There was no friendship between the people of this group. They were just like coworkers that were working for the same person.

"Shouldn't you tell me about the person that you were talking about? If I need to join the team, I should at least know the leader." Karyk tossed aside the corpse of the man. He could see an easier route of getting his answers, which was better than devouring the man and going through his memories. Already his memories were in a mess with unfamiliar voices appearing in his head. If possible, he didn't want to gather more waste. That's why he didn't devour everyone that he had caught. "It is as you heard. The leader is a really frightening person. So you better hope that you don't offend him with your little acts of ignorance."

He walked over to the corpse of his colleague. He took off the storage ring from the man's finger and tossed it to Karyk, pointing towards the crystal near Karyk's feet. "Start gathering the crystals in the storage ring. Along the way, I will tell you everything that you need to know to survive in this cruel place.'

Karyk simply waved his hand, summoning all the crystals from the nearby thousands of corpses. He kept the crystals in his storage ring and asked, "Now that we are done, can you tell me?"

"Hmm? You are more useful than you look. Not bad. Fine, I will tell you everything that I know. So listen carefully without missing a single thing." With their work being completed sooner than expected, the man was already in a good mood. Karyk appeared very pleasing to his eyes, more than the person that had died. The man didn't realize that Karyk had already entered the city and returned alive. Instead, it was the city which had suffered from his appearance. "The city is the safest place in this world for us. The outside world probably thinks that most of the people who entered this world had died. It is partially true, but there are also many survivors that survived due to the existence of the city."

"We have to thank that man for this. Although most of the people in the initial group had died at the hands of Aetherians, he is the one person from the first batch to survive and hold the fort."

Still, the existence of that man was an outlier. "He is looking for something at this place. I don't understand much either. I have a rough guess that it has something to do with the origin of Aetherians. However, he is probably the only person who knows what they want."

'He is looking for Aether as well? Is Aether even in this world in the first place?' Karyk frowned. Even the Aetherians didn't know about the whereabouts of that thing after all. Did that man know? In that case, he needed to find that person even more.
