I've Become the King of Villains in the Game

Chapter 134 Circus (Three in One)

"..."

The others fell silent upon hearing Maggie's words.

As one of the only two Sequence Eights in the Circus, her status was quite high. Especially after the Leader and the old man had fallen, this duo had become singular.

But she wasn't popular among the members, who generally disliked interacting with her, mainly because she was a bit off in her head.

Apart from when she was mixing medicine for the organization, she was unseen, usually preferring to be alone in a corner, talking to herself relentlessly, and even occasionally laughing excitedly, dancing and gesticulating.

Such mental instability made the Circus members uneasy.

"Since Maggie does not take a stand, and none of us can convince the other, let's just go our separate ways."

The muscular man in the tank top said.n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om

"Fine, but the others have to come with us."

The woman with short hair took a sharp breath and pointed toward the others leaning against the wall in the shadows.

The bearded man and the muscular man in the tank top both looked grim, but then Maggie spoke again:

"No, they cannot go with you."

"Hmm?"

The woman's hand paused, and ash fell from her cigarette.

"Why? Without peripheral members to assist, how can just us two Transcendents make a move?"

"What do I care!"

Maggie suddenly looked fierce, staring intently at the short-haired woman.

"If they all leave, who will test my medicines for me?!"

The others were shocked. Enjoy more content from empire

Not just by Maggie's sudden outburst, but also by her words.

Testing medicines?

This was unheard of; could it be...

"The Leader has been hiding this from us, using peripheral members to test medicines on you?!"

The muscular man in the tank top said sternly.

"Outstanding medicines require sacrifices... What did you think, how 'Serenity Potion' and 'Blood Bottle' came to be."

Maggie said.

The other four silently looked down at the two medicine bottles on their waists, speechless.

The peripheral members leaning against the wall showed no reaction.

Then, Maggie suddenly shifted from sitting to kneeling, promptly lying on the ground, sniffing around like a dog.

The others frowned, thinking she was having another episode.

"There are rats!"

Maggie whispered.

"It's normal to have rats here; this is an old factory."

The short-haired woman tossed her cigarette into the fire, resignedly speaking.

"There are many rats!"

Maggie continued.

The people sitting suddenly stood up, all looking toward the door.

Innumerable rats, unknown when, had surrounded them.

Around the door, next to the columns, on the rusty machines, the beams, and the windows, were all pairs of gleaming, black eyes.

"Damn! Someone is targeting us!"

The short-haired woman pulled out a dagger.

Click...click...

In the silent factory, apart from the crackling of the fire, only a series of clear footsteps slowly approached.

"I have an idea, would you like to hear it?"

A young man's voice came.

In the shadows, numerous rats scurried away as a man dressed in a black suit, wearing a black hat, holding a Silver Staff, slowly walked into view.

"Who might you be?"

The bearded man asked, his expression serious.

"Jack, Jack Spett..."

The young man with black hair stood erect, resting one hand on his Silver Staff, tipping his hat with the other.

He revealed a polite smile and continued:

"Members of the Circus, you may call me 'Mr. Spade.'

"Spade... Jack? The guy who was wanted across the city not long ago, what do you want?"

The man next to the short-haired woman asked coldly.

"Hmm... I'm just concerned about your future and came to offer some strategies. Just now I said I have an idea, why not listen?"

Chen Lun smiled.

"Oh? What's the idea, let's hear it...maybe..."

The man was mid-sentence when he suddenly raised his arm, aiming a Flintlock Gun at the young man with black hair.

His eyes were cold, his finger pulled the trigger.

Bang!!

A bullet hole appeared between the man's eyebrows, his eyes widened, then he collapsed to the ground.

The others were startled, turning to see the young man with black hair holding a revolver, smoke drifting from the barrel.

"See, he was ready to make a move first... can't blame me."

Chen Lun's smile remained as he looked at the remaining four people.

He then aimed the revolver at the short-haired woman.

"Madam, were you about to rush me while he was shooting?"

The heavily made-up woman's heart skipped a beat.

Her expression changed slightly, then she quickly sheathed her dagger, forcing a smile.

"Absolutely not, you misunderstand, sir."

No sooner had the words left her mouth than her form blurred, and she ran swiftly toward the back door.

As a member of the Conspiracy Faction, Sequence Nine - Thief, her agility was remarkable, and she quickly reached the back door.

Efficiently pulling open the rusty iron door, she darted out of the factory.

Following the dark alley, weaving through twists and turns, she eventually left the industrial zone and arrived on the main street. Glancing back and seeing no one in pursuit, she breathed a sigh of relief.

"Phew... good thing I'm fast; that mysterious guy is too dangerous to face..."

The short-haired woman hurried forward, noticing a carriage parked by the roadside.

Her spirits lifted, she quickly went over to wake the dozing coachman, asking to be taken to the train station.

Then she lifted the carriage curtain, sat on the leather bench, and began to contemplate her next move.

"First to leave Amber City, that damned guy cost me a lot... The Leader's powerful backers should have arrangements in other cities, maybe I could try there."
