Follow the path of Dao from infancy

Chapter 357: Chapter 6: Who Dares to Mock My Son (Extra chapter for Alliance Hierarch 'Ci Li Ci Li', thanks!)

Li Hao was somewhat surprised; he hadn't expected the other party not to get angry or scold him.

The other's countenance was majestic and martial, with thick eyebrows that exuded an imposing air even when not angry, but at this moment, the genial expression softened the accumulated might between the brows, creating the warmth of a spring breeze sweeping across willows.

"What are you painting? Let me see."

Li Tianzong walked over and saw the figure sketched on Li Hao's drawing board, vaguely recognizing it as a woman.

Li Hao's Art of Painting hadn't reached a professional level, and at this moment, the portrait he painted was rather inaccurate. Filled with curiosity, Li Tianzong asked, "Who is this a painting of?"

"Mother."

Li Hao was referring to the "mother" of his current body, Chen Hefang.

He felt somewhat embarrassed; his painting skills were still too poor, not even qualifying as a portrait, hardly recognizable.

If he were to draw a wanted criminal, he figured that even if the criminal came to tear down the notice, nobody would be able to recognize them...

When Li Tianzong heard Li Hao's response, he paused for a moment, then burst out laughing, saying, "It's quite good, but your mother is more beautiful than what you have painted here. You'll need to practice a lot more."

Li Hao's heart was increasingly surprised; from the other's response, it seemed there was no intention to stop him from pursuing this "ungainly" practice.

"I'll work hard," Li Hao said.

Li Tianzong ruffled his little head, saying, "Once your painting skills have improved, paint one for me too, including your brothers and little Hongzhuang."

As he said this, he glanced at Li Hongzhuang, who was sitting by the side eating pastries.

Li Hongzhuang: "?"

Her bright, sparkling eyes looked at them in confusion, unaware of what they were jovially discussing.

Li Hao's head was rubbed by the large palm, yet he felt the warmth and loving tenderness in it. He was slightly taken aback; despite this place being the Mo River and the "father" in front of his eyes being the grandfather who had long since passed away, for some reason, there was an indescribable feeling in his heart.

It was like a long-unhealed tear that was finally being drawn together in this moment.

He fell silent for a moment, then nodded earnestly:

"I will hone my painting skills!"

Li Tianzong smiled and said, "Once you've painted well, I'll truly treasure it. My son has talent not only in Martial Arts but also exceptional artistic flair, haha!"

After laughing for a bit, he added, "But don't forget to learn to read and write. After your bone age is measured at five, you'll start learning the Cultivation Technique every day, understand?"

With that, his expression became slightly more earnest.

"Yes!"

Li Hao nodded, flashing a toothy smile.

Two rows of pearly white teeth shone brightly on the cheeks of the child.

"Come on, let's go have something tasty," he said.

Picking up Li Hao, Li Tianzong then scooped Li Hongzhuang with his other arm and carried them both, one on each side, out of the side room.

When they reached the courtyard, Chen Hefang hurriedly approached upon seeing Li Tianzong carrying both Li Hao and Li Hongzhuang, softly chiding:

"Look at you, they're so big now, and you're still carrying them. Aren't you afraid of being a laughingstock if others see you?"

"Who would dare laugh at my children?"

Li Tianzong's eyebrows shot up, displaying a bit of his authority, before he again broke into laughter, saying, "The situation outside Dragon City is not good, and I'm rarely at home, so naturally, I want to spend more time with the children."

"You need to be more careful outside too," Chen Hefang said.

Hearing him bring up Dragon City, a worried look spread across her previously smiling face.

Li Tianzong shook his head, laughing, "They're just small matters; I'll handle them. Let's not talk about these now. At home we don't discuss state affairs. Come, let's get some tasty treats, and then we'll go to the training field to see how well the eldest and the others are practicing. If anyone isn't doing well, I'll send them to train in the famous mountains outside."

Chen Hefang couldn't help but smile, knowing his temperament and not trying to persuade him further, she instructed the maids to fetch some pastries from the kitchen.

Li Hao's gaze flickered slightly, glancing at them. Although this moment's warmth was precious, watching those "brothers" train at the practice field was meaningless to him.

The time that passed while he was conscious would be equally returned to his body once he left the Mo River, so he chose to accelerate and skip ahead.

As the couple spoke softly to each other, leading Li Hao and Li Hongzhuang to the training field, Li Hao closed his eyes to accelerate while they watched the other "brothers" practice.

In the blink of an eye, several days passed.

Li Hao was still refining the Demon King's exotic blood every day, choosing to jump to his free time to continue painting and accumulate Painting Experience.

With each sketch, Li Hao's mind gradually calmed, his heart seemingly relaxed, as he focused intently on drawing in the side room.

Sheet after sheet of paper was peeled off, with the people portrayed becoming clearer and more beautifully depicted, as graceful as jade.

When his Art of Painting advanced to level 2, Li Hao's brush strokes seemed to be guided by a divine hand, his control greatly improved, making the depiction much more precise, clear enough to produce lifelike portraits.

Li Hao portrayed Chen Hefang, Li Tianzong, and Li Hongzhuang one by one. The Painting Experience he gained while depicting different people varied.

The floor of the room was scattered with Xuan paper everywhere.

As the sky in the courtyard darkened, upon hearing Zhao's voice calling him for dinner, Li Hao stopped and then immediately chose to fast-forward.

With a shift of the surroundings, it was another free day several days later.

He was still sitting in the side room, painting, but to Li Hao's surprise, the Xuan paper scattered on the floor around him had all disappeared.

Li Hao thought it over and decided that painting was the most important thing to do first.

The time he skipped over with each closing of his eyes was at least three to four days, difficult to control. If he accelerated slightly longer, it was half a month later.

At the moment, while he was painting, Li Hongzhuang pushed open the door, poked her head in, and snuck in to give Li Hao a piece of pastry.

Interrupted during his painting, Li Hao wasn't upset; he smiled and accepted the pastry with his mouth, asking as he ate, "Hongzhuang, where are my paintings?"
