Chapter 237 Ridiculous
When the last of the guests had left, the entire members of the Fang family, went into the main wing of the house, leaving the servants to tidy the hall out.
Hand in hand, Zhang Liling and Mr. Fang walked behind the old lady who has been chatting with them this whole time.
"I know you two came unprepared, so I have asked the servants to take care of some little necessities. Just come to the sitting room to chat with me."
The old lady was trying to buy the servants a little time to get their sleeping place tidy and stock it up with some toiletries before they can go in to freshen up and sleep.
Knowing this fact, Mr. Fang who didn't want to talk about anything, had no choice but to tag along.
Zhang Liling was more than happy to chat with the old lady after finding out that she was not difficult. She would gladly chat with her more to get on her good side even though there was no need for it.
Allowing his old lady to settle on the white sofa, Mr. Fang sat as he watched his little woman sit beside his old lady.
"Grandma, you should have just gone straight to rest after a tiring day." He said with his gaze on her.
"Am I that old that I can't stand 2 hours of celebration? Or are you scared of something else?"
While asking the second question, the old lady placed her hand at the back of Zhang Liling's hand with the corners of her lips turning up in a knowing smile.
She was teasing him as she kind of understood his worry. It's not like she was going to swallow his girlfriend whole.
He was just thinking too much.
Zhang Liling smile amusedly in understanding while Mr. Fang chose to ignore her response and just sat there watching the both women.
His old lady still had some energy left it seems. Because the others had all left to do one thing or the other if not retiring straight for the night.
Shifting her smiling gaze to the woman sitting beside her on the two-sitter sofa, the old lady asked with interestedly.
"Liling, how did you meet my Wenwen, you mentioned that you attended NYU."
This very question brought back old memories to Zhang Liling and Mr. Fang, and instantly, the corners of the former's lips stretched outwardly.
Zhang Liling would never forget all the encounters she had with her professor Fang in school and both in his villa till they got close.
Fang Bingwen did not lose out in the flashbacka from their encounters.
All the memories flooding back to his head were mainly scenes of of Zhang Liling's outrageous actions, stubbornness and unrelentness.
Coming out of his thoughts, he stared at her in disbelief.
Why the sudden change of facial expression?
Well that was because he suddenly couldn't believe that he ended up with her, and kind of needed some clarifications on the circumstances that led them to being with each other.
If possible, Mr. Fang would want their life to be replayed from the very first day just so he could ascertain if his brain was functioning properly when he decided to date her.
He just needed that replay...
Sighs...
Being asked about how she met man that was currently staring at her with a grumpy look as if he regretted their union, Zhang Liling quickly started to tell her story.
From the beginning till the end of her story, the old Lady remained fascinated by it and didn't interrupt her till the end.
Old lady Fang clapped her hands together with her eyes glistening about.
Looking between the two of them, she said happily, "I didn't know that you two would have this chemistry after all these kind of encounter. Moreso, I am very surprised at Wenwen for finding love this way. I really have to boast about your love story to my friends when next we meet."
"Grandma!" Mr. Fang said with much authority in his tone as his brows drew clsoe together.
He sounded clearly unhappy, and the old lady immediately stoped teasing him.
"Fine... Fine! I won't circulate this story to outsiders."
A soft chuckle escaped from Zhang Liling's lips as she could feel Fang Bingwen's embarrassment from where she was sitting.
How could a man with so much pride like him, allow others to know the crazy way he found love?
That was not possible.
Mr. Fang breathed heavily as his back relaxed on the backrest of the sofa. His riling emotions immediately calmed a bit.
His live story was not a source of entertainment for others.
Old Lady Fang's eyes glanced at the wall clock in the room before turning to say to them. "It's late, the servants should have finished setting up the toiletries, you both can ahead."
"?"
"Grandma, you should ask a servant to send Liling to her room, so I can walk you back to yours." Fang Bingwen said while getting to his feet.
Seeing him ready to be on the move, Zhang Liling helped the old lady up to her feet.
Without a change in her facial expression, the old lady stared at him. "Who said you are spending the night in separate bedrooms?"
Zhang Liling and Fang Bingwen's eyes widened in surprise as they stared at the old lady.
They were going to spend the night in the same bedroom? What happened to being conservative, a trait found in old people?
It looks like this old lady was very modernized
Finding their sleeping arrangements outrageous, Mr. Fang quickly found his tongue.
"Grandma, Liling and I are not married, so we can't spend the night in one room."
The old lady scoffed as she slowly released her hold on Zhang Liling.
"You two can make me a grandchild while you are it, so that your wedding can hold sooner than expected." She said without batting an eye.
"Grandma!" Mr. Fang called out frustratedly. He just couldn't believe his old lady.
What on earth was she suggesting?
Everything was just so ridiculous.
