Chapter 130: This Is Going To Be A Long Night!
Jane was laid on the floor, gagged and bound with Mike just staring at her with a creepy smile on his face.
Jane was scared out of her mind. She couldn't speak, but she could tell that Mike's face was like that of a stranger.
"I have nothing against you, Jane… I have always wanted you to myself but I tried to use the proper method to make you mine…" Mike said, she couldn't respond to him due to her gagged state but he wasn't looking for a response.
"I finally have you now, all to myself. You're helpless and I can tell by the way you look at me that you hate me but can I tell you a secret?" Mike said before leaning in a little too close.
"... It turns me on," Mike licked his lips, looking at her from head to toe.
"But don't worry. We have all the time in the world to enjoy ourselves... after I kill that man called Kyle," Mike confessed, but this also revealed that he had no intention of letting Jane go.
Jane knew she had to remain calm in this situation because Mike hadn't hurt her yet even though she knew this would soon change.
"I know you want to ask why I wish to kill Kyle… I don't hate him, nothing as petty as that nor am I doing it because of your affection for him," Mike was speaking a little too much but only because a part of himself wished for Jane to understand his motive, to accept it.
"Nah, my reasons don't matter," Mike realized as it would only make Jane see him as an even bigger monster than he already was.
Mike touched her skin despite Jane flinching but Jane knew that she had to give a false impression so he doesn't perceive her as a problem.
She wanted nothing more than to bite off the hand touching her but that wouldn't play into Mike's fantasy.
Mike wanted her to accept him and she was beginning to get that even though it took her a while.
"I would never hurt you, Jane," Mike said, caressing her face but Jane gestured for him to remove her gag because she had something to say.
Mike knew this was probably a bad idea but even if she screamed.
It was useless as no one here was a decent human being.
If anything, her screaming would only put her in danger because there was no telling what the people here were capable of doing even though they were either too drunk or drugged up to do anything of note.
This was the only reason Mike took this chance, lowering her gag.
"You must think I'm a monster," Mike chuckled. Jane was never a good liar and knew that if she did, Mike would see through it– something she couldn't risk.
"No… If anything, I see you more clearly," Jane's voice was soft, she knew it would be stupid to try and talk him down from doing what he planned to do.
If anything, he must have thought about this for far too long for her to dissuade him in minutes but if she did this, she risked showing her true motive.
It wasn't going to end well and she knew it so she had to take a different approach.
"Look at me, Mike," Jane sounded like a mother comforting her child.
Mike reluctantly met her gaze, he expected her to try and talk him down, offering to run away with him so he would spare Kyle.
"Do what you have to do, I will be here waiting for you," Jane responded and Mike's eyes widened in shock.
This was the last thing he expected to hear from her, did Jane understand him?
"W-What the hell do you mean by that?" Mike stuttered, showing a crack in his otherwise ruthless persona.
"You are not a monster, Mike. I have never had someone go this far to show that they care about me. You could have hurt me but you didn't. It might sound crazy but I feel like I'm just meeting you," Jane said softly, it was hard to read her emotions due to her soft-spoken nature but Mike was disturbed by this.
He knew that good girls tend to have a thing for bad boys but never did he think that would apply to Jane.
She spotted a chink in his armour and planned to keep digging away at it but before the conversation could go further, a man walked in.
He had no hair but the tattoos littered not only his head. His face told her that this was a man she wanted no business with.
The way he looked at her, he didn't hide his perverse nature whatsoever and Jane immediately positioned herself behind Mike like a helpless puppy.
Mike liked this; it showed that she saw him as her protector, was this perhaps Stockholm syndrome? This was what Jane was going for and it was the only narrative that would work on Mike.
Mike noticed her unease and the protector instinct in him was subconsciously triggered.
"Step outside with me for a minute…" Mike instructed the man but he made sure to lock the door behind him the moment they did.
He might be one of his associates but Mike didn't trust him enough not to lay a finger on Jane.
-
Kyle was around the corner and could feel a thumping heart, it was so loud that he became convinced that others could hear it but this was impossible.
Kyle got closer to Jane but bumped into someone soon enough.
He looked up in horror but saw that it was a man that reeked of alcohol and the stench that oozed from his body nearly made Kyle throw up.
Kyle simply moved out of his way and walked right past him.
This place wasn't a haven for Mike and his supposed band of misfits.
It was an abandoned place that had people in dire conditions relocated there because, for one, there were no laws surrounding it.
Kyle chuckled to himself, this gave him a lot more freedom and the fact that Mike had no idea he had made his plan to isolate Jane had failed.
If these people here weren't his minions then it granted Kyle a lot more freedom when it came to movement.
He found a dirty rag nearby alongside a few emptied-out bottles of water.
Kyle tossed the rag over his expensive clothes, he didn't care if the stench ruined it as he could simply buy another. He noticed Mike's car parked nearby and knew that he had to be careful.
He couldn't beat Mike in a fight and Mike had the upper hand considering he had a gun he wasn't afraid to use.
"Should I have called for backup?" Kyle thought to himself but he didn't know what Ella was thinking right now.
She must have tried to call him but his line wasn't going through and if this was the case, Kyle knew she would only worry all the more.
But he asked her for trust and this was the time to test her resolve in this manner.
Kyle took a deep breath but before he took a step, he heard the door creak open with Mike and another unknown man walking out of it.
He was a bald man and that was the only feature that Kyle could make out due to the moon barely illuminating this area.
"You really got yourself a beauty this time," The man praised Mike but his voice was deep, it had bass.
"You cannot touch her. Unfortunately, this one is not for fun," Mike responded and at this moment, Kyle realized that this was something that Mike did often.
He couldn't wrap his head around how someone this sick could get into contact with Jane and Kyle began to wonder what would have happened if he didn't meet Jane at all.
What the fuck did Mike have in store for her? That didn't matter.
"Are you sure? Not even a little look?" The man barked but there was something about Mike that made him quickly correct.
"I-I'm just kidding, no need to be so serious! Fine, I will watch over her," The man conceded.
"Mike is their leader?" Kyle thought to himself, he also noticed that Mike made it clear that Jane wasn't to be touched.
"Where are you going anyway?" The man questioned, wondering why he couldn't watch over her himself if she was so important.
"I have one more person to bring here," Mike informed his colleague but who was referring to?
But one thing was certain, Jane was safe for now but Kyle knew that if he didn't have any mobile network here, that would be the case for Mike as well.
That meant if he wished to reach out to him then he needed to get out of here.
And that was exactly what he did, Mike hopped into his car and drove away.
He had a hostage that evened the playing field and there was no way he was going to let his trump card go.
He knew that Jane would hate him and want nothing to do with him after this but the truth was, Mike didn't plan on letting her go.
"Man, what a fucking buzz kill…" The man muttered but there was something malevolent about him, this man was a bigger threat than Mike and Kyle could feel it.
He grabbed his crotch. No, he was stroking it.
"As if I was going to listen to you either way," He muttered before heading back in.
The only thing stopping him from getting to Jane was the locked door but would that be enough?
