Chapter 144: Dark Monster Taming Bow!
Chapter 144: Dark Monster Taming Bow!
"This doesn't count!" the NPC was stubborn there before Bloom laughed.
"at least I saved your dolls, right?" Bloom said while motioning with his head to his dolls.
"They are yours as well, you should treat them better!"
"Tsk, better than this? You want me to babysit them don't you?" Bloom sarcastically commented.
"Better than throwing them in deadly fights!"
"They are fighters, they should fight!"
"Tsk, cold hearted person like you won't appreciate the gems he has!" the NPC said in a complaining tone before turning his gaze towards the deadly fight up ahead. "Do you plan to keep going like this?" he asked.
"Perhaps," Bloom simply shrugged, "I don't know what else to do to kill them."
"Nice strategy, might work later on."
"I hope," Bloom said before watching the fight with the NPC.
When monsters seemed to calm down, Bloom would move again and instigate their chaos. In ten minutes, most of the monsters were killed and those remaining were heavily wounded.
"Go, kill them all!" he simply gave the order to his dolls and they complied under the worried gazes of the NPC.
"If you are so worried about them, you should find a means to help," Bloom said, trying to drive that good for nothing NPC to act!
"I I can't," he simply shook his head, "I have limitations, y'know."
"Tell me about them," Bloom recalled the long and lonely nights he had in that desolate place in his previous life and sighed bitterly.
"Why do I feel you much understand us? NPCs? Me?" the NPC asked while giving him a questioning glance.
"It's just" Bloom paused before adding a suitable lie, "I had friends in the developing company and I know much about your nature."
"Strange," the NPC muttered, "I thought humans don't know about our secrets," he added.
"Well, most are oblivious to your secret," Bloom nodded, before adding, "Let's keep moving, the monsters are dead now."
He ended the topic right there yet the NPC still had his doubts. The two moved forward while the girls kept gathering the dark sand. During the walk, the forest looked quite desolate.
"I think you overdid it!" the NPC muttered, "thousands of monsters might be the entire forest load of monsters."
"This would be better then," Bloom laughed before adding, "each layer will keep getting harder I suppose."
"Sure, each time you enter a layer, more teams will assault you and each time will have more monsters," the NPC agreed.
"That's what I feared," Bloom sighed, "let's hope the other five layers aren't that bad."
Yet Bloom was destined to be disappointed here. When he passed the layer with ease, and entered the next one; he was startled to see ten teams coming up at him with seventy-five monsters each.
"That's insane!" he muttered before hurrying to use his trump card against them, "darkness might!"
All the monsters attacking him were forced to fight each other. In ten seconds all of them went berserk and Bloom summoned his clones and started fighting them.
Seven hundred and fifty monsters was such a big number! Yet he knew if he left them to kill each other he wouldn't finish this layer in hours like that!
"Come and join the fight," he shouted at his dolls while feeling the pressure once the effect of his skill vanished. He had to wait for it to cooldown, yet he gave the order for his clones to use his skill on turn.
That made the monsters be busy with themselves while he, the clones, and the dolls combined killed them all!
Even with that approach, he still lost two dolls and one clone in the middle of the monsters' berserk status.
"That's not going to work!" the NPC shouted in anger.
"It'll, just stop being a sissy!" Bloom had no mind to care for that NPC. As he just killed that group, another one appeared!
"They are endless!" he complained after killing off the fifth wave and started to get deeper into the forest. "I lost six clones and ten dolls, that's quite a heavy price," he sighed before glancing over his busy girls taking away all the dark sand. "I hope this will be enough to buy more," he muttered.
Yet he knew the issue wasn't just in buying more, but to raise their levels as well. "I need to take a break after this layer, I need to replenish my doll collection," he decided as right now he couldn't clear this quest with the small number he had.
He kept himself busy fighting off those endless hordes of monsters until he managed to cross the layer with many losses. He summoned his clones more than ten times in this period, taking almost three hours to cross the layer, and twenty dolls dead.
"My precious girls" the NPC was shocked and devastated as they crossed the layer. Every now and then he would complain and Bloom would ignore his whining.
"If you are pissed off, find a way to kill those monsters faster!" Bloom said in an angry tone.
"I told you, I can't interfere!" the NPC shouted back.
"At least give some pointers! Tricks and tactics!"
"I have nothing to add to you," the NPC said while looking away, "will you keep going?"
"I need to rest," Bloom honestly replied before taking a place in this peaceful safe zone and opening his auction interface.
"Wow, never thought I would have all these points!" the moment he opened the market he checked his points and found them to exceed five hundred thousand already! "Such a terrifying number this will be enough to buy a thousand tokens and seeds!"
He hurried to open the auction and started his crazy bidding. When he finished placing most of his points there, he checked the quest interface.
"I'm very lucky man!" he laughed, making the nearby NPC glance weirdly at him.
Bloom checked the long list of missions he now had. During the last layer alone, he was sure he personally killed thousands of monsters; so it wasn't strange when he found over fifty quests opened for him.
"and most already have people taking the quests," he was happy to see this, and when he checked some of the quests he found that some already were completed.
"So that's why I gained all these points, no wonder," he muttered to himself before returning to the auction page again.
"As I'm this rich, I can check the higher items then," he started filtering the search and selected the higher price items.
The list wasn't long as it contained fifty items only. "Items belonging to the battlefield had no value to me," he muttered before adding more filters to the search.
The result was so minimal that it made him sigh. "Most of the items here belong to the battlefield," he said when he saw the five items staying in the auction interface after the filters.
He checked the five items to find that three were linked to the dark organizations in the game world. "Dark organization creating token, dark organization upgrade token, and dark organization expansion token what the hell are these?"
He opened each one to see a minimum amount of info provided by the system.
"Dark organization creating token: enables owner to establish his dark organization. Members will be bound by the law of the game system, so they won't be able to betray you."
"Dark organization upgrade token: enables owner to upgrade the rank of his organization to the next level."
"Dark organization expansion token: enables owner to add more members and expand the size of the organization."
"Seems weird!" he muttered before checking the amount of points used in each bid. "Holy cow! The cheapest has five hundred thousand points as bid! It's selling as hot cakes!!" he ignored these three for now.
He didn't have enough points to buy, and he didn't know if he bought them what to do with these tokens. "Might come handy in the future," he muttered before checking the last two items in the short list he had.
"Dark monster taming bow: enables owner to shoot an arrow and have a chance to temporarily tame the dark monster. Only works on dark monsters. The tamed monster will remain tamed until it dies out of hunger or fight. Need to consume one thousand dark points each time an arrow is unleashed. Each tamed monster eats away one thousand dark points on a daily basis. Tamed monsters can be consolidated into tokens and stored into the inventory to be used later. Storing monsters won't affect the consumption."
"Wow, this bow is I love it!!" Bloom's eyes shone brightly while he hurriedly checked his points. "I can tame a hundred monster and keep them with me for a day at least," he thought in regard to his remaining points plus what he would gain later on.
"I need to use them fast on Panty," he decided as these monsters would be a great asset to him.
"The last item though" he hesitated as the last item was really alluring.
"purgatory fire scroll: dark scroll cursed by many and desired by most. Rare item. Can be used infinitely. Each time will cost the user fifty thousand points to be used. When used, a purgatory fire will assault any hostile being around the player in one mile radius. Can be used for an unlimited number of times. The purgatory fire will eat away ten thousand Hp from the targets per second for ten seconds. After it ends, the targets will have an additional burning effect, losing five thousand Hp each second for the next ten seconds."
"This one I love it more," he lacked an AOE skill or item, and this scroll just came in time. "Just the price of it is quite high," he shook his head while comparing the costs needed to maintain the two items working.
"And their prices are high as well," he checked the two. The bow reached two hundred thousand points while the scroll hit the three hundred thousand mark already.
"I'll go for the bow for now, tsk, I'm so poor," he shook his head before placing his bid. He just spent two hundred thousand buying the tokens and seeds, and now he had three hundred thousand points available.
"I hope more quests will be completed," he sighed while watching the bid getting fiercer when another one added ten thousand dark points to the auction.
"Let's see how you will deal with this," he didn't hesitate and placed three hundred and eighty thousand points in his bidding, beating the other guy with more than fifty thousand points in one move.
And that one dropped the race afterwards and Bloom got the item after five minutes with no further ado.
