Some ways from the settlement YuJu and his entourage were viewing the mist rolling forward with increased density, its denizens charging for yet another battle

"This isn't your normal charge, do not underestimate it"

"This time's enemy forces have all gathered for a final attack"

"All of them? Well, it doesn't matter does it? Even if they have more numbers there can only be so many attacking at once"

While seeming a little prideful herself Mia was right, the enemy could only charge in waves since they would always be stopped by the frontline

"Hmm? My Lord, look at the mist"

Ika suddenly pointed toward the dark clouds forming to the side of the settlement, creating a path around it to encircle the human dwelling and attack from areas undefended by the forest or fiery eyes

"Splitting the mist? But that would only cause it to disperse sooner or later, why would they give up their domain and safety, what for could they sacrifice all this?"

Knowing how hard it was to reform the Haunting Mist YuJu was puzzled about the enemies course of action, what in the world could make them so desperate to win

'No, nows not the time to think about reasons, we must stop their advance at once'

Alarmed he summoned the Witness, ordering it to infiltrate the clouds forming at the side of the settlement with its group and cause enough chaos to stop them from grouping up

"Mia, take command of the second line of defense, Ellis, Ika, support the sides"

""Yes!""

Hastily everyone took to their stations, YuJu on the other hand moved his gaze toward the depth of the mist where he could feel an immeasurable amount of energy gathering, probably that was where the opposing leaders were gathering

'They're coming…toward me?'

Finding it both interesting and convenient he also moved to greet them, at a much slower and leisure pace

Entering the mist he forgo using stealth, nor did he don a mask, merely taking one step at a time toward the enemy formation

"What a pleasant surprise, here I thought we would have to hunt you down, I really underestimated the holder of Pride"

"I wouldn't want to lose the opportunity of all of you gathered in one place, it is a bother going after each one individually"

"Hahaha, confident in your ability much? Then again you should be, not anyone can house a Sin, nor the tremendous amount of power it holds! Power which shall soon be mine!!"

"With how your acting I would think Greed suits you better"

"That won't do, for only Pride fits one such as I, behold mortal, the King of the Haunted, the Dreaded One, Kamiva!"

With surging energy the voices scattered all over the place finally converged into one body, black were the bones, white rays for eyes, and a robe of golden silk woven into its very bones, the appearance of a king indeed, not that YuJu seemed impressed, on the contrary

"All this fuss and it's merely an Elder Hauntling?"

"That's more than you'll ever be, human, I shall make sure of that"

With a wave of his hand the wraith, or Kamiva as he called himself, sent a gust of cold wind at the unfazed man, only to rattle his clock and no more

"Quite the nice breeze, but I am not here to enjoy the scenery"

Clink!

Just as his words came to a stop a blade came slashing at his back, forced to a stop by the sword he took out

"Just a distraction, I needed a few more seconds you see, for my friend to surround you and leave no room for escape! Hasu kama!"

Slamming his hand at the ground Kamiva lit the surrounding area with blue light, revealing the hidden figures of his fellow wraiths

"And now with this unearthing grounds skill active you can no longer hide, what do you feel? Robbed of the strongest advantage in the blink of an eye"

"Haah"

Disengaging from the sword wielding foe YuJu glanced at the surrounding with a displeased look about him

Taking a liking to his displeasure the wraiths all came forward with an attack of their own, a scythe wielder lead the group, swinging it at YuJu but missing as the latter easily dodged, or so it seemed at first before a shadow of the scythe's blade slashed at YuJu's unsuspecting back, going through it without any resistance

"An afterimage"

Kamiva warned, a little too slow since two wraiths already fell to YuJu's sword, turning to ashes after having their energy sucked dry

"Dark Harvest? That's an unusual skill for a human"

"Just because one is living doesn't mean they can't learn it"

"True, you need but control death energy, still an unusual choice"

Though chatting leisurely the battle was still taking place, with the scythe wielder slashing at YuJu left and right, the shadow of his weapon taking another strike every time YuJu dodged, while the other wraiths shot energy attacks or tried to land a melee hit on the elusive human, failing miserably at that

"You know, given that your the leader of this whole bothersome army, I suspected a little more than this"

"Ohoho, glad you mentioned it, I was itching to cast some skills"

Eerie laughs echoed shortly before a pale light enveloped YuJu's surroundings, turning bright enough to blind one's eyes immediately

Boom!

Exploding it threw YuJu away a dozen meters, right as the scythe wielder appeared behind him and slashed mercilessly, meanwhile another shadow appeared behind the wraith itself and stabbed at it

"Kuh!"

"Another afterimage huh, quite the troublesome fellow"

Watching its subordinate gets stabbed through while its scythe pierced empty air made it realize how hard it would be to kill the human without pinning him down

"Sha ma gui!"

Casting another set of skills it summoned energy bolts that zoomed through the air, promoting YuJu to dodge only for the bolts to follow

"Homing ability?"

That being the case he stored his blades and took out the sickles, slashing apart the bolts and causing them to explode from afar with the help of the chains' extending ability

He slashed and slashed while being gradually pushed back, unknowingly walking into the enemy's trap

Cra-Crack!

Like a maw the ground under him opened up to reveal a dark abyss, the energy bolts took this chance to blast at him all at once and send him down to his death

At least that was the plan, but with them gathered in one place he used the opportunity to slash them all at once with one sickle while the other stabbed into the earth, reeling him out of danger

"That's an annoying ability you have there"

"It's just basic, more importantly is this all you've got?"

"Come now, I have been using multiple skills that I own not the class for, show some appreciation"

Kamiva's words reminded YuJu of the other race's limited pool of skills, no matter how strong a class was it would prove to be lacking compared to owning multiple classes, and this Elder Hauntling before him probably hasn't been around for too long to learn many skills outside its two classes

"If this is all then I am really disappointed, I guess it's about time to wrap it up"

Saying so he ran toward Kamiva with great speed, maneuvering around the slow wraiths without wasting another moment on them, that is, until a scythe came slashing at him, forcing him to a stop as his own sickles blocked, the two sides intertwined in a struggle of whose strength was enough to push back the other

"Hah! Thought my follower was easy to oust? I'm sad to inform you of its unkillable nature"

YuJu scrutinized the shadow and realized that it was different from other wraiths as it seemed dull and lifeless, more like a puppet than an actual undead

"Some sort of shadow summon?"

"Close enough, all you need to know is that its unkillable"

"Well that's a bore to deal with"

Pushing against the scythe he caused both of them to be sent a few meters away from each other, then quickly dove straight toward it once more

The opposing shadow puppet met with the same action, bringing down its long weapon strongly, YuJu however didn't engage it any further

"So I won't bother dealing with it"

Like a shadow himself YuJu's figure disappeared, an afterimage once more, the opposing wraith turned to search only to find his chains had wrapped around its weapon at some point

"Up you go"

One heavy heave later the wraith was sent flying through the air, leaving YuJu to finish off Kamiva

"Oho? Nice moves, let me show you some of mine"

Sarcastic was his tone as the Elder Hauntling got sucked into the ground, another wraith shortly replacing him while he appeared so far away he was barely even visible

"....."

"What? Thought you got me? Kehuhuhu, well think again young human, for within this mist I can move freely, nothing you do can help you catch me, quite the contrary, you'll only wear yourself down before eventually becoming my next source of power, haha-" Stab! "-ha, eh?"

Feeling two sharp objects stab into him Kamiva turned to look at YuJu, finding the body to be fading slowly out of sight, this caused the manically laughing wraith to turn his head slowly toward the back, meeting gold and green eyes staring back unamused

"How, even if that was an after image-argh!"

Twisting the sickles inside Kamiva YuJu stopped him from rattling on

"It's not an after image, more so an illusion, I just ran toward you in stealth while you were fooled by it"

"But, but the unearthed…."

"Merely me entertaining you for a bit, otherwise it wouldn't be fun if I just killed you, the opposing leader, from the get go would it"

"...Heh, keheh, kehehehehehe!"

"? Finally gone mad have you?"

"Hahaha, kehahaha, you think you're the only one playing with his pray?"

Like a signal Kamiva's words earned a reaction from the surroundings, a multitude of rays  lining up their surroundings making up a multicolored shape trapping the two of them inside, deathly energy permeating its inside

"Blinded by your own Pride, no, your arrogance! You have failed to realize that this was all a trap from the beginning, never have I intended to fight you, why should I when I only need set a domain where the living cannot survive"

Still stabbed through Kamiva opened his arms wide in grandeur
