Chapter 1027: Matching opponents

Chapter 1027: Matching opponents

"...Of course, I dare! Ahahaha!!"

"Dammit!!" But the First Marshal didn't seem to share the same enjoyment. He swiftly raised his legendary weapon, covering it with a layer of insulating energy followed by another layer of purple mist, and lunged to slice Holak in two.

Shwalaaa!

His preparations were enough to dominate any of the other marshals or severely injure someone of the same level who wasn't fully prepared. But his opponent was not just anyone.

The blue purgatory flame created a barrier between Holak's left fist and the purple mist, while his lightweight shield, which had survived the Shadow Strike, wasn't something that an epic- tier weapon could easily pierce. The result was a Swoosh! as the First Marshal was sent flying backward again, trying to regain his balance.

Once again, Holak leaped after him, laughing, "Hahaha! I've dreamed of this moment ever since the Battle of Northern Edge Mountain. Finally, I've caught the rat that dared meddle in my den!"

Swoosh! Swoosh! The First Marshal, Celebos, didn't dare face Holak head-on again. He turned and dashed away, layering his hands and weapon with more purple mist with every passing moment.

He had endured brutal wars with his friend, Pythor, back when he was still a human ruler. Then came bitter battles after they used the Race Upgrading Device, transforming into what they were now, spreading havoc on Poison Rock Planet and eight other worlds. Later, they fought in the middle planetary belt against the multiple planetary-scale empire of Ghassan. When was the last time he was suppressed this much by someone of the same level? Never! Even against officers from the Ghassan Empire's vast army, he had never retreated like this against someone of equal power. A battle-hardened veteran with a law from the Path of Destruction-a path respected and feared across the mid-planetary belt-he now found himself running for his life. And the one chasing him? A local fool who didn't even seem to have left his planet before. "Damn it!!"

"My brother Zanox! Elder Brother Celebos!!" Marshal Lacrosse sprang to his feet as he witnessed what was happening behind him. The battle had just begun, yet Zanox and Celebos were already in critical states.

Marshal Serbal's expression wasn't good either. He seemed to be holding his ground against his opponent by advancing and retreating while avoiding those grim black flames. But Zanox and Celebos would be crushed if the battle continued at this pace. "...Hold on! I'm coming!!"n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om

Lacrosse leaped toward Marshal Zanox first. His human opponent, with green flames blazing, had gone berserk. Each strike he delivered either demolished a building or left a crater. If one of those punches hit his comrade, Zanox would surely be torn in half, he need to save him and make sure the space sealing device is secure. Swoosh!

Boom! Boom! Baaam! Baa--- The sounds of battle grew increasingly distant.

Marshal Serbal versus Caesar... Caesar was trying to dodge Serbal's close-range attacks and his massive, destructive sword. Meanwhile, Serbal was doing his best to avoid any contact with the Death Flames, in a fight dominated by power and caution.

On the other hand, it is the First Marshal Celebos versus Hulak. Celebos had already unleashed the shadow of the Five-Horned Serpent, Durgr, burning his thick blood with reckless abandon. Meanwhile, Hulak continued punching anything within his reach, his taunting laughter sending chills down his opponent's spine.

The third battlefield quickly turned into the most chaotic... It was already heated because Richard was intent on following his orders and retrieving the dark pyramid as swiftly as possible. Whatever that object was, it was the last straw that had caused his father to cancel all protocols and command an immediate attack, so it was undoubtedly crucial. Richard began unleashing his full power from the outset, breaking several of Marshal Zanox's bones in the process.

After Marshal Lacrosse joined the fray, the battle became even more chaotic and intense. Richard started channeling a portion of his massive reserves into the city to fight both marshals simultaneously. Although this dramatically increased his energy consumption, it was the only way to keep Lacrosse occupied while maintaining his assault on Zanox.

The battle had barely lasted a minute, yet a significant portion of the City of Hope had already been leveled!

Near the spatial portal, however, the situation had returned to stillness.

The table was destroyed, the chairs shattered, and parts of the floor were either burned or broken. Nothing remained in its original place except for three individuals—Robin, Sakaar, and Pythor-still sitting in their chairs as if the chaos around them had nothing to do with them.

But their calm demeanor didn't mean they were alone.

Clang Clang

Imperial guards and elite marshal troops moved out from behind Pythor, surrounding the negotiation site in the blink of an eye. Robin and Sakaar found themselves encircled by nearly 400 high-level martial emperors, including 100 imperial guards with the strength of fleet generals!

Under the weight of this terrifying sight, Pythor casually pointed a finger at Sakaar. "Go on, pick an opponent, and go play like your brothers. Your master wouldn't want you witnessing what's about to happen to him."

From Pythor's perspective, the matter was already settled. With his absolute confidence in his marshals' combat expertise and the small army surrounding him, there was more than enough power to crush Robin and the human creature beside him. Robin wouldn't even have the chance to move from his spot today!

"...Me?" Sakaar slowly raised a finger and pointed at himself. "I'm supposed to pick an opponent from among them?"

"Who else is there, ugly creature?" Pythor's expression showed clear disgust as he gestured toward someone nearby. "Eleventh son, take him and kill him in some far-off ruin. Bring two or three of your brothers to help you finish quickly."

"As you command, Your Majesty." The person Pythor addressed bowed slightly, then unleashed his aura, revealing himself as someone on the verge of breaking through to level 48. He raised his epic war hammer toward Sakaar, declaring, "Come! Your final chapter will be written by my hands today!"
