Chapter 228 Domain (Part 1)
'This technique should be enough to convince them.' Raydon deliberated before deciding on the technique he would demonstrate.
Because he didn't really have a high-rank item holder behind him and there was no other way to prove his worth to his family, he needed to convince them of his worth by showing them his strength. In light of the fact that Raydon's current performance had the potential to earn him another priceless item, there was no reason to hold back.
Raydon paused for a fleeting moment, his eyes gently closing as he took a composed breath. His eyes opened again in what seemed like a fraction of a second, revealing a mysterious hint of power.
"This?" Thalia muttered under her breath.
eαglesnᴏνel ''He was concealing his strength, huh? But still… '' Zephyr started to detect an increase in the presence that he felt emanating from Raydon and said.
''What kind of concealment technique is this that has even succeeded in fooling us? It must be at least a technique of the middle tier. '' Arden exclaimed, unable to contain his shock.
They realized that Raydon was using a technique to hide his power when they suddenly started to feel his power that they had not been able to feel a little while ago. The fact that this technique was able to fool even them, despite the fact that they were significantly stronger than Raydon, demonstrated how potent this technique was.
'Who is this high rank? He appears out of nowhere and teaches a mid-tier technique to a crippled child he has never met. ' Arden couldn't help but ponder the reasoning behind this action.
Even though they were a ruling family, they only possessed two techniques. Even the technique of which they were most proud and which propelled them to the position of the ruling family was only of a mid-tier, and the other technique was only of a low tier. Yet, somebody is teaching this technique to other people based on his own whims, as if the techniques were nothing more than trinkets.
This was not acceptable in any way.
''It seems that you are more than just a common servant to the esteemed item holder,'' Cael said.
No matter the family, they would never teach a mid-tier technique to a common servant, so Raydon's position was crystal clear.
''At least we didn't completely waste the blue-grade item. '' With displeasure in her voice, Elara said.
The technique that she possessed and was proud of was only of a mid-tier as well, and the fact that Raydon possessed a technique of the same quality bothered and made her jealous of him.
Everyone was envious and dissatisfied when they saw someone like Raydon, who had been completely useless not too long ago, now using a technique that was considered to be of a mid-tier, but at the same time, they were overjoyed that the likelihood of their future plans being successful had increased.
But very quickly, any traces of these emotions were swiftly overshadowed by the breathtaking spectacle that was taking place right in front of their very eyes.
*Crack*
*Crack*
Cracks started to reverberate through the air around Raydon, resonating with an intense sense of foreboding. The ever-increasing presence that Raydon was exuding became even more intense, whirling with observable energy and projecting a shadowy wave that emanated from his very being.
''W-What is this? ''
Elana, who was envious of the mid-tier technique she believed Raydon to be employing at the moment, could not believe her eyes when she witnessed this new development. The presence that she had been sensing emanating from Raydon had abruptly taken the form of a dark energy that had suddenly materialized around him. This energy was even interacting with the material world, as evidenced by the cracks that were beginning to appear in the wooden lining beneath Raydon's feet.
*Crack*
*Crack*
The black wave of energy didn't stop at its initial appearance; instead, it continued to spread throughout Raydon's body, gradually tearing apart any wooden coverings it came into contact with. The sounds of crackling continue to reverberate throughout the room as it expanded and spread.
And very quickly after that, it made contact with the table in front of Raydon and began to rip apart the surface of the table as well. Then it spread even further and began to form cracks on the seats where Elara and Seren were sitting, as they were the ones closest to Raydon.
''Ah' ''
Elara was still staring at Raydon in disbelief when the chair that she was sitting on suddenly shattered because it was no longer able to withstand the steadily growing cracks in it.
Watching as this wave of energy spread throughout the room, Seren was equally as shocked as everyone else. However, she was fortunate enough to notice her broken seat in time to get up and avoid embarrassing herself like Elara did.
The energy wave continued to propagate to the other seats, but to Raydon's surprise, it was unable to cause any damage to any of them; not even the tiniest crack appeared on any of them.
"So it wasn't merely a concealment technique," Zephyr said with a forced smile on his shocked face.
'What kind of technique is this? It reminds me of…It just can't be true. 'As Zephyr watched the shadowy wave being stopped by a transparent blue barrier that gave the impression it was made of water, his mind was filled with shocking thoughts.
Zephyr was certain Raydon wasn't using a skill, in which case they were able to sense the item activation. But in addition to that, he had never witnessed such a technique being used before, and the only thing that came to his mind was something that Raydon could not possibly be capable of doing.
Zephyr had convinced himself that what he was thinking was impossible, but clearly, he was not alone in this line of thinking, as the exact same thing was occurring to another person.
''How is it possible for you to have a domain? What level are you? No… There's no way to explain this with level. What rank are you? '' Thalia could not take it any longer and confronted him with her questions in a state of shock.
