Chapter 149: The Truth About the Challenge

Chapter 149: The Truth About the Challenge

Bloom followed him silently until they moved slightly away from the excited crowd. Bloom was feeling strange and from what he saw; this bidding thing must have a big impact on everyone.

"Do you think this Triflet competition is about you, Dockrey, and the girl?" Antoan said the moment they reached the opened doors.

"Well," Bloom shook his head before adding, "I know nothing at all to answer such a question."

"What do you think?" Antoan asked.

"From what I saw," he turned again to glance over everyone, "this seems like their future hangs with a thread on the result of this challenge."

"You are absolutely right," Antoan said, "this challenge connects many ongoing grand businesses together. It's not only about the three of you, it's about the entire business industry connected to the stock market of you three lots of companies," Antoan paused before adding:

"It's not an exaggeration to say the winner will take it all and the loser will lose everything. So there are many who have their lives depending entirely on the result of this challenge."

"All supporting him?" Bloom asked.

"And you," Antoan said before raising his head, "and her."

"Her supporters too can participate?" Bloom was speechless.

"And haters as well," Antoan answered, "everyone can take part in this."

Bloom went silent for a moment there while the little trick of Nat started to seem more logical at the moment. "What about this bidding then?" he asked.

"It's to gain more money and give obvious support to the two of you," Antoan said, "after all whoever wins will help his supporters, right?"

"Logical," Bloom nodded, "and so they are fervently participating like this?"

"Sure."

"Then I will gain no support at all!"

"Hahaha," Antoan laughed, "you already have enough supporters to keep your face high, plus," he paused before winking, "you said it yourself; you'll crush him. Your previous attitude amazed me and amazed many. Those who support you today will be much relieved and excited by their gains if you succeed in proving your words right."

"Hahaha," Bloom laughed, "don't worry yourself, I guarantee I will win."

"Good, then starting from this day onward, you'll gain much more supporters than ever," Antoan said with a wide smile over his face.

"Alright," Bloom said, "it's your task to connect with my avid fans."

"Fans? Hahaha, such a nice name, I like it," Antoan was already in a good mood. Despite seeing some changes in his master before, this brief exchange with Dockrey just now made his eyes open wide.

His master had changed beyond his wildest dreams!

The two returned and not many noticed their absence except for those on the stage. They all glanced weirdly at the two, yet Bloom didn't look back. His attention was fully immersed on the machine and nothing only.

"Excuse me," he whispered to one of those CEO board members, the closest to him.

"Hi there," the man said before adding, "I liked what you just did, quite brave and impressive. Youth seems to grow faster than fish, hehehe."

Bloom didn't know what that man meant but he answered with a courtesy smile. "What do you need to ask about?" the man asked, "I can see the question popping up from your eyes already."

"It seems the older the wiser, hehehe," Bloom laughed and the man accepted the compliment with another laugh.

"I just have this concern regarding the security of the machine," Bloom finally asked his question.

"Oh, about that" the man paused before turning around, "don't worry, this machine is very secure."

"How much is it?" Bloom asked, not quite satisfied by the answer.

The man turned around again like he was stalked by someone. "Very," and he simply answered, but Bloom didn't find any satisfaction in that.

"Don't worry, this is considered more secure than our main game system," the man added when he noticed the weird unsatisfied look of Bloom.

"Oh," Bloom muttered as he wasn't yet quite satisfied. "Then it can't be hacked, or checked, or investigated by anything," he asked.

"Of course," the man simply replied, "the machine will delete the date instantly after checking your DNA."

"My DNA?" Bloom said in surprise.

"Sure, your DNA will be matched with the DNA in the game center."

The words of the man made Bloom quite skeptical. "I didn't recall the machine I used at home took me blood samples ever," he muttered as he never had such a bizarre experience.

"Well," the man helplessly shook his head, "you youngsters forgot that when you first applied to buy the capsules, you had donated a sample of your blood," the man shook his head, "you are just like my son, he is also oblivion to this like you."

"It seems a youth trait then," Bloom laughed to hide his nervousness, yet his stern eyes that glanced over Antoan made the latter understand what his master desired.

This blood sample must be dealt with!

"Alright," suddenly an old man said loudly interrupting who Bloom was speaking to was about to say. "The bidding is over, and let me say this the result of this bidding is quite surprising," he added while raising a screen in hand while a projector suddenly showed a similar bigger screen on a designed part of the wall for this.

"Dockrey had the lead in our earliest analysis, yet as far as I see; he lost many of his supporters," the man laughed as the result of the bidding showed that Dockrey won but only by three fifth and Terry had two fifth percent of those who were here.

"At least it's a win, hahaha," Dockrey laughed before adding, "this isn't an estimation results breaking contest, it's a challenge to see who is a winner and who is a loser," he tried to make his image unshaken in front of everyone.

As for Bloom, he simply sneered before saying:

"Then the winner won't be decided by the number of supporters. Instead it will be decided there," he pointed towards the machine while adding, "let's see who will win, Mr. confident Dock... rey."

He splitted Dockrey's name and said it in a way that made Dockrey feel some insult again. "Such a big mouth and no actions to support the poor supporters who decided to join you."
