Chapter 284: Chapter 284: Letting Konan See the Original Naruto Story

"Naruto Uzumaki!?" Konan hadn't expected the figure walking into the cave to be Naruto Uzumaki. This left her astonished.

With both her and Nagato's strength, could they really be defeated by Naruto? Even though he was the Jinchuriki of the Nine-Tails, that still seemed highly unlikely.

With doubts swirling in her mind, Konan continued watching patiently. The illusion scene began to change.

As soon as Naruto entered the cave, Konan instinctively stepped in front of Nagato to shield him.

"Konan, stand aside. It's fine," Nagato, emaciated and weak, spoke calmly.

Upon hearing Nagato's words, Konan hesitated for a moment but eventually stepped back in silence.

Naruto, now staring directly at Nagato, asked, "Are you the real Pain?"

"Do you hate me?" Nagato asked in return, locking eyes with Naruto.

Even though this illusion was crafted by Akira using his Sharingan, it was an exact recreation of the scenes from the original story Akira had seen in his past life. Using the power of the Sharingan, he perfectly projected these memories for Konan to witness firsthand.

From Naruto and Nagato's conversation, Konan quickly grasped what had happened. Nagato must have done something terrible to the Hidden Leaf Village, leading Naruto to confront him with hatred.

However, because Naruto was Nagato's junior in their shared teachings under Jiraiya, Nagato began discussing the meaning of peace with him.

As their conversation continued, the scene in the illusion shifted once again.

It now showed the Hidden Leaf Village.

The village had been completely destroyed by the overwhelming power of Nagato's Almighty Push (Shinra Tensei), leaving only the Hokage Rock intact.

Konan was shocked, realizing that Nagato had actually destroyed the entire Hidden Leaf Village.

Yet, something seemed off. Upon closer inspection, the village wasn't exactly like the one she knew.

First, the Hokage Rock looked different. In reality, a new building had already been constructed on top of it, but here, the area was just a forest.

Moreover, on the Hokage Rock, the face of the Fifth Hokage was not Uchiha Fugaku but Tsunade Senju!

Did Akira make a mistake while showing her this future? Or was there another explanation? It seemed unlikely that he would have such a significant oversight in his illusion.

Inside the cave, Naruto and Nagato continued their conversation, each speaking passionately about their beliefs on hatred, pain, and peace.

As Konan listened, she became more and more astonished.

Naruto had actually defeated the Six Paths of Pain?

And the most shocking part was that Naruto truly forgave Nagato? It wasn't just lip service- The genuinely let go of his hatred?

Konan couldn't believe it. Nagato had completely destroyed the Hidden Leaf Village, and Konan had witnessed firsthand the numerous deaths and the devastation it caused.

But here was Naruto, sincerely letting go of his hatred?

In the illusion, even Nagato himself was deeply moved by Naruto's words, eventually kneeling under the weight of Naruto's powerful persuasion.

Finally, in a moment that left Konan utterly speechless, Nagato formed hand seals and used the Rinnegan's ultimate technique-Rinne Rebirth (Rinne Tensei no Jutsu).

Under the influence of the Rinnegan's power, all the dead villagers in Konoha began to return to life one by one.

"What... What did you just do?" Naruto asked, his voice trembling with awe. He could sense the immense chakra Nagato had just released.

"I... I'm just trying to make amends for what I've done, as much as I can..." Nagato replied weakly, breathing heavily after casting the technique.

"Naruto! The villagers... They're all coming back to life!" Shikamaru, who had accompanied Naruto, emerged from behind him, giving Naruto an update on the situation in the village.

"They've come back to life?" Naruto repeated, his expression one of pure shock as he turned to face Nagato.

At that moment, Naruto completely let go of his hatred for Nagato.

He realized the immense toll this technique had taken on Nagato, and he understood that Nagato had sacrificed his life to bring peace, even though their ideas of peace had initially clashed.

In the end, Nagato passed away.

He entrusted his hope for peace to Naruto, believing in Naruto's vision of the future. Nagato was willing to sacrifice himself, using the last of his strength to perform the Rinne Rebirth technique, which ultimately led to his death.

With that, the illusion came to an end.

Akira released the genjutsu, bringing them both back to reality.

Konan's face showed the deep shock she felt.

While much of what she had seen differed from the reality she knew-like the Fifth Hokage being Tsunade instead of Fugaku-the profound discussion between Naruto and Nagato about peace, and Nagato's ultimate sacrifice to resurrect the villagers, had deeply moved her. She had never expected Nagato's story to end this way.

"Is that... Nagato's fate?" Konan asked Akira, her voice filled with awe.

"To be precise, that was originally supposed to be his fate. But because I intervened and changed the course of history, many things have turned out differently. For example, if I hadn't altered the fate of the Uchiha clan, Tsunade would have been the Fifth Hokage," Akira

explained.

Hearing this, Konan finally understood.

No wonder the Hidden Leaf Village she saw in the illusion differed from reality. Akira had shown her a version of the future from a timeline where he hadn't stopped the Uchiha

massacre.

Even though it was a potential future, it was still grounded in reality, leaving Konan with a deep sense of contemplation.

She never imagined that Nagato's fate would be to place his hope for peace in Naruto's hands and to die in the process.

Ultimately, though, Nagato's fate wasn't necessarily tragic.

In his final moments, he had regained his conviction, choosing a path that felt true to him,

and even managing to atone for his destruction of the Leaf Village.

After thinking for a while, Konan was able to accept this ending.

At least in his final moments, Nagato had found clarity and a sense of purpose once again.

"And what about my fate? What happens to me?" Konan asked after a moment of silence, now

curious about her own future.

Akira chuckled softly at the question.

"Sure, if you really want to know. Let's continue," Akira said with a smile.

With that, he activated his Sharingan once more, casting another genjutsu to show Konan her

own future.

As the three tomoe of Akira's Sharingan spun, both Akira and Konan were pulled back into the

illusionary world.

This time, Konan's mindset was much calmer, having already experienced a vision of the future. She waited patiently to see what her own fate would be.

The scene now shifted to a vast expanse of open water, where Konan could be seen standing calmly, as if waiting for something.

From her appearance, it was clear that this scene wasn't far off from the present-this was something she would experience soon.

After a while, the air began to distort, and a figure wearing a mask appeared in front of her, emerging from a swirling vortex of space-time.

"You know why I'm here. Hand over the Rinnegan," the masked man, Tobi, said coldly, without any pleasantries.

"So... the masked man?" Konan thought to herself, her heart tightening as she watched the

scene unfold.

She knew full well the power the masked man wielded.

But with Nagato already gone, it made sense that Tobi would come for the Rinnegan, just as Akira had mentioned earlier.

Of course, Konan had no intention of handing over the Rinnegan, as that would go against

Nagato's will.

Logically, this confrontation made perfect sense.

Still, Konan was surprised by her reaction.

Her natural instinct would have been to commit suicide to keep the Rinnegan's location a

secret, but here, she was preparing to fight instead.

Did she believe she had found a way to defeat the masked man?

"This is strange... What could this plan be?" Konan wondered silently, curious about what she

might have up her sleeve in this future vision.

"I will not give you Nagato's Rinnegan," the illusionary Konan said with unwavering

determination.

"I'll correct you—those eyes were never his to begin with. I'm simply reclaiming what's

rightfully mine," Tobi replied darkly.n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om

With no further words exchanged, the battle began as Konan struck first.
