Chapter 636: Chapter 636 - Betteforge Crawler

Broken was eager to create his first golem using this class, but the big question was: what kind of golem did he want to make?

At first, he considered creating a humanoid golem-the safest and most straightforward option. A battle-ready golem he could command to guard a town seemed practical.

But strangely, the idea didn't excite him. After all, he already had Dendros, a dependable and powerful fighter, as well as Pawpaw and his other summons, who were more than capable in combat.

In Slumdon Town, he also had Blackthorn and a squad of Knights at his disposal. Together, they were more than sufficient to handle tasks that would otherwise require a standard humanoid golem. Creating yet another seemed redundant.

His thoughts then shifted toward creating a transportation tool.

He quickly opened the golem creation UI and began selecting components for the golem.

"If you want to make a carriage that can adapt to various terrains..." Aerin chimed in with an idea.

"Using legs?"

"Yes, like an insect, maybe. Using at least four or five pairs of legs would be great for evenly distributing the carriage's weight and adapting to different terrains."

Broken nodded thoughtfully, then opened his inventory to see if he had any insect-type Monster Soul Stones.

[Sun Beetle Lv. 205 Monster Soul Stone]

This was the Soul Stone he had obtained during a dungeon expedition with Elincia and a few Ass Guild members near the capital a few months ago.

He decided to proceed with the design and began crafting his new golem. Starting with two pairs of legs, he added a rectangular structure on top to serve as the carriage.

"Broken, I don't think two pairs of legs will be enough if the container is going to be that large," Aerin pointed out.

He added another pair of legs.

"But seriously," she said, raising an eyebrow, "are you really planning to make the carriage that big?"

"Absolutely," Broken said with a grin. "I want it to fit at least ten people or hold blacksmithing tools inside."

"You're really committed to this, huh?" Aerin said, shaking her head with a small smile.

Broken adjusted the design further, eventually settling on five pairs of legs.

Aerin commented. "This way, the carriage can move more smoothly because the weight is distributed more evenly across the legs."

However, Broken had a concern. "Still, adding too many legs might lower the tier."

"But all you really need is mobility, right? I don't think you need to aim for a high-tier golem if it's just for transportation," Aerin reassured him.

Broken nodded, agreeing that the carriage didn't need offensive weapons. As long as it could handle varied terrain and move well, it would serve its purpose.

He finalized the design and sat back to review it.

"Did you really have to add an insect-like head at the front?"

Broken chuckled. "Who knows? Maybe the Monster Soul Stone I picked will like the design and give it some extra useful skills."

Broken began selecting the materials he would use to create the golem. The UI helpfully suggested options like iron, steel, monster cores, and other components.

He browsed through the contents of his inventory, carefully considering his choices. In the end, he tossed in mostly high-quality titanium bars and high-quality steel bars.

As the materials stacked up, he gulped. With a project this size, the material requirements

were enormous.

Aerin chuckled softly at Broken's concerned expression.

"I think you could mix in some iron to balance out the material costs," she suggested. "And maybe use monster parts-like bones, feathers, or skins-to make the interior more comfortable."

"Got it," Broken replied with a nod.n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om

"But I have to say," Aerin added with a grin, "I'm impressed by how much material you've stockpiled in your inventory."

"Well, we have miners in town," Broken explained. "That means we can produce a steady supply of ore for crafting needs."

"Instead of selling it, you're keeping it all for yourself?"

Broken glanced at her with a smirk. "Well, I do plan to sell some eventually, but for now, I'm paying out of pocket-especially for the high-quality stuff, Princess," he said, chuckling.

Aerin raised an eyebrow with a mischievous smile. "Sounds like Slumdon's tax contributions are still pretty low, huh?"

"Oh, come on, Princess, I mean... Aerin," Broken said. "I'm still a new Baron-don't pressure me with steep taxes already!"

They both laughed as they continued working.

Broken then added the Soul Stone along with monster cores from similar creatures.

With another sigh, he watched his inventory empty out rapidly, especially the stash of his more expensive materials.

"This carriage is going to cost a fortune," Aerin remarked with a laugh.

"True, but with materials this valuable, I'm hoping the result will be worth it."

After carefully reviewing the material composition and following the UI's recommendations, he made sure that every component met at least a medium-quality standard.

He paused for a moment to double-check everything, then turned to Aerin. "What do you

think?"

"This is the most creative and out-of-the-box golem design I've ever seen," she commented.

Broken chuckled as he stood up from the seat, projecting the final design of the crawling carriage into the room. It turned out there was just enough space to fit the massive structure.

"If it ends up being Legendary-grade, I think we'll have to dismantle the door to get it out," Aerin commented with a playful smirk.

Broken grinned. "I just hope your uncle doesn't get too mad. But if it's Legendary-grade, I'd say the risk is worth it."

[Golem Frame Construction (Production Skill) Lv. 1 activated.]

[Confirm all the required materials.]

[Collecting materials...]

[Confirming the design...]

[Are you sure you want to proceed?]

Broken immediately pressed "Yes," setting the process into motion.

The materials shot into the air, arranging themselves as if following the design he had

crafted.

[Progress: 12%]

Aerin, standing beside him, watched with interest. "So, can we adjust the process? Like building the frame manually and then applying the skill?"

Broken glanced at her and nodded, confirming her assumption.

She was right—just like with the Blacksmith Class, players could choose between auto- crafting or manually constructing the item. The same principle applied to the Golem Creator

Class.

Using the UI's designer feature allowed for an automated build, but manual construction was also an option. It required more time and effort, but afterward, the skill could still be applied to transform the frame into a functional golem.

They waited patiently as his dream of the crawling carriage began to take shape before their

eyes.

The result was an impressive, grand metallic carriage with a rectangular frame, heavily armored plating, and ten segmented legs resembling those of an insect.

The legs were clearly designed for both agility and strength, making it perfect for traversing diverse terrains. The carriage featured reinforced windows, dark and opaque from the

outside.

Even before it was complete, he could tell this golem was the transportation tool he had envisioned. A grin spread across his face as he imagined putting it to use.

[Progress: 98%]

The anticipation grew with every passing second. And then, finally—

[Progress: 100%]

[The construction process is complete.]

[Epic-grade Betteforge Crawler Level 205 has been successfully built.]

Broken beamed with pride when he saw that the golem's level matched the Soul Stone he had

fed into it.

And it was Epic-grade!

Eager to uncover the finer details, Broken quickly opened the golem's status interface to

inspect its tier and the skills it possessed.
