Chapter 74 What His Wife Would Think About That
As Feng Fan, Tan Wei, and Bai Tao made their way toward the Fourth Peak, Feng Fan noticed something unexpected.
"Brother Bai, you've also reached the 8th Qi Gathering realm? How did you break through so quickly?" he asked, genuinely surprised.
He could understand Tan Wei's progress, after all, Tan Wei had an immortal alchemist assisting him, and he had already proven his talent by once reaching the Foundation Establishment realm.
But Bai Tao's rapid improvement was another story.
Bai Tao smirked, and for a moment, Feng Fan had to resist the urge to slap him.
'No wonder so many protagonists end up punching young masters. Faces like his really make you want to,' Feng Fan thought wryly.
"It's all thanks to Brother Wei," Bai Tao said smugly. "Brother Feng, you might not realize this, but Brother Wei's pills are extraordinary! He can create pills with 0% pill poison!"
Feng Fan raised an eyebrow, intrigued.
"Since you're not from here, you might not know," Bai Tao continued, "but most pills contain pill poison. The less pill poison a pill has, the better its efficacy. Not only can you consume more of them without side effects, but you also don't have to waste qi suppressing the poison."
Feng Fan nodded to himself. 'As expected of an immortal-tier alchemist. His skills have already surpassed the mortal realm.'
Before long, Feng Fan and his companions arrived at the Fourth Peak. After asking a random disciple for directions, they found Elder Peng's residence.
Standing in front of the door, Feng Fan didn't bother knocking. Instead, he shouted:
"I saw Elder Peng kissing another woman at Cloudveil City! I can't help but wonder what his wife would think about that."
Slap!
The sharp sound of a slap echoed through the air.
Tan Wei and Bai Tao froze, their jaws dropping.
'What is this guy doing?' they both thought, stunned by Feng Fan's audacity.
Muffled shouting erupted from inside the house. After a brief heated exchange, the voices subsided, and the door creaked open.
Elder Peng stepped out, his expression livid. A bright red handprint stood out on his cheek, evidence of the chaos Feng Fan had just unleashed.
His sharp eyes locked onto Feng Fan, his brows furrowing with fury. "Kid, you'd better have a good reason for this nonsense. Otherwise…"
Feng Fan chuckled. "Relax, Elder Peng. I've got a pleasant surprise for you! This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity!"
"Oh? And what might that be?" Elder Peng asked skeptically, clearly unconvinced.
"This guy right here!" Feng Fan declared, pointing at Tan Wei. "He's a genius in the Alchemy Dao, destined to surpass everyone! Please, test him however you see fit."
Tan Wei was stunned. 'Why wasn't I informed about this?'
Elder Peng glanced at Tan Wei with a scrutinizing gaze. "Lad, what tier of alchemy have you reached?"
Knowing Elder Peng's reputation as a powerful alchemist, Tan Wei responded with the utmost respect. He cupped his hands and bowed slightly before answering.
"Elder Peng, I am a tier 1 alchemist, capable of creating peak tier 1 pills."
Elder Peng nodded thoughtfully. "Not bad. At least you show proper respect, unlike this brat here," he said, casting a sharp look at Feng Fan, whose face bore an idiotic grin.
"Since you're already here, how about I test your skills?" Elder Peng continued, his tone calm but firm. "What do you say?"
Tan Wei nodded confidently. "I accept."
"Good. Follow me," Elder Peng said, motioning for them to enter.
The group stepped inside, and Feng Fan couldn't help but notice the similarities to Elder Duan's house. Like Duan's, Elder Peng's home also had a second floor.
The upper floor consisted of a single room, but it was packed with shelves brimming with jars of herbs and pills. The air was thick with the aroma of medicinal ingredients.
At the center of the room stood a massive cauldron, easily twice the size of the one Feng Fan had used for body cultivation when he first arrived on Red Pole.
"Feel free to use my cauldron if you wish, or place yours beside it and use that instead. Show me your best pill," Elder Peng said, gesturing toward the large cauldron at the center of the room.
Tan Wei nodded politely. "I didn't bring my own, so I'll use yours. Thank you."
Elder Peng raised an eyebrow, slightly surprised, but chose not to comment.
Most alchemists preferred to use their own cauldrons, ones they were familiar with. Every cauldron had unique characteristics, and adjusting to an unfamiliar one during a concoction often posed a significant challenge.
'Since he dared to use mine so casually, he must be quite confident in his skills,' thought Elder Peng, observing Tan Wei.
"I'll create a peak tier 1 qi gathering pill," Tan Wei declared confidently.
Without wasting time, he quickly gathered the required ingredients, arranged them neatly beside him, and filled the cauldron with water.
Since he didn't have a special fire, he relied on a normal flame for the process, which was common for most pills up to the third tier. Once the water reached the right temperature, just below boiling, he began adding the herbs one by one.

Tan Wei skillfully stirred and manipulated the mixture to extract its medicinal essence before adding the next ingredient. The process was meticulous and deliberate.
Feng Fan, however, found the entire scene painfully dull. Closing his eyes, he began cultivating to pass the time.
'Why do so many protagonists bother learning alchemy? This is so damn boring,' he thought, trying to distract himself from the slow, methodical process Tan Wei was undertaking.
After what felt like an eternity to Feng Fan, Tan Wei finally finished.Nôv(el)B\\jnn
Contrary to Feng Fan's expectations, there was no noticeable medicinal aroma coming from the pills. However, the expression on Elder Peng's face, along with his trembling hands, told a different story.
These pills were anything but ordinary.
"Impossible!" Elder Peng exclaimed, his face lighting up with excitement. "There's no pill poison in these pills, and you didn't waste a single bit of medicinal essence from the herbs… Who would have thought a tier 1 alchemist could create such a perfect pill!"
What do you think?
