Chapter 255 Secrets
Atlas watched as the wolf woman approached with a friendly smile and when she did her happy expression faltered, ''Who gave you the arm and eye? They have many secrets.''
When he heard this his eyebrow rose, ''What do you mean? It's a skill I received from my patron goddess.''
The woman nodded while whispering some unintelligible words before replying, ''It doesn't matter. I cannot fix those but everything else is good.''
Atlas agreed to it as he felt her aura which was a caring one, like a grandmother which caused him to relax. She quickly approached and grabbed his hand while continuing, ''It will hurt but you feel better.''
In response, the wolf woman began chanting in an ancient, unknown language. Amethyst's eyes widened with alarm, and she leaped to intervene, but her efforts were in vain. She was completely ignored.
A sudden, searing pain tore through his body, leaving him gasping as he realized with horror that his very soul was being forcefully repaired. The wolf woman stepped back causing Atlas to drop to his knees.
Amethyst rushed to his side with a panicked expression as she asked as the other women joined them, ''Is he okay?''
''Yes young lady, his soul was on the verge of shattering,'' the stranger replied. ''I don't know how he was putting up with so much pain but from now on he will be fine.''
While the pain surged through his body Atlas looked at the grey-haired woman and took out the Monster Vault that Lilith was safely stored, ''Can you heal her? I will pay anything,'' he said in a strained voice.
He collapsed to the ground, curling into himself as an unbearable, searing agony consumed him. It felt as though his very essence was being torn apart and stitched back together, his soul repairing itself.
Amidst the torment, a sinister laugh echoed in his mind, cold and mocking, dragging him into unconsciousness. When he came to, he found himself standing alone in a dark, desolate realm.
That's when he spotted a creepy humanoid creature materializing out of the shadows as it spoke, ''To unlock your powers fight me Azhar'Zul that is the condition set for you to get the eye and arm but just know if you lose, your soul is mine forever.''
Atlas shivered when hearing this and readied himself for a fight but that's when the monsters appeared before him. Its dark eyes gleamed with excitement as it swiped at him, he quickly ducked under the attack while casting Void Blast.
The spell struck the creature square in the chest, sending it staggering backward as its sickly white skin sizzled and burned from the void mana. A low, guttural growl rumbled from deep within its throat, but Atlas was relentless.
Seizing the moment, he lunged forward, unleashing a barrage of punches, each blow fueled by raw fury. His fists hammered into the creature, determined to break it before it could recover from his sudden attack.
But to his shock, the beast barely flinched. With a savage roar, it swiped a massive claw across his chest, sending him crashing into the ground with a loud thud which took the air from his lunges.
'Ouch, that hurt,'
he thought while scrambling to his feet.
Atlas gasped for air, blood dripping from his wounds, but he wasn't finished. He pushed himself up, charging again, but before he could reach it, the creature slammed its fist into his side, throwing him across the room like a ragdoll.
His vision blurred, but he gritted his teeth, forcing himself to rise. Every move felt like agony, but he wasn't going to surrender. Atlas gritted his teeth as the creature charged at him and went to grab him.
'Oh shit!'
He quickly sidestepped the attack before retaliating with Void Smash as his fist hit the humanoid's ribs. A loud crack rang out causing the creature to let out a hiss of pain but Atlas followed that up with Void Wave.
The spell struck the creature unexpectedly, sending it skidding across the ground with a violent tremor. Without hesitation, he unleashed a barrage of Void Lances, twelve jagged bolts of mana streaking through the air.
They tore into the creature's hide, each strike causing it to howl in pain, its roar reverberating through the air as the barrage of spells continued to hammer its twisted form, leaving deep scorch marks across its body.n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
'It's slowing down,'
he thought.
But Atlas didn't relent as he pressed the attack, his fists connecting with the creature's body in rapid succession. Each punch rang out, the force of his blows making the beast stagger and crumble.
As the void mana seeped into its system, the creature's movements began to slow, its once-violent thrashing growing sluggish under the weight of the void mana. Atlas's relentless assault had taken its toll.
The monster stumbled before letting out a deep laugh as it spoke, ''It seems like she was right about you Azhar'Zul. Now go forth and fight the darkness that is engulfing Valoria.''
Following that Atlas went to speak but was sent back to the real world, confused and curious he noticed Amethyst and Estelle looking at him from above. He smiled before commenting, ''Hello beauties, has the fighting stopped?''
The blonde beamed before she took out a mirror and handed it to him as she replied in a caring tone, ''Take a look but I have to go talk to Grishna.''
Atlas nodded and took it before looking at his face that was covered in his helmet, he dismissed it only to see glowing azure eyes, it was fully blue and resembled an eye but was something else.
He looked down and noticed his left arm was glowing but something told him that there were secrets that he needed to unlock. While he was admiring himself Estelle grabbed the Orc's arm and led her off to the side.
When the two women were alone Grishna commented with a confused expression, ''What do you want blondie?''
''To apologize properly, now we cleared out the city and I truly realized how wrong I was about you,'' Estelle said in a regretful voice. ''I hate myself for the way I've always treated you and know I don't deserve your forgiveness.''
