1253 I Can Revive Her (Part 2)
"It seems we don't have to wait," Sylvan said, his voice laced with amusement. "They are already back."
Evan turned his head in the direction Sylvan was looking and noticed silver-white ripples spreading across the air.
Suddenly, the space in that area was distorted, and moments later, Anastasia and Ashley emerged from the disruption.
Elora, who had been perched on top of the ice cocoon, immediately stood up upon seeing Anastasia and eagerly waved her hands toward her.
"Mother, I poked the eyes of eight wom-"
Before Elora could finish her report and demand her reward, Anastasia transformed into a streak of black light and appeared in front of Sylvan like a ghost.
"Wha-!" Sylvan exclaimed, startled by Anastasia's sudden appearance. But before he could react-
Bang!
A fist smashed into his face, sending him flying backwards like a rocket.
"Wait a moment, honey. I will prepare your reward after I teach this guy a lesson," Anastasia said to Elora, who still had her hands raised expectantly.
Without missing a beat, she sped after Sylvan, who was still tumbling through the air from the force of her punch.
Evan and Velgoth, standing at a safe distance, broke into a cold sweat as they watched the scene unfold.
"W-who is this death goddess?" Velgoth stammered, his voice trembling and he was utterly shocked that Sylvan, a Rank Six Core Evolver was being beaten so mercilessly.
Evan opened his mouth to answer but found himself at a loss for words. In the end, he turned toward Ashley, silently asking for an explanation.
Ashley sighed helplessly, understanding Evan's unspoken question. From her storage ring, she took out her communication crystal and tossed it to him.
Evan scanned the messages Sylvan had sent to Ashley earlier and immediately felt exasperated.
"This old man..." He muttered, shaking his head. "He is so old, but instead of acting like a wise elder, he behaves like a reckless young master who constantly courts death."
He handed the communication crystal back to Ashley before turning to her with a curious expression.
"I heard you went out to repair some teleportation formations. Is everything okay?" Evan asked, deliberately ignoring Sylvan's anguished screams coming from the distance.
Ashley hesitated for a moment, her face momentarily clouded with confusion as she didn't understand what Evan was talking about.
She hadn't been repairing teleportation formations; she had been collecting scraps on the battlefield.
'That old man is trying to protect my dignity... She suddenly thought and immediately nodded her head.
"Yes, some of the teleportation formations weren't functioning properly. But it wasn't anything serious."
"I see," Evan replied with a thoughtful nod. Then, as if remembering something, he asked, "If I am not mistaken, Anastasia went to the Dragon Islands, right? Since you came back with her, did you go there too?"
Ashley nodded again.
"I received a message from Anastasia while I was repairing formations (collecting scraps). She said the dragons were trying to open a void tunnel to rescue Eldrakar from the Tomb of the Ancient and asked me to help destroy it....
Ashley then recounted everything in detail, including being caught by Drozon and how even Alistair Nightfall had shown up on the Dragon Islands.
Evan raised an eyebrow as he processed the information, a pensive expression crossing his face.
"It seems Eldrakar and Baphomet's situation isn't looking good," He said, a faint smile appearing. He was pleased that Ashley had managed to destroy the void tunnel the dragons had been creating to rescue Eldrakar.
"Although I destroyed the tunnel, there is a high chance they will try to create another one," Ashley added.
Evan nodded, agreeing with her assessment as he knew the dragons wouldn't give up so easily.
"By the way, what is this ice cocoon you are carrying?" Ashley asked, her gaze falling on the cocoon. "The cold energy emanating from it
is immense."
"A bag of big trouble," Evan replied with a sigh, shaking his head.
"A bag of trouble?" Ashley repeated, her eyebrows raised in
confusion.
"I will explain everything once the others are back. They will need to
hear about this time bomb too," Evan said, glancing into the distance where Sylvan was still being tossed around like a rag doll by
Anastasia.
"Is this guy related to the ice cocoon?" Ashley asked, gesturing toward Velgoth, who was staring at the fight, dazed by the chaos
unfolding before him.
"No, but he is just as important as the ice cocoon," Evan replied
cryptically.
Ashley shook her head, smiling faintly. "It seems a lot has happened
when you went out."
"Indeed..." Evan replied with a helpless smile. "Many absurd things happened to me during my time out."
"If those things hadn't happened, you probably wouldn't have
reached mid-level Rank Three so quickly," Ashley remarked, her smile widening. Like Sylvan, she was also stunned by Evan's rapid advancement.Nôv(el)B\\jnn
Evan didn't respond, instead glancing at Elora, who was growing increasingly impatient as she watched Anastasia pummel Sylvan. 'She is really eager for her jumbo feast,' He thought to himself and with a simple gesture, he took out several cotton candies from his shadow storage and sent them to Elora using his spiritual power. "Here, eat these for now," He said, watching as Elora's eyes lit up with delight at the sight of the cotton candy.
As they waited for Anastasia and Sylvan to return, a thought crossed
Evan's mind and he turned to Ashley.
"By the way, where is Cedar?"
"I heard he was preparing to break through to Rank Three a few
days ago," Ashley replied. "Why do you ask?"
Evan raised an eyebrow at the news. He was surprised Cedar was
close to a breakthrough, especially since in the Tomb of the Ancient, Cedar had spent most of his time searching for the World Core Plant for Sylvan rather than gathering resources for himself. Although surprised, Evan didn't dwell on it. Instead, he leaned
closer to Ashley and lowered his voice.
"I can finally revive Carla."
