I Spread my Genes to Level Up in the Apocalypse

Chapter 234 Demon God, Creating Artificial Enlightenment

There are two sides to every coin.

As the saying goes, where there is supposedly "good," there is also "evil." Cultivation was not exclusive to humans; Demons were part of it too. They had their own Demon Gods, and unlike the partially disunited human race, all demons prayed to these Demon Gods with near-total devotion.

Counting them together, there appeared to be only eleven Universal beings in this plane. However, it was unlikely that these beings were tied to the core of the universe.

Ray wasn't afraid of fighting them. In fact, he was thrilled by the mere thought of it. Unfortunately, if someone randomly attacked him with Universal Detachment, everything would be over. He neither liked taking that risk nor found it particularly interesting.

"So, Luo Shuchun, do you know who I am?" Ray asked with a chuckle.

Luo Shuchun looked directly at him and replied, "I know you are the person the entirety of our world is looking for."

"Haha, that's correct."

Ray grinned from ear to ear, then reached out to pull her cheeks. "I didn't expect you to be this smart."

"I thought you'd act dumb or something."

A flicker of annoyance crossed Luo Shuchun's face before her calm expression returned. She looked at him and said evenly, "Would it matter?" She let Ray continue tugging at her cheeks as much as he pleased.

"I thought, judging by your cold exterior, your skin would be cold too, but instead, it's warm," he remarked.

"I'm a fire cultivator," she said simply.

"Show me, then," Ray replied, his eyes gleaming.

"Yes," Luo Shuchun replied, closing her eyes.

The wind around her stirred, gradually growing turbulent. Flames began to envelop her body, forming a blazing vortex with her at its center. Sweat beaded on her forehead, only to evaporate instantly in the searing heat.

"Eh? Aren't you supposed to be resistant to fire if you're a Fire Cultivator?" Ray asked, his expression stunned.

"No," she said evenly, her eyes still closed. "I need to reach at least Tier Four before I gain resistance to it."

"I see," Ray mused, then added nonchalantly, "I'm curious—what's your perspective on cultivation?"

"Don't you already know everything from my grandfather?" Luo Shuchun countered, opening her eyes to meet his gaze. "He's a Tier Four Wizard, while I'm just beginning my cultivation journey."

Ray didn't reply. Instead, he looked at her with a meaningful, unreadable expression.

"Do you know the difference in perspective?" Ray asked, his tone curious yet calm.

"Difference in perspective?" Luo Shuchun frowned. "What more could I know than my grandpa?"

"I don't know either." Ray shrugged casually. "No matter how powerful your grandpa is or how much more experienced he might be, everyone's path is slightly different. No two journeys are exactly the same."

He leaned in slightly, his eyes glinting with interest. "So, tell me—what is cultivation to you? What does it mean?"

'Besides,' Ray thought to himself with a smirk, 'why would I listen to an old man's constant nagging when I could enjoy the company of such beauty?'

"I…" Luo Shuchun hesitated, biting her cold, blue lips. A tentative expression flickered across her face before she closed her eyes, lost in thought.

"Think," Ray's voice echoed in her mind, soft, like a whisper that refused to fade.

"Cultivation, for me, is like resonating with fire," Luo Shuchun said, her tone resolute. "It burns me, but at the same time, it allows me to nurture a seed that can grow within this fire and eventually liberate me from it."

Ray's eyes immediately flashed, a spark of intrigue igniting within them. A significant surge of Mutation Energy flowed from his body, spreading into the atmosphere like an unseen tide.

As this energy spread, his "Will" principle unfurled alongside it, intertwining with various other principles such as "connect." The Mutation Energy mingled with a strange force in the surroundings—a potent, fierce energy far more intense than his own.

"This is Qi," Ray muttered to himself, his eyes narrowing as his thoughts crystallized. The realization echoed in his heart like a steady drumbeat.

As the Mutation Energy began merging with the Qi, unknown changes rippled through the atmosphere. Simultaneously, Ray directed some of the strands toward Luo Shuchun.

Hum! Hum! Ting!

Strange noises resonated in the space, growing louder with each passing second.

Luo Shuchun lifted off the ground, her body floating effortlessly as all the surrounding Qi converged on her. A brilliant golden beam erupted from her, piercing the heavens and illuminating the area with an ethereal glow.

"Hahaha, I did it!" Ray laughed wildly, spreading his arms wide as if to embrace the moment. Enjoy new stories from empire

"I've created the famed enlightenment of the cultivation world."

His gaze shifted to the sky, where a faint, ethereal image of a massive bell hovered. Its presence was overwhelming, radiating an aura so terrifying that the vibrations shook the very air around them.

The clouds grew dense, swirling with an ominous energy, and lightning crackled fiercely across the heavens.

"This... this is…"

An old man, a Tier Four Spiritual Cultivator, who had been resting in his chamber, felt the disturbance. His eyes shot open, wide with disbelief, but before he could react further, a deep voice echoed in his mind. Without hesitation, he disappeared from his room, tasked with calming the panicked people in the estate.

Ray, standing amidst the phenomenon, observed the golden beam of light with an expression of fascination. His gaze shifted to Luo Shuchun, now engulfed by the extraordinary energy, and he began to study her intently.

"This state is incredibly valuable for my research," he murmured, his eyes gleaming with anticipation.

He could sense it—the moment the golden bell appeared in the sky, Luo Shuchun had formed a direct connection to the core of the Yuantian Universe itself.

While Ray continued studying the phenomenon with his True Eyes, the commotion it caused couldn't be contained.Nôv(el)B\\jnn

The entire Phoenix City, where they resided, was alerted. Countless cultivators took to the skies, rushing toward the source of the anomaly with excitement and curiosity.

"It's been centuries since a genius of this caliber has emerged in our city!"

"To achieve enlightenment… and it seems to be a mere Tier One young cultivator."

"But still…" An old man wearing a golden crown appeared in the sky. He was followed by an entourage of old figures, their long white beards and aged hair.

"The times are troubling," the crowned man spoke, his voice heavy with sigh. "The future is uncertain, especially with the summoning of Mount Sumeru looming over us."

As his words lingered in the air, a sudden and terrifying presence descended upon the city from outside its borders.

Under his horrified gaze, the crowned man watched as countless demons emerged from the shadows, their overwhelming presence suffocating the city. Each step they took caused the earth to tremble, their sheer might radiating a primal terror.

"The Demonic Beasts that were hiding… they've come out…"

He whispered, his voice trembling. An audible gulp echoed through the tense silence, reverberating among the gathered cultivators.

"Hahaha!"

A booming laugh shattered the air as a towering figure strode forward. The creature had a muscular, six-packed torso, a long, curved horn jutting from its head, and the lower body of a massive, armored horse.

Its crimson eyes glowed with malice as it snarled, charging toward the city with unrestrained ferocity.

"Every cultivator in the world has been summoned to Mount Sumeru, and the world is in chaos," the demon bellowed, its voice reverberating like thunder. "This is the perfect time for us to rise to the surface once more!"

His lips curled into a cruel grin. "Our first offering to the Demon God will be this so-called genius!"

His thunderous voice reverberated as he ascended into the air, wielding a massive axe. With a single, devastating slash, the protective barrier surrounding the city shattered like fragile glass, its fragments scattering like shards of a broken mirror.

Without hesitation, the demon charged toward the source of the golden bell's image.

"I shall drink your blood," he snarled, his voice dripping with venom, "to offer my first prayer to my god!"
