Chapter 180 Source Of The Resentment
POV Some random players that will never again appear in the story:
A small group of players ran through the burned wasteland. The whole sky above them was flooded with light and lightning. Charred bodies of angels kept raining from the sky, slowly dissipating into motes of light as they fell.
Suddenly three angels descended from the sky, hovering above them, their spears of light brightly glowing. They flapped their wings without making any sound, their shining eyes locked upon the players.
"Fuck, prepare for a battle!" one of the players shouted as he pointed his staff with a large gem at the trio of angels. His name was Takahashi, and his level reached his late forties.
"Calm down, dude. Their levels are only in their thirties!" his friend looked at him perplexed, not understanding the panic of his friend.
One of the angels moved, flapping its wings and turning into a white blur of light as they crossed the distance towards the doubting player in a second.
Before the player could even react, a shiny light spear stabbed through his chest, piercing his plate armour and coming out through his back.
The player looked at the spear stabbed in his chest, his body heating up with light starting to shine through his skin. The next moment his body exploded in a flash of light, leaving nothing behind.
At that moment, everyone turned serious, realising that angels were way stronger than their level told as they were one of the most powerful races in the game, with powerful racial bonuses.
Takahashi aimed his staff, and bright blue mana gathered on its tip and launched out in the form of a fast spike of pure element-less mana.
It flew through the air at an immense speed, leaving behind a blue trail.
It hit the angel that still didn't manage to retreat after its last attack. The blue light flashed through its ethereal body, its light slightly dimming down.
Everyone already wanted to breathe down in relief when a beautiful crystal clear voice that resonated with something deep inside of their hearts came from the sky.
"Do not resist judgment! Let us purify your body stained with sins allowing your soul to reincarnate in a new pure form!"
A shiny light glowed upon the frozen players. An angel with two pairs of pristine white wings levitating high above them. Their body fully decked in shiny silver armour engraved with white glowing letters.
The two-winged angel slowly pointed its spear at the players, the radiance of its tip quickly rising. A terrifying presence and purity radiating out of its body.
"We are so dead..." Takahashi resigned, preparing to be wiped down by the mighty angel.
Before any of his friends could even comprehend his words, a bright light flashed, blinding them all, their bodies instantly vanishing under the white destruction.
POV Vesuvius:
The neon red breath was drowning the three-winged angel, washing around the cracking bubble of light. The red light illuminated the whole sky.
The angel was dimming down as it pushed all of its power to maintain the barrier. The death energy was spreading from its injured hand, with black veins spreading through its body of light and the shiny armour.
Vesuvius kept spitting more and more of his breath, his golden reptilian eyes brightly shining and his hearts loudly pounding in the excitement of finally destroying the annoying angel.
Suddenly a quiet voice whispered into the dragon's soul, ''Destroy them all!''
The cursed heart in his chest started to radiate cold energy that slowly spread through his whole body, filling his mind with hatred and resentment.
''Avenge me!'' the cold and quiet voice kept whispering over and over, with each word resonating with the dragon's soul.
Images of the whole sky filled with unending waves of angels continuously launching their spears at a huge white dragon appeared in his mind.
The dragon was gigantic, their body dwarfing Vesuvius multiple times over. Their white and sleek scales were covered in shiny ice-like crystals with icebergs growing on their back.
Everything was frozen, with land covered in ice and snow. Millions of ice shards kept rotating and whirling around the dragon, cutting angels apart, their bodies of light shredded apart.
Vesuvius felt something change, his hatred towards angels deepening even more.

The neon red colour of his breath turned even brighter, with pulsing red lines spreading through the surface of the light bubble protecting the three-winged angel. Its surface started to flicker, its energy vanishing even faster.
'So you were killed by angels.' As a response to the Vesuviuse's thoughts, more images flashed before his eyes. They were passing before his eyes like a fast-forwarded movie.
The ice dragon stood like a cliff amid the flocks of angels, their light spears and beams bouncing off their scales and refracting in the constantly regrowing layer of ice protecting the dragon.
Then the massive mouth of the dragon opened up with a freezing feeling and blue light leaking out. The surroundings immediately froze even more, and a massive, complex light-blue magical circle within a square that was within a triangle flared up in their gaping mouth.
The images vanished again, leaving Vesuvius facing the dying angel. He was perplexed after seeing the magical circuit, 'Three layers...'

The red light turned even more intense, the crooked stars in the Vesuviuse's mouth trembling and brightening, a terrific amount of mana passing through them.
Vesuvius didn't feel any extra strain, his mana not dropping any faster, as if it wasn't even his own mana that was being used.
The three-winged angel staggered back, the red light seeping through the barrier around it. The curse seeped into its body and armour, and the light in the helmet's visor quickly dimmed. Its wings were flapping slower and slower with each passing second.
Finally, the angel stopped moving, the light radiating through the gaps in its armour vanishing. The barriers shattered, and the red breath devoured the angel, its whole body immediately vanishing.
