Chapter 730: Anger and Frustration

Chapter 730: Anger and Frustration

"I'm okay with this body of mine. After staying in the Underworld for more than 20 years, I've grown accustomed to this body. In truth, I have no feelings for any. The only reason I came back to Edhen was to give the Legacy and also to check if you guys are okay." Titus interrupted, causing everyone to turn their attention towards him.

"L-Leaving? 'Sob' But are you okay with leaving us once and for all? Are you okay with leaving me all alone?" Jessie asked with a trembling voice.

Meanwhile, Rhea also gritted her teeth and shouted.

"Then, what about the ones who killed Daisy? What about the one who killed our master? That Griffon family and their ancestor! They are still roaming around with a proud look on their faces! What about the one who caused all this mess? Don't you at least want revenge?"

"Griffon family? Didn't you guys kill Andy Griffon already?" Titus asked as he recalled the moment Edith arrived there before he died.

"He died but his descendants and even his ancestor are still alive. More than that, the current head of the Griffon family also has the same name as the last one. It's as if they made that young child become the head to mock us." A furious look appeared on Rhea's face.

"The reason we are holding ourselves back is because we want you to avenge Daisy's death." Noel also muttered.

Meanwhile, Titus stood in silence for a few seconds and turned around.

"The one who killed Daisy is her brother and Andy Griffon's daughter Laney. I have long avenged her death by killing her brother and even the helper Laney. There is nothing here for me to get angry about."

At that moment, Charles closed his eyes and made a deep sigh.

"The one who caused this whole mess is a Divine named 'Goddess Sasha.' She has the power to manipulate fate and even uses the strange power of love. The moment you have fallen in love with Daisy, you have long become a puppet of her. The reason your progression hindered and caused you to give up on the pursuit of strength was also because of her. She is also the one who tried to take control of Rhea to get the Legacy."

Jessie, Rhea, and even Noel also knew of this matter and didn't show any surprise.

But Titus was stunned a bit.

"Now that I think about it, where is our Teacher?" He asked as he recalled Charles's Will had told him about the schemes of the divine.

A silence appeared in the area.

"H-He is no more. After your death, he confronted Archmage Marcus and died while protecting us. We are on our own." Noel answered with a bitter look.

A strange sense of loss appeared in Titus's mind. But he didn't lose himself in anger and calmly analyzed the situation.

"Even if we became Rank-5 Existences, aren't we still an ant to even think of killing a Divine? Although I became a peak Rank-5 Existence, I'm nothing more than a guard soldier in the Underworld. In that place, even a Legend Rank powerhouse is nothing more than a leader of a small unit. Even Rhea's ancestor is only around Rank-7 and is working under the Cursed Eye."

As Jessie was about to say something, Charles suddenly turned his gaze toward the direction of the east and squinted.

"I sense someone looking in this direction. It's Sasha." He instantly identified her and noticed she was only looking at them.

'So, they want us to make the first move, huh.' Nôv(el)B\\jnn

"Careful, her current strength is above Rank-6," Runeth warned him and soon added.

"And from the looks of it, she is expecting our reunion. So, what are you planning now?" Runeth asked.

Charles thought for a moment and soon shook his head.

"There is nothing to think about. We should act now rather than delaying it."

"Now?" Rhea asked stiffly.

"I didn't prepare anything. If we plan to go to war against the Griffon family, we should at least mobilize the Royal Army.

"Sasha has been waiting for Titus to bring back the Legacy." Charles paused as he looked at Titus and added.

"Although you have grown stronger, you are still under the influence of someone else. The same goes for Rhea. The more we move under someone else's Will, they will always be one step above us and could make us a chess piece at any moment. If you want to gain complete control over yourself, become strong and eliminate any possible threat."

"Any possible threat... I feel like I'm talking to Teacher Oswald." Titus recalled the moment he spent with his teacher and finally decided.

"I have indeed given up on living myself as human, but that doesn't mean I don't cherish my sister and friends. And if there is indeed a way to eliminate this divine being, I'll do my best to help you guys."

Charles's words also made Jessie realize what happened at the Miracle City. Even though she obtained the Divine Throne of Blood, her chance of entering the realm of Divine and becoming the true powerhouse is very minute.

'If I want to protect the people I cherish, I must become much stronger.' Rhea and Noel also became firm and decided to end this scheme once and for all.

"We have lost many things and even our happiness because of that bitchy divine. I'll even sacrifice my life to kill her." Rhea said with a ruthless gaze.

"You don't have to sacrifice anything. I'll take care of Sasha. Meanwhile, you guys do your best to take care of the Griffon Family and the Mages from the Iron Tower." Charles paused for a moment and soon added.

"And be careful of Archmage Marcus. He is still alive and scheming something behind."

As Charles spoke, he manipulated the wisdom power and started hovering in the air.

Runeth, Jessie, and others also hovered in the air and hurriedly followed him toward the Griffon Territory.

...

Underground Basement, Iron Tower, City of Iron.

At that particular moment, an elderly man with white hair, estimated to be around 80 years old, positioned himself in front of the entrance to a dimly lit underground chamber. His gaze was fixed upon an unsettlingly mysterious book, enveloped in an eerie black cover, which rested upon a weathered wooden table before him.

The man's facial features were distinctive, characterized by a square-shaped face, an aquiline nose, piercing azure eyes, and lengthy eyebrows that added a sense of gravity to his countenance. His attire consisted of a grey robe draped over his aging form, and in his left hand, he clutched a peculiar crystal, its enigmatic nature evident from its unique appearance.

He was none other than Marcus Griffon!

Twenty years ago, he had almost lost his body and ended up in a critical situation. If not for the appearance of a mysterious lady named Sasha, he would've died that day and become a part of history.

But he returned from death thanks to the mysterious lady Sasha resurrecting him and even attaching the soul link to his physical body.

Although he had to sign a slave-like abyssal contract with that woman, he never regretted it.

Moreover, he benefited a lot from this agreement.

'I became a Legend Rank powerhouse!' Although he was still a Rank-5 [Reality Warper] in the Main Class, his anomaly Sub-Class had made a significant breakthrough.

'I can control souls as my puppets through the strings and control them under my will. Also, my soul spells are also became much stronger. Even if a Grim Reaper appears before me, I won't fear him.' A cold glint appeared in his eyes.

The crystal in his left hand suddenly vibrated and shone in a bright blue light.

"Oh? Lady Sasha is calling? Did something happen?" He muttered in confusion and activated the communication crystal.

A captivating vision materialized before him in the blink of an eye—a stunning depiction of a young woman. Yet, it wasn't a mere sight; it resembled more of a sophisticated projection as if conjured by some divine force.

This mysterious woman initiated the encounter with a profound gaze that seemed to penetrate his very soul. Swiftly surveying her surroundings, she gravitated towards a dark-covered book on a table. Her presence conveyed an aura of curiosity as if drawn by an unseen force emanating from the enigmatic tome.

"Red Prince's authority?" She asked.

The woman, appearing in her late twenties, possessed a striking countenance defined by long auburn locks that cascaded gracefully around her shoulders. Her azure eyes set closely together, conveying a depth of emotion that added to the moment's mystery. Faint eyebrows and an elongated nose framed her face with subtle elegance.

Her attire, a glorious blue gown adorned with an array of gems, exuded an otherworldly charm, accentuating her enchanting presence. She held a distinctive flute in her hand, its design hinting at an origin from realms beyond the ordinary.

"Lady Sasha!" Marcus instantly bowed his head and greeted her before adding.

"I also don't know much about this book, My Lady. I got it when killing a lady named Edith."

"Not interested to hear your story. Anyway, it's time for you to do your part. The time has come." She said, slowly averting her gaze from the mysterious book.

Sasha soon thought of something and added.

"Also, 'he' also came back from the death and looks more powerful. I won't be able to help you this time. Try your best to kill those four brats and obtain the Legacy for me. Meanwhile, I'll settle score with Charles once and for all."
