Magic Sect of Beauties: The Strongest Mage is in a Cultivation World

Chapter 194: Inheritance Acquisition, Elder Qian's Challenge; Mastering the Dao of Spirit-forging Alchemy!

"W-, What?!"

Elder Qian didn't seem pleased at all; in fact, she looked immensely furious, her expression clearly betrayed her emotions. Yet, there was also a hint of embarrassment shown by the redness of her face. She appeared to be at a loss for words, as if her mind was struggling to form coherent sentences.

Guo Xiaomei stepped forward and shouted, "Wei, take back what you said this instant!"

All Yang Wei did was to shrug nonchalantly. He kept his demeanor relaxed as he calmly replied, "Why should I? It's just a bit of fun. Unless..." He glanced back at Elder Qian, his eyes twinkling mischievously. "...she's somehow afraid to follow through with the bet."

With a pensive expression, Yang Wei closed his eyes as if deep in thought. Then, he nodded as if reaching a conclusion. "Yes, yes, that must be it."

Elder Qian ground her teeth in frustration.

This bastard...!

Even her soft, beautiful face was marred by slight veins that popped up in her anger.

Sneakily opening one eye to observe Elder Qian's reaction, Yang Wei continued speaking, pretending as though he knew all about her illustrious reputation. "It's quite amusing to see that the esteemed Elder Qian, whom Sister Guo has lauded as an alchemical genius, is hesitant to make a fun wager with a mere Inner Sect disciple." He nodded, faking his seriousness.

Elder Qian let out a furious scream and pointed an accusatory finger at Yang Wei. "Insolent brat!"

Unfazed, Yang Wei casually fanned himself and made a mocking calming gesture. "Now, now, Grandmaster, your bad behavior is showing."

Upon hearing Yang Wei's comment, Elder Qian swallowed her anger; begrudgingly, she acknowledged that as a Grandmaster who had lived for countless years, she should comport herself with more dignity. "Tch!" she uttered, her frustration palpable as she struggled to contain her emotions. Her face turned as red as a tomato, and she began to twitch with suppressed rage.

Guo Xiaomei found herself at a loss for words, realizing the gravity of her mistake.

It really can get worse with him around... Maybe Chief Xiu was right when she said he was an arrogant b-bastard. This is possibly the worst reunion ever.

After not speaking with Elder Qian for roughly 200 years, the first interaction they had involved such a disrespectful insult from one of her supposed disciples.

Somehow, Elder Qian managed to quell her emotions, allowing her to think more rationally.

I could just squash him with a stomp from my Divine Spirit Phantom, but no, he'd still have the last laugh. He's tarnished my reputation, so just killing him won't pacify me. I'll give him an inheritance, yes... and then, let him taste the frustration of trying to comprehend something that every one of my disciples has failed to.

After scrutinizing Yang Wei for a brief moment, Elder Qian finally relented, stating, "Fine, I'm interested in this wager you've proposed."

Yang Wei paused his fanning and looked at her with renewed interest. "Good, th--" he began.

"However..." Elder Qian interrupted him, her expression growing more serious by the second. It was difficult to discern whether she was indifferent or angry; one could even say both and be right. She continued, "...what exactly do you have that's valuable to a Spirit Ascension cultivator? I find it difficult to believe you own anything worth my time."

Yang Wei nodded thoughtfully, acknowledging the validity of her point.

Hmm, she makes a good point. Sure, I have loads of valuable things, but most of it is magic artifacts, and I doubt she'd know how to use them.

He lowered his head, stroking his chin in contemplation.

If we're talking about my cultivation stash, the most crucial thing I own is my final drop of celestial dragon blood. Tianyi's not an object, he's my little buddy, so he's definitely not on the table.

After a few minutes of silence, a smile spread across his face, signaling that he had an answer.

Elder Qian noticed this, "It seems you have an answer."

Yang Wei patted his chest and faced Elder Qian once more, saying, "Alright, here's the deal. If I can't master your inheritance, I'll give you my spirit root."

His words left both Guo Xiaomei and Elder Qian visibly stunned. Removing a spirit root wasn't inherently dangerous, but the catch was, once you've cultivated with a specific one for so long, you get somewhat attached to it. Switching to a different spirit root would be like trying to fit a square peg into a round hole – no compatibility whatsoever.

With a sly grin, Yang Wei continued, "And you know what that means, right? I might never be able to cultivate again. So, it's only fair that in return, you become my woman and let me... explore." His gaze lingered on Elder Qian's heavenly body, already imagining the delights of their time in bed.

Elder Qian maintained her composure, but her tone was firm as she replied, "Deal. A heaven-defying multicore spirit root could offer countless benefits to me."

At this point, Guo Xiaomei wisely decided to stay silent. Any attempt to interject could result in immediate punishment from her master. So, she remained a silent observer, taking in the unfolding negotiations.

I hope you know what you're doing, Wei.

Yang Wei, eager to get started, turned to Elder Qian and asked, "So, where's this inheritance I need to master?"

With a casual flick of her hand, Elder Qian conjured a glowing column of light before Yang Wei. Within it materialized a scroll, its light green and blue hues catching his eye as it was tied with a golden rope. The scroll seemed to pulse with energy, beckoning him closer.

"This is the Dao of Spirit-forging Alchemy," Elder Qian explained. "It's my own creation, derived from the Dao of Medicine.

It's not an infinite path, so even a novice cultivator such as yourself could has a chance of comprehending it." Adjusting her hair slightly, she continued, "It bridges the physical and spiritual realms, allowing practitioners to shape their intentions into reality and unlock their latent potential. One can refine pills by manifesting their will within a spiritual cauldron."

Though Elder Qian provided only the basics, Yang Wei could sense the depth of the inheritance before him. It encompassed a multitude of techniques, making it a formidable challenge to master. It wasn't merely about refining pills; it was about harnessing one's willpower to transmute any ingredient into a pill of unparalleled quality.

Provided their will remained strong, one who mastered it could refine any type of ingredient or medicinal plant, no matter how divine it was!

Taking the scroll, Yang Wei examined it closely as Elder Qian added, "Get ready to fail."

Still, it wouldn't be a bad thing if he passed, at least, one disciple of mine should comprehend... then, I'd truly be happy. Perhaps, with his spirit root he could maste-- no, I won't be foolish enough to give myself hope again.

Sarcastically, Yang Wei remarked, "Gee, thanks for the vote of confidence."

With a calmness that was almost graceful, Elder Qian turned away, and in an instant, the entire Garden of Eternal Alchemy folded back into itself, disappearing from view.
