Chapter 32
The two young adults, cuddled with one another as they rested on top of the bed. Aurora just wouldn't let go of Gray's arm. Even if he wasn't in the mood for cuddling, the warmth and softness was too good to pass by. After all, who in their right mind would refuse cuddles from such a gorgeous girl?
Not to mention how cute she looked as she hugged his arm.
Unable to resist the temptation, Gray patted her head before stroking her hair a few times. Gray who had been on edge throughout the day finally felt relaxed.
'Why is this so relaxing?' He wondered as he continued.
Aurora on the other hand was happily enjoying her free pats. If it helped Gray's mood, then it was a win-win.
"…Hey… Gray…" Aurora called out to him.
"Yeah?" Gray replied as he continued to stroke his hair.
"Aren't you worried about your family?" She asked.
'Worry?'
"I guess you could say that." Gray replied with a chuckle.
Confused, Aurora looked up to him, tilting her head as it rested on his chest before asking. "What do you mean by that?"
Truthfully, Gray wasn't sure whether what he was feeling was worry or not. His mind and heart had grown so numb to emotions that he wasn't sure what each one was associated with him.
"I'm not sure… What do you mean by worry?" He asked, looking up at the ceiling.
"By worry I mean… Like for example… When you think of losing them or something bad happening to them, your heart hurts… You want to do everything you can to get them back… You hope that they're away from harm… Something like that, I think…" She replied with a saddened expression.
Gray placed his other hand over his chest and thought deeply. He recalled, the feeling he had felt when he discovered the possibility of her still being alive.
'My chest was warm… My heart was pounding… I was definitely happy…'
"Yeah… I'm definitely worried." He replied, before stretching his arm towards the ceiling light. "When I think about anything bad happening to her, my chest tightens, when I think about how I'm close but I can never reach her, it hurts.
Gray's heart which was closed off could no longer deny the fact. Whether it was because of Aurora or just him having found out his sister was alive, his heart which was closed shut and resolved to end it all, was quickly having it's defenses weakened.
He had tried not to over think it, but he was definitely worried about his sister. More than he dared to admit.
In fact, even if his emotions were numbed, he knew that he would still be worried. After all, it was his sister. Whether he liked it or not.
"Her?"
"My sister."
"So you had a sister, that's good…" She spoke, a saddened smile growing on her face.
'Did she remember something bad? I wonder if she has any siblings."
"What about you? Are you worried about your family?" Gray asked
The instant he asked, Gray noticed a change. She lowered her head to hide her expression as she babbled under her breath. "Not really…"
Not knowing what to say to that, Gray stroked her hair once more. It was times like these that he really wished he was more social.
"Why not?" He asked.
Aurora was quiet at first but that slowly turned into trembling.
"H-How about we talk about something el-"
Gray's attempt to change the subject was interrupted.
"No, It's fine…" She uttered as she suddenly sat up, on top of the bed.
Her head hung, and Grey eyes releasing a cold and lifeless vibe. It was the same eyes she had when the two had first met.
"The only family I had… Was my older sister… She was the only one who cared for me… And yet… Because of me she's…" Her eyes trembled as the memories flashed by. "She's dead."

December 4th 2022.
Pesco Shopping Center.
Aurora and her sister could be seen by one of the aisles, getting ready to pay for the food. The two beauties attracted a surprising amount of attention, Aurora's sister especially.
Being a fully grown adult, her curves and proportions were fully developed. Her dark pink hair, scarlet eyes and vibrant red lipstick made her a one of a kind beauty. She had been hit on many times on the way.
But Aurora was far from losing, although she was still growing, she too was a natural beauty. Her light pink hair, Gray eyes and smooth skin was nothing to dismiss. The innocent and gentle aura she emitted was relaxing for many.
People just found themselves being unable to take their eyes off the two, whilst they shopped.
"Are they models?"
"What are you kidding? Those are angels."
"If those are angels then boy am I going to heaven."
Hearing the comments, Aurora's sister couldn't help but chuckle. It was quite the confidence booster after all.
"Fufu… I guess heading out shopping every now and then isn't so bad."
"Flaura, your bad habits are coming out again." Said Aurora with narrowed eyes.
"Guilty as charged." Her sister replied happily.
The two went on with their day, aside from the labyrinths having been announced on the news, nothing else seemed off.
"See, I told you our dad overreacts when he tells us to bring our guards-"
Flaura was interrupted by a blood-curdling scream which suddenly came from down the row.
Confused, the two turned to see what caused it, and when they did, their eyes widened.
There were people, or at least that's what it looked like, lunging at others in the vicinity, biting and feeding on them as they cried out in pain.
"HELP!!!! GET THIS CRAZY GUY OFF OF ME!"
While others went to help, Flaura who saw this quickly grabbed Aurora by the hand before running off with her, others were confused not knowing what to do, but she paid no attention to them.
All she needed was to get her sister to safety.
They ran and ran, reaching the very last section. But by the time they did. It was a hell.
A horde of undead, people missing their body parts, people who were in no condition to be moving, running around and lunging at those who were living. Everyone could be seen panicking and running for their lives. Meanwhile, Flaura was looking for a way to escape with her sister.
Unfortunately for them, the only way was up, and there was no way for them to get there.
"Fuck!" Flaura cursed, looking around desperately for a way.
There was nothing. A dead end, ahead of them the horde could be seen coming.
"Aurora, listen to me closely, you have a special ability, you'll need to use it to-"
Flaura's eyes widened as she saw a zombie prowling towards Aurora, while the two were distracted, it had lunged at her. Without bothering to finish her sentence, Flaura pushed Aurora out of the way, only to end up getting bitten herself.
The zombie lunged at her, biting deep into her neck.. It sunk it's fangs causing blood to heavily pour out.
Dropping to her knees, tears could be seen flowing down her eyes as she stretched out to her hands towards Aurora, and muttered.
"Run…"
Aurora's eyes widened as she saw this, the zombie ripped off a chunk of flesh from Fl aura's neck before going in for another bite, when all of the sudden-
*Crack*
It's head cracked as crimson ice exploded out from within.
Tears flowed down Aurora's face as she called out to her sister, with a hesitant tone.
"Fla…ura?"
She was dead.
