Novel's Extra: I Awakened The Strongest Physique From The Start

CHAPTER 106 - Date Ends.

Today, during this date, Mira had experienced many things, many emotions, and many moments—they were all good things.

Alex knew that Mira was a blank board right now, and these emotions that she experienced would be the first thing to be written on that board.

Even if those emotions were to disappear later on, the first things to be written on a blank board—especially when it is something so memorable that Mira wouldn't want to forget.

If fear of something remained one of those first emotions, then it wasn't a good thing—it was bad, actually.

So, Alex didn't waste time and quickly asked Mira what the matter was, only to see her lowering her head without a word. Alex, however, knew that she would speak; he could tell that she was collecting her thoughts and putting them into words.

"I-I am scared... of never feeling all of this again," she spoke, her shoulders trembling as she kept looking at their intervened fingers, her grip tightening.

For the first time in her life, Mira felt fear—fear of not being able to experience these things ever again. But she wasn't done yet. There was still left for her to say. It was pretty clear from the way her fingers gripped Alex's sleeve as if telling him to wait, which Alex did.

"I feel scared... because I don't know how to express myself," Mira added, her tone desperate, making Alex unable to stop his fingers from holding her chin and making her look at him.

It was then that he saw her expression, for the first time being different from her always-blank expression, but he didn't feel good about it. Her face seemed like a girl who was scared of losing her everything right now.

'I can be a bit selfish, right?' Alex questioned inwardly, not really asking anyone for an answer, but he still got an answer.

[You can be as selfish as you want to be, Alex. Don't waste this life of yours.]

Those were the words Sophie said, and Alex could tell that they were her sincere thoughts. He could feel her warmth just from those words alone. He could imagine her smiling as she hugged the pillow, imagining it to be him.

So, without further thought, he pulled Mira closer, his lips finding hers as they touched each other.

'Huh?' Mira froze. She couldn't understand anything; it was as if her brain had just short-circuited. She just kept staring into Alex's eyes as he looked deep into her while feeling his warm lips on hers.

The kiss wasn't intense, nor was it laced with lust. It was a simple touch of lips with a sense of warmth and reassurance. Mira could feel it as well—the raw emotions of Alex that flowed out of his eyes.

The gentleness and relief she felt from the kiss washed away all of her worries without a single word needed, but Alex didn't move away, nor did Mira want him to. Her hand had already found his back, holding him tightly as she closed the gap between them, searching for more of his warmth.

Alex's palm moved up her cheeks, caressing them as he finally parted. But as he saw Mira trying to move forward, wanting more of it, he paused for a moment, Zahara's image flashing past his eyes.

Acting upon the moment, he had forgotten that there was a girl other than Sophie in his life now. And that girl, just like Sophie, was ready to give her all for him. A feeling of guilt clawed at his heart, only to feel his lips warm again.

Looking at Mira, who, not even knowing what she was doing, was kissing him right now, her eyes filled with emotions she couldn't even define, Alex couldn't help but question himself, 'I am a scumbag, aren't I?'

{You aren't...}

Sophie, who was in the dream space hearing his thoughts, wanted to say those words to Alex, but she knew that it wouldn't matter right now. This time, he wasn't looking for assurance—he was blaming himself right now. So, she just kept quiet.

Alex could've easily found a way to solve Mira's emotional turmoil if he wanted to, and without involving a kiss as that—he knew that perfectly well—but he still kissed her. Even now, as she kissed him as if it were the most natural thing, he didn't stop her.

'I should just push her away right now,' he thought as he realized just what he was becoming, but as his eyes looked into Mira's eyes, desperation and fear still lingering in them, he paused, his expression softening as his hands, instead of pushing her away, just pulled her closer.

'How can I push you when you look at me like that...?' Alex didn't yet love Mira—he wasn't going to say that he did. But he cared for her. He shared a connection with her. Both of them made it hard for him to push her away, especially when she looked so... fragile.

Mira had noticed the change in his expression; there was no way she couldn't with her eyes fixed on his, but those changes made her scared, precisely the reason why Alex couldn't push her away.

If he did it now, then she would be broken from the inside. Instead of doing good like he was trying to, all Alex would do is break her more.

So, Alex just hugged Mira, and after a while, when Mira was short of breath, she finally parted; her temple touched with Alex, and her rough breaths brushed against Alex's skin.

"You don't have to be scared," he breathed, his words catching Mira as she looked into his eyes, which seemed more resolute than ever. "This was the first time, but it won't be the last time of us being together like this."

His words, calm and clear, were like the best thing Mira could want to hear right now, making her smile with tears flashing in her eyes. She was elated to know that these changes—these feelings that she never knew existed, seeing how colorful the world can be, and knowing that she was capable of feeling things to such an extent—wouldn't be something she would never feel again.

After all, Mira, who never feared anything until now, was slowly starting to feel fear. She was finally able to understand why people felt fear and why they wanted to keep living. Mira now knew that she would want to keep living as well, even if it was just for these types of moments—she would do whatever it takes to stay alive.

"I know it must be scary in there—not being able to feel anything or understand it—but trust me when I say this..." His gaze locked into Mira as he held her cheeks. "I will find a way to make it all better."

It was then as if that was all Mira needed to hear, her tears—not one of sadness but happiness—started to pour out of her eyes uncontrollably. Her expression had returned to normal, but her tears didn't stop as she hugged Alex, her face buried in his fancy coat, staining it with tears.n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om

"Thank... you," she muttered, her words getting muffled but reaching Alex's ears without a problem. And Alex just sighed at that, patting her back as his thoughts still focused on Zahara, thinking of a way to make up to her.

He knew that Zahara wouldn't mind it. She had already said that she didn't care how many girls Alex had, but he felt obligated to tell her about these things and not make her feel left out at any moment in time.

They kept hugging each other, enveloped in a calming silence, but as if the world didn't want there to be too much good in one place, the silence was broken by a series of heavy footsteps accompanied by a loud voice.

"Let me through?! I want to see who dares to walk into a place booked by the son of the demon lord!" Discover more content at empire

Both Alex and Mira had their expressions change, their eyes turning sharp as they knew that it wasn't the time for them to stay like this.
