Infinite Potential System

Chapter 478 Spatial Focus, It's Time To Upgrade!

The other students were not paying close attention to William, but he got the feeling that if he reached into the treasure chest right now, they would instantly notice.

Instead, William pretended to lean on the treasure chest to catch his breath, using a tiny amount of Earth Mana to form an extending hook from his arm.

He controlled the Earth Hook to tear away at the material in the treasure chest, revealing a glass lens covered in even more elaborate Runes than the Ring of Earthen Storage. He changed the form of the hook to wrap around the lens, ensuring not to damage it by accident.

Retracting the Earth Hook, William pulled the glass lens into the sleeve of his Illusionist's Cloak, perfectly concealing it from the students' view. At the same time, the hallway's extension started to reverse, bringing the students closer to one another with each passing second.

-Acquired Spatial Focus: +3 AP

———

Spatial Focus (Rare Ascended Artifact): An Artifact designed by an unknown Tier 8 Array Master that was lost for many years. It seems a natural Dungeon absorbed this treasure and used it as reward for a trial. Can be placed to expand the space within a Spatial Artifact by many times. Effects are dependent on the level of the original Artifact.

Durability: 100000/100000

William's eyes lit up when the System showed the appraisal window for him. If he placed this within either one of the Space Rings attached to him or in the Starmetal Safe, he could expand his storage even further!

-Why not use it on the Earthen Ring?

William smiled. I'm sure the intent was to expand the space of the Ring of Earthen Storage, but that would be a waste in my opinion. I'll be a Tier 7 Array Master soon enough, and then I'll just make more Rings!

-In that case, just wait until you're Tier 8 and make more Spatial Focuses...

Who knows how long that will take? Especially when it's you. I'm going to... focus... on what's closest.

-You're terrible at puns. Don't do it again.

And you can do better?

-Hmph! Why would I stoop to such a level?

William almost laughed out loud, but then he remembered that he was in a room full of third-year students. He quickly composed himself and traveled to the end of the hallway before it could return to its normal length.

Once he was out of view of the other students, William used a weaker version of Spatial Steps to cross long distances in a short amount of time, keeping his Navigation Radar up at all times so he wouldn't get lost.

As much as he admired the past students' actions of placing Spirilights and torches to guide others, William had no intention of doing so at the current moment. He needed to find a safe space to upgrade his Talents, and guiding the third years to him was counterproductive.

While he traveled, William thought about the current situation. The Quake Dungeon was previously a common area for second-year students and would probably turn into a hotspot for the first years later on.

That being said, why were the third-year students here? They had the Filem Academy Dungeon to explore at their own whim; why would they need to be here?

Was it simply because of the treasure spotted on the 14th floor? Was that really it, or was there something else? He knew that it had been years since anyone reached a new floor, but how could it be this big of a deal?

Either something had happened at the Filem Academy Dungeon, or there was something else in the Quake Dungeon that had caught the third years' interest.

After around fifteen minutes of aimlessly traveling through the 14th floor, William finally encountered the first Magical Beast. It was another Quake Slime like before, but its Cultivation was at the very peak of the Ascension Realm.

Just one? There aren't very many enemies on this floor at all... William found the situation suspicious, but he didn't think too much and slaughtered the Quake Slime with a single punch using the Collateral Damage Talent. He collected the two Quake Gems and continued forward.

Another half an hour and only four kills later, William found a small hidden room that could only be seen with the Navigation Talent.

The only way inside was by pressing on the wall and sliding a block of stone to the left, a very stereotypical method that was common in one of the games that William played.

Inside was a treasure chest holding four hundred Quake Gems, of which he took both the Gems and the chest itself. He closed the stone door behind him and sat cross-legged on the floor.

The only reason he didn't take the previous chest was because everyone was watching, and he didn't want to stand out more than he already had. If people found hidden rooms in the future without any chests in it, they'd probably suspect William.

Hmm, what to upgrade? William thought as he looked at his Talents.

With the two treasures from the first chest, William had earned an additional 5 AP. That made for a total of 14 Ascended Points. Since most of his Talents only needed one Ascended Point to upgrade, he had quite a few options.

I could also upgrade my Potential Farms, but they wouldn't give me a lot of benefit right now. I'd rather wait on that... Stay connected through empire

William decided to start by upgrading the weaker Talents that had yet to become Ascended. He started with Consumables Expert and Noble Prowess, which were both A-Rank Legendary Talents and each cost only 660 thousand Potential Points to upgrade.
