Chapter 178: Bad News

Chapter 178: Bad News

They rested there for half an hour before Jeffrey came with a big smile over his dark face. Such strange contradictions made both of them know what he was going to tell next.

"We've found teams disguised as they were leveling up," he said before sighing.

"Spill out the bad news," Nara said before waving her both hands, "directly on my face."

Bloom nodded and he just took a deep breath before saying:

"Their numbers are in thousands," he said the bad news before adding, "and we recognized many of the famous players working for you know whom."

Bloom understood the meaning but kept his puzzled look lively on his face. "Who exactly?" he asked, while glancing over Nara who ignored his question and asked:

"What team exactly?"

"The death squad," Jeffrey answered and the face of Nara darkened.

"We have little chance here, don't we?" she sighed before turning to Bloom and added, "Can we finish this fast?"

"Even if we did," Jeffrey replied instead, "we would still be attacked outside the dungeon."

She raised her hand to stop him from saying more while waiting for Bloom's answer.

"Frankly we can't," Bloom said the truth yet he was also saying his own decision. "we have to work with what we have right now."

"Then we are doomed," she sighed before explaining, "this squad is famous for its brutality. They don't care if they lost levels, even if they were wiped out, they will still be revived, come back again to hit us."

"That means" Bloom paused while she nodded.

"Exactly as you thought," she said before adding, "they will come soon and hit us, then after they revive themselves they'll come back again and hit us."

"An attrition war?" Bloom muttered.

"Worse, we are facing thousands of maniac players, not mentioning they are really good players," Jeffrey said.

"Can't we retreat then?" she suddenly said.

"Losing a dungeon either way makes me not want to do that," Bloom honestly expressed his thoughts.

"It's not just losing a dungeon," she sighed, "our players will lose a couple more levels if this keeps going this way, and eventually we will lose levels."

Bloom went to silence before making up his mind. "We'll have to kill them without losing many levels then."

"The same old technique? Won't work," she shook her head before adding, "honestly they know our tactic and they won't fall to the bait."

"They can't cross the monsters without losses," Jeffrey said, explaining things more deeply to Bloom, "but they will throw many players to keep the monsters busy and come straight for us."

"Interesting," Bloom smiled as this was the first time for him to hear such a tactic. "Let's say I have the perfect counter for them, what would we lose then?"

"Perfect counter?" Nara shouted in doubt and before she even could say a single word more, Bloom just said in confidence:

"Leave this to me, but I'll need you to work alone in the next hall."

"Are you crazy?" Jeffrey was shocked yet Nara stopped him again.

"we can handle the hall ourselves," Nara said, "but how can you stop thousands of players from getting in?"

"Leave this dilemma to me," Bloom smiled while a small plan appeared in his mind. "Just go now and leave this to me, alright?"

She glanced deeply at him, to see if he was joking or something. "Are they coming to attack us now?" he asked, and Jeffrey nodded.

"Our scouts said they saw many teams heading towards the dungeon entrance."

"Perfect," Bloom stood up before adding, "go now and don't waste more time. This fight will be hard on you."

"And impossible on you," Nara stood as well, while giving him a very deep glance. "Are you sure of this?" she asked again.

Yet he moved, leaving her and Jeffrey behind while saying: "Make Horn delay for a bit, I'll need some time to clear all those hostiles."

She watched his back getting away from her while Jeffrey was on her side feeling weird about this. "Is this ok?"

"He is a big man," she sighed while turning towards the corridor leading to the next hall, "gather the boys up, we need to wrap things there fast and be ready to help him."

"Can we send for more to come?' Jeffrey glanced at her in a meaningful way.

"For a single dungeon?" she asked back, "no way, it'll make us lose valuable spies we planted in his ranks."

"Makes sense," Jeffrey nodded before heading towards the team and making them ready to move on.

"I hope you know what you're doing."

Bloom moved towards the sixth hall while thinking about his options here. "I can use many things, but all I need to do is to use what can't be threatening later to me," he thought for a moment before nodding.

"I have to use them."

For him facing a thousand or couple thousands in the open wasn't a bad thing. He had a myriad of killing skills and moves he could use to kill as many as possible.

Yet he had to use the terrain for his advantage.

"Buy buy buy" as he came to the fourth hall he had already bought many dark agents of the battlefield from the dark auction. Despite being linked to him, this was the only drawback if he wanted to use them inside a system's city or village, not in the open.

"What if they linked them to me?" he shrugged as the only thing he cared about right now was to kill everyone coming here.

"So bad I can only play in such a narrow space," he sighed while holding the tokens of these agents and started summoning them.

The next moment over a thousand dark agents appeared. "Go inside the corridor and don't come out until I call you," he ordered and didn't stop betting over more tokens to take.

Their prices weren't that high, and during the dungeon run here, many of his quests were completed.

His dark points rose up with a terrifying four hundred thousand points, and he was pretty sure this number could be tripled when all of his quests got fulfilled.
