Chapter 273 You Smell Like Me
Zhang Liling arrived at the event almost half an hour later due to the traffic on the road, but thankfully, the little delay did not stop her from arriving at the venue on time.
Stepping out of the car in a champagne-colored tasseled knee-length dress, her eyes darted around her busy surrounding.
Her long hair was in a bun as a few strands at both sides of her hairline were let to cascade down her cheeks.
'There are quite a lot of guests in attendance,' she thought to herself as her heartbeats became louder.
Seeing men and women dressed to their best and heading into one entrance made her a bit nervous.
Although the official announcement for the new perfume launch only made it to the headlines less than 2 weeks ago, still, so much attention was on it. And this goes to tell you just how relevant and recognized Mr. Fang's brand was in the country and beyond.
Zhang Liling's gaze remained at the entrance as she fiddled with her fingers. She seems to be looking for someone.
At last, she saw a familiar figure in a black suit stepping out of the building with his phone placed on his ear as he exchanged a few pleasantries with some of the guests, and smiled.
Because of her environment, Zhang Liling could not call out to him or wave her hands about so he could see her hence, she took out her ringing phone from her shoulder string clutch purse.
Sliding her finger across the screen to answer the call, she placed the one on her ear immediately.
"Hello Mr. Bolin, look to your left, I'm standing beside Mr. Fang's black car,"
Instantly, Bolin's gaze turned toward her direction. Seeing her, he flashed her a smile and quickly walked forward as he put his phone away.
"Miss Zhang, did you wait for long?" Bolin inquired as soon as he stopped in front of her.
"No, thankfully, I informed Mr. Fang of our location a few minutes before we got to this place," Zhang Liling chuckled softly.
As soon as she dropped the call with Fang Bingwen, he instructed Bolin to bring her inside immediately after she arrived.
This was all so she wouldn't be stranded.
"Miss Zhang, please follow me..." Bolin gestured as he got ready to lead her inside.
"I would have to trouble you," said Zhang Liling with a smile as she immediately followed him inside.
At the same time, the chauffeur drove away.
Bolin led Zhang Liling inside the building. Passing a long hallway, they made a right turn before getting to the room Black L'Intense launch was holding.
Walking in through those big double-door, Zhang Liling could hear the sounds of a violin and piano playing.
Immediately, her gaze darted around looking for the live band as she continued in her steps and the next moment, she saw them assembled on the stage, and a smile that reached her eyes spread across her face.
She could see the men and women of different colors richly dressed and chatting with each other over a glass of champagne.
Looking at the interior decors, her brain was already fast with the calculation of the total money spent on them.
"Mr. Fang is capable..." She uttered absentmindedly.
Giving her a side glance, Bolin added, "This project was special to Mr. Fang. The time he spent to produce Black L'Intense exceeded the ones for the older perfumes in the market."
Although Zhang Liling did not understand his reasoning now, she would soon.
With her gaze darting around and taking in every little detail, she didn't know when they got to the head table where Fang Bingwen was sitting.
It was Bolin that called her attention on their arrival.
"Miss Zhang..."
Instantly, her gaze shifted to the man before her as the smile on her face gradually broadened.
Seeing Mr. Fang sitting at the same round table with what looked like important business matters she comported herself.
"Mr. Fang," she greeted as she lowered her head to give a small bow before raising her head again to meet his gaze.
"You are here," The man said to her before shifting his gaze to the men sitting with him.
About 3 of them were foreign, while the remaining 3 were great businessmen in the country.
Fang Bingwen said a few words to them, and they returned a smile to him before he finally rose to his feet.
Nodding at them with a small smile, he shifted his gaze to the little woman watching his every move.
"How are you?" His gentle voice asked as he took her hand and led her out while Bolin tagged behind them.
"I'm good. What a lovely party you have here," Zhang Liling commented with a smile that reached her eyes as she was quite fascinated with the way he took her hand in the room full of people.
Honestly, she didn't expect that he would act too familiar with her because of his personality, but going to the next level of taking her hand and even smiling gently at her?
Her heart almost melted on the spot, but she had to compose her emotions in order not to look like a little child being fed candies.
"Thank you," Fang Bingwen said as he guided her through a floor-length curtain before their figure disappeared from the guests.
Smiling from ear to ear, Zhang Liling clasped the back of his hand tightly. "Where are you taking me to?"
"Don't you want to relax a bit and eat something before the launch begins in full swing?" He asked, giving her a side glance.
Looking away from him, she answered, "I would appreciate your company more,"
"And you will get it," he said as he pushed the white door in front of them open and led them inside the small sitting room.
Showing her to the sofa, he let go of her hand as she sat down with her gaze moving along every corner of the room.
"Tell Bolin what you want to eat,"
Having in mind that she might not have the chance to eat much later, Zhang Liling hurriedly asked for the menu before picking a few things that caught her eye.
After Bolin left, Mr. Fang came to sit next to her with a glass of a light green-colored cocktail. "You can have this first,"
"Thank you." Accepting the drink happily, she gave her thanks.
Bringing the rim of the glass to her parted lips, she took small sips before putting the glass down. "This is actually very nice."
"This is what a professional setup looks like," Fang Bingwen replied as his eyes went to his git hanging sideways on her neck.
Without warning, he leaned a little closer to her and reached out to adjust it to a proper position.
Just as he leaned closer to her, Zhang Liling sniffed as her nose caught a familiar scent wafting from him.
With slightly confused brows, she asked as his fingers lightly grazed her neck.
"Mr. Fang, what perfume is that?"
Instantly, the corners of Fang Bingwen's lips curled as he leaned away from her. "Why are you asking?"
Giving him a dazed look of bewilderment, she blurted without reservation, "You smell like me..."
