First Immortal of the Sword

Fan Zhui wiped the blood from the corners of his lips, his expression heavy.

Xi Ning’s pretty face was as calm and tranquil as ever. Combined with the terrifying aura of a Great Profound Stage expert, she seemed extraordinarily dignified.

“Disappoint me?” Qing Xiao couldn’t help but laugh. “Your defeat is set in stone, and the heretic Reincarnator will soon be suppressed. Then, the good fortune of the Dragon Palace’s treasury, including the Book of Karma, will be ours. We’ll have killed multiple birds in a single stone. How could we possibly be disappointed?”

He wasn’t in a hurry to strike. 

This wasn’t just because he wanted to take his time to humiliate his opponent. No, he was deliberately stalling for time.

He could sense that the power of the Laws had been agitated. They’d set their sights on Xi Ning!

“Xi Ning, if you lower your head and admit defeat, I wouldn’t mind sparing your life and giving you a chance to turn over a new leaf,” laughed Qing Wu. “After all, we’re fellow denizens of the God Domain. There’s no need to fight to the bitter end.”

It might have seemed like she was trying to smooth things over, but in truth, she was trying to break Xi Ning’s will to fight.

“That’s right. I feel the same way,” said Jin Zhuliu. “The Laws of this place are full of karmic power, and they’re utterly taboo. If you attack without reservation, you’ll severely damage your foundations in the Grand Dao, and you can forget about becoming a goddess in this lifetime!”

Xi Ning said coldly, “Aren’t you worried about Gongyang Yu?”

Gongyang Yu said expressionlessly, “You needn’t worry about me. The Laws of heaven and earth have already injured me. Why concern myself with the consequences of going all out again? So long as I capture the heretic Reincarnator and bring him back to the God Domain, I’ll receive rewards enough to make up for everything I’ve lost!”

“So, that’s your plan.” Xi Ning nodded. “It’s just a pity…”

Qing Xiao and the others’ expressions filled with undisguised delight.

Just as they expected, a waterfall of the power of the Laws burst forth and descended upon Xi Ning.

A talisman shattered, and a strange, mysterious power of the Grand Dao surged forth to block the descending power of the Laws.

Before he could react, Su Yi swung his fist and attacked. Heaven and earth swayed beneath, and illusions of the cycle of reincarnation appeared, blanketing the sky like an abyss and destroying Gongyang Yu’s divine treasures as if they were made of rotten wood!

A series of explosions rang out in rapid succession.

Gongyang Yu’s hair stood on end. He was overcome with astonishment.

Those treasures were the trump cards he’d prepared to defend against the Laws of heaven and earth, but now, all of them had been destroyed!

It happened so suddenly that Gongyang Yu didn’t even have time to dodge. The Laws of heaven and earth were instantly upon him.

Gongyang Yu let out an agonized cry as he was sent flying backward, his body in tatters. The bright red power of karma bore into him like countless worms, burrowing deeper and deeper into his flesh.

His already injured body was instantly overcome with agony so intense that he longed for death.

It hadn’t been long since he’d suffered the suppression of heaven and earth while facing Su Yi. Now, it had happened again, and it almost shattered his cultivation base.

This unexpected development caught Qing Xiao and the others completely off guard. Their smiles froze in place.

The crux of the matter was that they’d never even considered the possibility that Xi Ning could somehow block the power of the Laws even after revealing her true Great Profound Stage cultivation base!

Su Yi was even more tyrannical. One punch, and he shattered more than ten divine treasures, leaving the Great Profound Stage Gongyang Yu badly injured!

Xi Ning and Su Yi cooperated with perfect tacit understanding.

Xi Ning swung her blue short halberd at the already injured Gongyang Yu; she wanted to finish the job.

Su Yi, meanwhile, disappeared into thin air.

“Qing Wu, watch out!!” bellowed Qing Xiao. 

A black divine pearl floated above his palm, like the strange eye of a devil. A scene was clearly displayed on its surface: Su Yi shuttling through the void, charging straight at Qing Wu!

“Activate!” Qing Wu’s expression shifted, and she poured all of her strength into the Ninebend Divine River Chains.

Layers of fiery divine chains appeared and surrounded her completely.

She’d only just finished this when a streak of sword qi appeared out of nowhere.

Boom!!!

Heaven and earth swayed, and the sky collapsed.

Su Yi’s endlessly tyrannical strike sent the red divine chains flying, but his power was entirely undiminished. His sleeves billowed around him as his palm pressed down on the air.

That streak of sword qi continued, heading straight for Qing Wu.

“This is bad!” Qing Wu’s heart shook as she sensed an impending lethal threat. She didn’t even need to think to know that if she didn’t use her true strength, she’d be suppressed and killed.

She suddenly gnashed her teeth, and her eyes blazed with madness.

Her aura expanded around her, soaring directly into the Great Profound Stage. She swung her fist and shattered Su Yi’s incoming strike with ease.

But Su Yi had already disappeared into thin air.

Meanwhile, a desperate, agonized shout rang out. The sound was enough to make one shudder.

When the divine children looked over, they saw that Gongyang Yu had been cleaved open. Fresh blood spurted from a startling, heart-shaking wound.

At this critical juncture, a glittering silver wheel of light flew out of his body, wrapping around his soul and avoiding Xi Ning’s otherwise lethal strike. 

Gongyang Yu’s soul fled in an instant, and soon, there was no trace of it.

“The Six Desires Divine Wheel!”

Xi Ning’s eyes narrowed, and she didn’t give chase.

The Six Desires Design Wheel was a true Epoch Treasure! It belonged to the clan behind Gonagyang Yu, and its power was unfathomable!

Meanwhile, Su Yi had already returned to Xi Ning’s side. He raised his hand and helped her block the descending power of the Laws.

From beginning to end, they cooperated beautifully. It was completely seamless.

“I’ll kill you, you little wretch!”

Qing Wu erupted with murderous intent and activated the Ninebend Divine River Chains. They descended through the sky and attacked Su Yi.

Xi Ning swung her halberd and clashed with Qing Wu’s chains head-on.
