Library of Heaven’s Path 2: Eternal Destiny

Book 2: Chapter 106: Azure Universal Card

Vol 2 Ch 106: Azure Universal Card

As the voice fell, Elder Chen was about to respond when he noticed everyone around staring at him as if he were a fool.

“What? Did I say something wrong? Even if they didn’t cause it directly, they must have some connection to it, right?” Elder Chen said in confusion.

Shi Yunjing shook his head, his face full of sympathy. “Elder Chen, you’ve participated in the Heaven’s Fate Assessment, haven’t you? Let me ask you—when you entered the River of Destiny, did you find it easy to move?”

“Destiny is irresistible. When you’re in it, even taking a single step is tough. Moving around? Of course not!” Elder Chen nodded.

Shi Yunjing explained, “Exactly! Since you couldn’t move, others wouldn’t be able to either. In the middle of those tidal currents, the most anyone could do is look for opportunities and comprehend Heaven’s Fate. Trying to wreck the testing hall? They wouldn’t have the strength or the chance!”

“Hall Master is wise!”

Elder Chen suddenly understood. No wonder the Hall Master hadn’t suspected the other party—it all boiled down to this.

The others, upon hearing this explanation, once again looked at Hall Master Shi with expressions of admiration. No wonder he could become the Hall Master; his insight alone was far beyond their reach.

In the crowd, only Yan Thirty-Three looked conflicted, his face twisted like a pretzel.

Not fast? Then why did he distinctly remember both Kong Shiyao and the Little Chick zipping back and forth in the River of Destiny like it was nothing?

Still, even though he felt stifled, he ultimately didn’t say a word.

It wasn’t just about whether anyone would believe him. Even if they did, he didn’t want to sell out Kong Shiyao. After all, without her, he’d have been lucky to get a silver-tier opportunity, let alone the golden-tier one that earned him such a high-grade Heaven’s Fate.

Ignoring the muttering elders, Hall Master Shi strode toward the Wanchang Sect of the Zouyi Dynasty.

The Wanchang Sect not only published various rankings but also occasionally issued tasks, allowing cultivators and Destiny Masters to earn Source Coins or Destiny Disks. They even had special artifacts to test Destiny Masters.

These tools evaluated a task taker’s level to assess feasibility, though they only tested levels and couldn’t probe the specifics of someone’s Heaven’s Fate cultivation.

In a corner of the spacious hall of the Wanchang Sect, a middle-aged man sat quietly, a straw hat shading half his face, making it hard to discern his identity. He was carefully watching Zhang Xuan in the distance.

“Min Jiangtao returned from Hanyuan City with this guy…” His eyes glimmered.

If Min Jiangtao were present, he would recognize the man immediately—it was none other than his senior brother, Mo Hong! Surprisingly, Mo Hong wasn’t in the sect but had secretly followed them here.

Thanks to the Mo Dao Sect’s influence, it wasn’t hard to find out who Min Jiangtao had returned to Zouyi City with. However, their master had instructed them not to alert anyone prematurely, so he had remained in the shadows.

“Let’s see if this guy is a Destiny Master and, if so, at what level…”

Mo Hong lifted the teacup on the table, taking a cautious sip as he waited. Earlier, he had blended into the crowd and overheard Zhang Xuan’s conversation with Shi Yunjing, learning that Zhang Xuan had come for a test.

If Zhang Xuan were a newly advanced Destiny Master, then he likely wasn’t the one who had taught Min Jiangtao the blade techniques. But if he was highly skilled… that would be another story.

“Sorry to keep you waiting, Zhang Xuan.”

As Mo Hong pondered, Hall Master Shi and an elderly man walked over together. Shi Yunjing hadn’t even reached Zhang Xuan before apologizing with a laugh.

“Hall Master is too kind!” Zhang Xuan cupped his fists.n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om

Shi Yunjing waved his hand, gesturing to the old man beside him as he introduced, “Let me introduce you. This is Qian Yuhuan, the Branch Master of the Zouyi Wanchang Sect. Branch Master Qian, this is Young Master Zhang, who just participated in the Destiny Master Assessment.”

Zhang Xuan looked at Branch Master Qian.

The man appeared to be in his sixties. Though he didn’t exude a powerful aura or an overwhelming presence, his sharp gaze occasionally revealed a chilling intensity, making him an intimidating figure.

From his expression alone, it was clear he wasn’t an easy person to deal with.

“Hmm.”

Sure enough, Qian Yuhuan merely glanced at Zhang Xuan and gave a faint nod, his face devoid of much expression.

Shi Yunjing, seemingly accustomed to Qian’s demeanor, smiled slightly. “Brother Qian, I’ve come to ask if we can use your Wanchang Sect’s Wanchang Monument to test if they’ve comprehended Heaven’s Fate…”

He then briefly explained what had happened earlier.

The collapse of the Destiny Hall was too obvious to hide. Given its proximity, anyone who wasn’t blind could see it. Rather than try to cover it up, it was better to be honest.

The Wanchang Monument was a special artifact of the Wanchang Sect with numerous functions, including compiling rankings and detecting Heaven’s Fate. Its capabilities overlapped significantly with the Destiny Wall of the Destiny Hall.

“One million per person,” Qian Yuhuan said indifferently.

“This…”

Shi Yunjing hadn’t expected to be charged and looked embarrassed. “Brother Qian, it’s only because our Destiny Wall broke that I’ve come to you. Once it’s repaired, you’re welcome to use it as you please. Must you really charge us?”

Qian Yuhuan shook his head. “It’s not personal. It’s the rule. You know how we at the Wanchang Sect value our regulations. Since you’ve often transacted and helped us, you’re a Level-One user. For you, testing your Destiny Level would normally be free. But this Young Master Zhang is a new face with no history with us. Naturally, we can’t offer him a free service.”

Shi Yunjing fell silent.

The Wanchang Sect was excellent in many ways, but their overly commercial nature was irksome.

Every service came with a price tag. Be it the Hunter’s List, Potential List, or task listings, each had a corresponding fee. Even using their treasures to explore, comprehend, or undertake tasks required payment.

To avoid fees, one needed either sufficient status or contributions to the Wanchang Sect. Shi Yunjing, as the Hall Master of the Zouyi Destiny Hall, had both, having completed numerous tasks, purchased resources, and provided substantial aid to the Wanchang Sect. This entitled him to free access to many resources.

Zhang Xuan, however, was clearly a newcomer. To use their artifact, he’d have to pay.

Hearing the conversation, Zhang Xuan smiled.

He had experienced the Wanchang Sect’s business model firsthand in Hanyuan City. It was no different from some high-end marketplaces or clubs in his past life—exclusive benefits for premium members, while others had to pay.

It was a clever way to target affluent customers.

“Hall Master Shi, paying isn’t a big deal,” Zhang Xuan said. Asking them to bend the rules was clearly too much, and he didn’t want to make things difficult.

At one million per person, testing a dozen people would cost only around ten million. If they refunded the earlier test fees, it would be enough to cover dozens of tests.

“All right, then.”

Seeing his willingness, Shi Yunjing reluctantly agreed.

“Everyone, come over!”

Once payment was confirmed, Qian Yuhuan led them to a stone pillar in the hall. Pressing his hand lightly against it, a pure white light began to flow from the surface.

“To test your Heaven’s Fate Level, simply place your hand on the pillar. Red light signifies Level One, orange for Level Two, yellow for Level Three… and so on according to the seven colors of the rainbow.”

Qian Yuhuan’s indifferent gaze swept over the group before settling on Zhang Xuan. “Who’s first?”

“I’ll go.”

After a moment’s hesitation, Zhang Xuan stepped forward. Since they were testing, he thought it best to set an example for his disciples.

“Pay first.”

As he approached, Qian Yuhuan’s expression remained stoic.

Zhang Xuan frowned slightly but gestured toward Sun Qiang, who immediately stepped forward with a large stack of Source Notes. “Here’s the payment for all of us. Feel free to count it.”

Qian Yuhuan nodded in satisfaction, his expression softening. “Since you’ve paid, why not get a Wanchang Card? It’s convenient for storing income and eliminates the need to carry Source Notes.”

“A Wanchang Card?” Zhang Xuan blinked before recalling something. “I think I already have one.”

With a flick of his wrist, he produced a jade-like card from his palm.

This card was a gift from Yue Longxiao, the Sect Master, before leaving Hanyuan City. He had mentioned it might come in handy.

Qian Yuhuan took the card and chuckled. “Ah, so it’s a card from Hanyuan City. If I’m not mistaken, this is likely a Level-Three card, the lowest tier… it can only be used for deposits and withdrawals. It doesn’t offer any additional privileges.”

As he spoke, he was about to return the card when a faint azure mark appeared on its surface, like a

cloud of mist.

Qian Yuhuan’s pupils contracted, his body stiffened, and his fingers trembled as they reached for the mark. In an instant, an overwhelming pressure surged forth, as if it would crush his soul or issue a dire warning.

“It’s real?”

Swallowing hard, Qian Yuhuan’s eyes widened in shock.

“This… this is… beyond Level One, even beyond Supreme or Elder ranks… a Sky Azure Wanchang Card?”
