Flashy Adventurer System : Show Off to Get Stronger!

Chapter 469 Death Incarnate

Under the stern yet respectful gazes of the guards, Shye entered the (A-) ranked Abomination Lord Dungeon.

Right after arriving at the dungeon's mouth, though, he immediately heard harrowing howls and terrifying roars that would surely send chills down an adventurer's spine.

Looking around, Shye noticed that the gray walls were speckled with bits of rotten flesh and bones, yet there wasn't even a hint of a putrid odor.

Naturally, Shye was pleased by this, as maintaining focus is crucial for surviving difficult situations, and a strong, unpleasant smell would undoubtedly hinder concentration.

'At least the ground is normal…'

Surveying the terrain was an important part of combat as slipping or tripping mid-fight would be lethal, especially in a high-level battle where one's head might be severed or crushed in a single hit.

Fortunately, the dungeon's surface was a regular condensed soil, making it easy for humans like Shye to make nimble maneuvers.

However, the dungeon's pathways, although wide, weren't as wide as Shye preferred it to be.

'This shall do…'

He didn't know the size of the dungeon's interior or the locations of the generals and the lord, so he had to minimize resting as much as possible.

Consuming one natural recovery pill that would allow him to stay awake for 42 hours without needing sleep, Shye walked deeper at a slightly faster pace than usual, not daring to take it easy at all.

After just five minutes, he arrived at a spacious area teeming with strange, gooey green eggs, causing a frown to emerge on Shye's face.

'I should probably destroy these eggs…'

It wouldn't take him even a minute to do so anyway, better be safe than sorry later.

Replacing the greatswords in his hands with two elemental staffs, Shye aimed at the eggs and fired spells of various elements, causing great devastation in the area.

Moments later, though, Shye felt hair-raising danger from above.

Looking up, Shye's eyes widened.

Attached to the rocky ceiling of the area were hundreds of creatures humanoid in shape, however, compared to humans, their rotten yet dried and solid flesh was exposed.

Their eyes were that of a bloodthirsty beast and they had sharp claws that allowed them to attach themselves to the ceiling and teeth and fangs that could rip a human apart in mere seconds.

"Ghouls!"

Shye recognized the creatures as he had once scrolled through them in the adventurer encyclopedia.

Ghouls were (B-) ranked creatures with tremendous speed and power, however, they were stupid as heck.

Even a single ghoul was enough to tear apart an entire party of ruby-ranked adventurers, but above Shye, there were hundreds of ghouls, creating a spine-chilling scene that almost certainly spelled doom.

Shye knew that there was no room for fear, though. If he wanted to survive, then he better work for it!

Changing back to Adamance and Mithra, Shye immediately went all out, howling to the skies and summoning his wings.Nôv(el)B\\jnn

Furthermore, he used all of his [Enhance] self-buff skills to further increase his attributes.

Based on his experience, the earlier he used such skills, the more he would get to use them in combat.

Armed with confidence, bravery, and overwhelming strength and speed, Shye ferociously flew skywards, courageously facing hundreds of falling ghouls head-on.

Unbeknownst to Shye there were a few recording crystals set up in each area of the lord dungeon, allowing someone from the WAA to watch his attempt and make sure that he would not take forbidden pills and tonics.

After all, a hero could not look as hideous as a villain.

If he used such consumables, he would fail, regardless of whether he achieved any of the three levels of completion.

Naturally, Shye had no plans of using such items as all he brought were consumables sold from licensed shops like Constantine Consumables.

…Dodging the first ghoul's sharp claws with pinpoint precision, Shye reaped the lives of around seven ghouls who were positioned behind the first one, utterly caught off guard by Shye's picture-perfect evasion.

Only, Shye was now in mid-air and the middle of hundreds of terrifying claws and fangs.

'Rush Stab!'

Focusing on a twitching ghoul corpse on the ground, Shye managed to escape an unfavorable situation and lured over a hundred ghouls to cluster together, positioning himself to annihilate them all with a single powerful area-of-effect skill.

Switching weapons once more, Shye aimed his ruby-tier elemental staff toward the grouping ghouls.

'Fireball! Boost! Boost! Boost!'

Without hesitation, Shye used all three charges of his [Boost] skill, causing it to go on cooldown.

However, in exchange, his simple fireball spell now appeared as though it was an entire small planet made of flames, enveloping the entire area with its fiery glow.

Faced with such a horrifying spell, even the bloodthirsty ghouls felt fear through their sharp survival instincts.

Unfortunately, they didn't have the appropriate attributes to get out of the gigantic fireball's destructive path on time.

It was simply too fast for a spell capable of utter devastation.

*BOOM!*

As the destructive spell made contact with the bodies of hundreds of ghouls, a massive explosion occurred, releasing thick black smoke laced with a putrid, charred odor that quickly permeated the entire area.

Soon after, as the smokescreen cleared, a scene unfolded that brought a smile to Shye's face and left the WAA proctor, watching his attempt through the recording crystals, wide-eyed with astonishment.

The multiple hundreds of ghouls were now down to around seventy.

Then, before the proctor was able to recover, Shye used one of his newly learned uncommon skills (from one of the books he looted from the syndicate lair), [Half-moon Slash Lv.2 (Uncommon)], to slay around twenty more ghouls.

The enormous half-moon-shaped slash mark shot forward with unexpected speed and ferocity, slicing the dumbstruck ghouls in half and taking their lives.

With only fifty remaining, Shye made quick work of them, gracefully dancing around the battlefield like death incarnate as he slaughtered ghouls one after the other, littering the ground with twitching corpses and black putrid blood.

'C-Crap…this kid…should I immediately inform my superiors?'
