Chapter 187: Prison
Chapter 187: Prison
Before the door fully opened, Long Yu pulled her to hide in the corner of the wine cellar. Soon, another waiter came in, pushing an empty wine cart.
Yao Ran and Long Yu waited patiently for the waiter to load the wine barrels onto the wine cart. Just when the waiter was about to leave, Yao Ran nodded to Long Yu.
The next second, Long Yu rushed out without making a sound. He grabbed the waiter's arms and covered his mouth.
When the waiter realized what had happened, Long Yu locked his arms behind his back, and the waiter could only helplessly watch Yao Ran walk out of her hiding place.
"Umph! Umph!" The waiter tried to shout for help, but Long Yu covered his mouth tightly.
Yao Ran looked at him and said, "Don't make a sound. Otherwise, I will make you shut up forever."
Hearing this, the waiter nodded quickly like a chicken pecking at rice. He watched in shock as Yao Ran opened the wine barrel on the wine cart and poured the sleeping powder into it.
After handling the wine, Yao Ran turned to look at the waiter. The moment her cold gaze fell on him, the waiter's face turned pale, and his body shook with fear.
Long Yu then said to the waiter, "If you want to stay alive, don't make a sound."
The waiter hurriedly nodded. After Long Yu let him go, the waiter hastily took a few steps back.
Looking at Long Yu and Yao Ran, he trembled as he said, "Please don't kill me. I don't know anything. I'm just a waiter."
Yao Ran and Long Yu exchanged a glance before beginning to interrogate him. It turned out that the waiter really was just a worker.
Before the natural disasters hit the world, he worked as a bartender at a well-known bar. The boss valued his skills very much, and his income was enough to rent a house in the Luxi community. Unfortunately, the world ended before he could enjoy his life.
When the Crouching Tiger Gang took over the Luxi Community, his girlfriend broke up with him and hooked up with one of the gang's top brass.
After successfully climbing to a higher position, his ex-girlfriend asked the man to kill his entire family and beat him to death.
Fortunately, one of the gang's members had seen him working in the bar before. After they knew that he could mix drinks, they forced him to work as their bartender for free. As long as he could mix drinks for them, they would spare his life.
After recounting his story to Long Yu and Yao Ran, the waiter couldn't help but shed tears as he recalled how his family had died.
Yao Ran looked at the waiter and asked, "Is the wine for those at the party?"
The waiter wiped away his tears and nodded. "Yes. The leader likes excitement and uses the indoor swimming pool as a wine pool."
"After we filled the swimming pool with wine, he ordered the captive women to be stripped naked and sent into the pool to dance and entertain the guests. While the women danced, everyone would drink the wine from the pool."
Hearing this, Long Yu frowned, disgusted by the leader's strange hobby. But for Yao Ran, this was an opportunity.
She asked, "Do you want to avenge your family?"n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
The waiter was stunned for a moment before decisively replying, "Yes."
With his answer, Yao Ran opened her backpack. She took out ten packs of sleeping powder from her space and poured them into the barrel of wine.
After mixing the powder with the wine, she said, "Pour this wine into the swimming pool."
The waiter wasn't stupid; he knew exactly what she wanted to do. His eyes lit up with the desire for revenge, and he quickly said, "Leave it to me."
Yao Ran wasn't worried that he would betray her. She recognized the familiar thirst for vengeance in his eyes.
After watching the waiter push the wine cart to the apartment building and take the elevator upstairs, Yao Ran quickly emptied the wine cellar. With the wine cellar now empty, the two of them left the area and went to check the other apartment buildings.
Since the waiter had mentioned that the leader would make the captive women dance for the guests, there had to be a place where the prisoners were held.
Long Yu and Yao Ran searched the other four apartment buildings. After hours of searching, they finally discovered that the prisoners were kept in building six.
Seeing that only two men were guarding the prison, Long Yu raised his hand and sent two wind blades toward them.
Swish! Swish!
"Ugh!"
"Akh!"
Thud! Thud!
The guards fell into the snow and died within seconds. After ensuring there were no more guards around, Long Yu and Yao Ran made their way to the prison.
Before entering the building, Long Yu dragged the two corpses and hid them while Yao Ran stored the guns in her warehouse.
Long Yu then cut the lock with his wind blade and slowly pushed the door open. Seeing that no one was around, they sneaked into the building and quietly closed the door behind them. With their night vision goggles, they could see clearly without any light.
Long Yu and Yao Ran looked around but didn't spot anyone. They searched for a while before finding a trace of dried blood on the ground. They followed it and saw that it led downstairs.
Though the snow had buried four floors, there was no snow inside the building. However, because it was surrounded by snow, the temperature down there was extremely low.
Yao Ran and Long Yu exchanged a glance before cautiously heading downstairs. After a few minutes of walking, they finally reached the floor. What they saw made their expressions turn
grim.
The entire floor had no walls resembling the warehouse, but there were countless iron cages. The only source of light and warmth was a few torches placed on the walls.
