he sensed that the deep gashes on his chest that were about to heal began to tear open again.

Though, before that could happen, Shane stopped because he couldn't afford to tear open the wound...yet again, only to notice that the Lesser Starlet Fox that had slept near his feet woke up.

Staring at Shane it squeaked in joy which surprised both the Old Emperor and Shane as the fox snuggled itself on Shane's thigh.

He was unable to comprehend what the Lesser Starlet Fox was trying to do which led Shane to blurt out "What are you scheming???"
