Chapter 756: Proof of Transcendence, The Heavenly Tribulation Arrives

The sky looked like it had been sliced open by a huge gash, and through the crack, dazzlingly colorful hues shone ever more brilliantly. Yet that stunning radiance carried a lethal killing intent!

Billowing dark clouds rolled in, gathering above Mount Tushan as crimson lightning arcs flashed.

That was the Annihilation Lightning.

Qin Feng’s heart skipped a beat. The heavenly tribulation for proving one’s transcendence realm was truly extraordinary.

The Annihilation Lightning, as the culmination of the Heavenly Tribulation, usually only appeared at the very end. But now, it had manifested right from the start.

This could only mean one thing – the impending Heavenly Tribulation would be even more terrifying!

Liu Jianli and Cang Feilan sensed the chaotic flows in heaven and earth, and withdrew from their enlightened states. 

The two looked up at the sky with grave expressions.

“Vixen, you’re about to brave the tribulation,” Cang Feilan murmured.

Gong Cang frowned deeply: “I was fortunate enough to witness Commander Fu’s transcendence, and back then the sky looked like an arid, cracked wasteland – shattered beyond repair.  “

“Everyone retreated over a thousand zhang away, not daring to approach the danger zone even a step. They only dared to watch from a distance.”

‘It’s that dangerous.’ Qin Feng looked up at the sky, suddenly thinking of something. “Then isn’t it dangerous for us to stay here?”

Gong Cang didn’t respond, only nodding slightly.

But when he turned to look, Qin Feng had already led his two wives, joining the fleeing fox tribe.

“Lord Gong, what are you standing around for? Hurry and run!”

Su Tianyue was at the second-grade peak realm – the methods she employed were no easy feat to dispel.

So that’s how it is, I thought my degenerate soul had awakened, Qin Feng inwardly heaved a sigh of relief.

“Over the millennia, all my divided selves have now merged back into one. The last remaining part was the one who went with you to the Imperial City. Now, with unification complete, I can attempt to cross the transcendence realm threshold here and now.”

Lightning dragons exploded in the sky, as if declaring that such a breakthrough would be no easy feat.

Qin Feng said: “Chief Su, being an auspicious fox, you naturally have heavenly blessings. I believe you will safely pass through this transcendence tribulation. So why did you drag me back here?”

The two looked up as a crimson lightning bolt tore through the heavens.

“Chi Qi!” With a mental roar, his Chi Qi manifestation appeared.

Having devoured yin-yang energies several times, the current Chi Qi was of an unimaginably larger size compared to before.

It used the void as steps, climbing upwards as lightning wreathed its body, swelling against the winds!

A resounding roar shook heaven and earth.

The endless sea of roiling Annihilation Lightning bolts immediately stilled and its momentum receded.

However, within the clouds, a crimson light flashed as the annihilation lightning converged, and in a matter of moments, it merged into a fanged, clawed beast that bared its teeth at Chi Qi.

The two lightning beasts stared each other down from afar, the murderous atmosphere oppressive like a collapsing mountain. 

With Chi Qi drawing the Annihilation Lightning’s power away, what remained as a threat to Su Tianyue was naturally minimal.

From the cracked heavens, phantasmal rays in dazzling hues shone ever brighter as the scenery shifted rapidly:

There were frozen snowfields stretching for thousands of miles.

There were raging, boundless domains of flames.

There were pitch-black mountain peaks where ferocious beasts lurked.

Even knowing these were illusions, under the principles of illusion they were indistinguishable from reality!

“Thank you,” Su Tianyue said softly, then with a swing of her nine tails, fox fires erupted in an instant, shattering the descending Annihilation Lightning bolts.

She ascended into the illusion realm – that was the true battlefield.

Qin Feng glanced over, then turned toward the beast formed from the converged Annihilation Lightning.

It was clearly more powerful than Chi Qi.

The two lightning beasts roared at each other before clashing head-on violently.

Like a sedan crashing into a semi-truck, the weaker and smaller Chi Qi staggered from the impact and its lightning arcs dimmed visibly!

Qin Feng grew anxious and was about to intervene when Senior Xuan Yi’s ethereal form appeared.

“Chi Qi is a manifestation that originated from the primordial Annihilation Lightning. However, your strength is too weak. It is cultivated in your Divine Sea, and its own strength is also subject to many limitations.”

“If it can successfully devour its opponent in this battle, it will not only benefit Chi Qi, but you as well.”

Chi Qi and the lightning beast clashed again, the raging thunderbolts illuminating the entire realm.

Qin Feng immediately did as instructed.

As verdant lightning flashed, the plump little Bai Su landed on Qin Feng’s shoulder. It nuzzled his cheek affectionately before being drawn to the massive commotion in the sky.

Seeing its playmate Chi Qi being bullied, Bai Su widened its beady eyes, waving its little arms and babbling urgently.

The sprout on its head glowed green as jade lightning shot into the clouds, merging with Chi Qi.

In no time at all, the latter’s injuries were fully healed!

Roar!

Chi Qi turned its head, showing a grateful expression, and nodded before instantly charging at the lightning beast again without hesitation. 

The two grappled fiercely, causing space itself to tremble continuously.

“What is that?” Gong Cang outside Mount Tushan wondered in astonishment, having never seen Chi Qi before.

Because Qin Feng was left behind by Su Tianyue, Liu Jianli and others did not leave even though they knew there was danger here. 

“That is something that follows my husband and it is capable of controlling the Annihilation Lightning’s might,” Liu Jianli answered softly.

Upon hearing this, Gong Cang’s eyes went wide with shock.

As one of the Twelve Divine Generals, he naturally knew many secrets, especially regarding the heavenly tribulations of transcendence.

It was no exaggeration to say that the lightning tribulation was an inevitable ordeal within the Heavenly Tribulation. Yet no one would wish for their lightning tribulation to be the Annihilation Lightning!

For that was akin to a life-or-death struggle.

When Commander Fu barely survived her tribulation, apart from the horrific trial of Dao principles, a major reason was the threat of the Annihilation Lightning.

However, how could Gong Cang have imagined that Qin Feng, who was only at the Third Stage of Literature Saint Of Dao Lineage, could actually control the Annihilating Lightning to such an extent?

Cang Feilan’s beautiful brows furrowed deeply. “That damned vixen must have brought my husband here from the start intending for him to help her face the Annihilation Lightning!”

Qin Feng glanced at Su Tianyue’s battlefield. She had already immersed herself in the illusion realm, constantly circulating her formidable inner energies to deal with the Dao principles’ tribulation.

Yet her pallid complexion, disheveled hair, and tattered clothes all revealed that at this moment, Su Tianyue was going through hell.
