Chapter 277 The Exchange of Questions! Song Liu's Illness?!
While everyone drank the tea Xin Yan made, she started narrating what happened that day, leaving out the part where Noah saved her.
"No wonder you want to know about it," Wu Han nodded after hearing the story. "You just entered the royal city and something like this happened. To think something like this would happen in the Royal City."
"Why would someone whom you just met self-destruct himself, it cannot just be so she cannot catch him?" Shisan could not believe the story.
'Even Xin Yan found it difficult to understand; she never met anyone outside the Tian Ren Empire, and she somehow made enemies in a place she had never been to.
"They are not your enemies," Wu Han heaved a heavy sigh of resignation. "Several incidents like this have been happening in the past but they were kept on low."
"What I am about to tell you cannot be talked about easily. I hope you keep this between us." He leaned forward and warned everyone.
"It all happened twelve years ago. There was news about people going missing in some of the small cities of the empire. No one thought of the news as a big deal, thinking it would have been the work of the disciples from the demonic sects."
Everyone became engrossed in the story as Wu Han continued.
"When the righteous sect sent their disciples to check on what was happening, they found nothing. No clues or any evidence was left behind. Not a single hair of the kidnapped people was left behind. It was like those people did not even have the time to react to the attack."
"Couldn't it be that the people kidnapped were very weak and they overpowered them?" Shisan interjected with a cold look in her eyes. Song Liu reached out to hold her hand, showing her support and care.
"That's what they thought too and sent one of the elders to guard each city they thought would be the next target for the attack, but that's when everything changed.
The elders they sent went missing! The same thing happened all over again. No traces and evidence were left behind. Not even the slightest trace of battle. But not everything was bad because one of the elders managed to survive and give us some information."
Every gaze in the room focused on Wu Han while Elysia looked through the information he described. Her eyes moved from left to right as details of the records flashed through her eyes. She was confirming the truth regarding this matter and the credibility of Wu Han's words.
"The elder told them that he saw something that scared him to the core. The people who went missing surrounded them. Each one of them had cultivation similar to his own. They all charged at him to kill him with their most powerful moves, and there was some kind of array placed in them that forbade him from leaving the place."
Taking a sip from his cup, he continued.
"The elder explained that everyone that was surrounding him had a lost look in their eyes and there was also a grin on their face." He looked at Noah while saying those words. Noah understood that this was the reason Wu Han was telling the story. The details of the people that surrounded the elder, matched the person that was keeping an eye on them.
"The elder barely managed to get out of the place but he had sacrificed a life-saving treasure he received from a domain. He told them something that stirred the minds of the righteous sect's leaders.
He said, 'They were not alone.'"
"Who else was there?" Noah asked while feeling something was wrong with whatever was happening in the empire. To do something like this on such a large scale was not the work of one organization.
Even if all the demonic sects were to band together, they would not be able to pull something like this off without leaving any clues behind.
It was either someone was helping them remove the clues or something entirely different was happening.
"He doesn't remember. The elder could not remember what he saw, it was not just that." Wu Han sighed out loud with a lot of weight behind his words. "After a few days, he started to lose every memory he had of that day. We stopped his memories from deteriorating any further by placing a seal but that was only a temporary solution."
Song Liu covered her mouth in shock but that was not even the worst news.
"That incident happened over 5 years ago and no such attacks happened after that day. Everyone thought the attacker got what they wanted and would not attack again but it looks like everyone was wrong."
Silence followed after Wu Han stopped speaking. The heaviness of the revelation suspended as everyone went into their own deep thoughts.
"How do you know all this?" Xin Yan asked with some doubt in her voice. She could not believe such a high level of information could be given to a random sect master no matter how powerful he had been.
"Hey-Hey~ I need some answers of my own before you go ahead and ask anything else." Wu Han immediately broke the tense atmosphere in the room with his sudden change in attitude.
He looked at Noah and added, "Tell me what did you mean when you said that there is something wrong with Song Liu."
His eyes did not have the look of playfulness from before showing how much he cared about his disciples.
Noah raised his eyebrows before signing. He got up from his sofa before walking towards Song Liu.
The girl watched with curiosity as he appeared in front of her. Shisan glared at Noah ready to make a move against him but her whole body froze in fear feeling a gaze from the side.
She got the feeling of being looked down on by a huge being.
"Huff!"
With a pale face, she turned to look at the smiling face of Xin Yan looking at her with a chilling look in her eyes.
Wu Han acted like he could not see anything besides his disciple. The attack from that previous punch still aching him. He could not believe there was someone like her in the kingdom who was still not famous.
He did not even try to check her cultivation out of fear of what he might discover.
Shaking off the useless thoughts he focused on Noah who focused on Noah who placed his right hand on Song Liu's head.
*Woosh!*
A couple of seconds after he placed the hand on the girl's head, something flashed out of her body, shocking everyone in the room.
