Chapter 113 Serious People
Zayne headed towards the place where the most important person to him was, despite all the events, the goal of saving Mia, for Zayne always came first.
'Hmm...? Is today some kind of special day? Zayne inwardly muttered in confusion, looking at the multitude of people in formal suits.
Tall, muscular-looking men stood outside the walls of the hospital. Each of them wore a black suit with sunglasses that concealed their stern looks.
Zayne had only seen something like this in movies. He didn't know if some important person had visited the hospital, but it was an unusual view.
'Well, though it's strange, it's none of my business at all. I need to see Mia and get back to Fallen Fate as soon as possible.' Zayne pondered, scratching the back of his head before heading forward.
None of the bodyguards turned, they just stared ahead, but once Zayne was in front of the passageway two of them blocked his path.
"Hmm...? Is something wrong?" Zayne tilted his head with a slight frown.
The bodyguards looked at each other, then they simultaneously bowed low and exclaimed, "Mr. Zayne! Please follow us!"
Zayne's eyes went wide. No one had ever bowed before him in the real world before, so for a while he was puzzled, then he nodded, he had no reason to refuse anyway.
Zayne didn't know what was going on, but the two bodyguards led him to his sister's room, which made him a little worried.
'Has something happened to Mia...? Although... Why these people are here still doesn't explain it.' Zayne looked at the broad backs of the bodyguards, who were almost as tall as Geir.
Upon reaching the door, the bodyguards stood beside it and respectfully said, "Mr. Zayne, come inside, Mr. Galahan is waiting for you."
'Mr. Galahan... Who the hell is this...? More importantly, what does he want from me?' Zayne was puzzled as it was obvious that Galahan was a rich and powerful person.
Zayne shook his head and went inside. The first thing he saw was a man looking out the window and smoking a massive cigar, he was doing his best to keep the smoke out and was quickly blown away by the wind outside the hospital.
Crackle.
The door closed as the man flinched slightly, then a slight smile appeared on his face, and he muttered, "Well, well, I finally caught you." Galahan calmly said with a hard tone.
"You are Mr. Galahan...?" Zayne asked.
The man threw away his cigar, swept away the smoke with a wave of his hand, and turned around. Galahan wore an expensive suit, with a gold watch on his wrist and several jeweled rings. He adjusted his tie and his green eyes looked intently at Zayne.
"Yeah, you know, the last time I waited this long for someone was a few years ago. It makes me nostalgic, too." Galahan smirked as he slipped his hands into his pocket.
Zayne glanced at Mia, and his gaze darkened. His expectations were not destined to come true as Mia's eyes were closed.
"Oh, don't worry about it, she should wake up soon." Galahan looked at Mia, "Your sister is a very beautiful girl. I'm sure when she gets older, a lot of modeling agencies will be interested in her."
Zayne frowned, "What do you mean?"
Galahan smirked, took a deep breath, and pointed to the black case on the chair.
"Open it, you'll see for yourself."
Zayne was slightly annoyed, but he did as Galahan said, and his eyes went wide.
"Isn't that..." Zayne muttered in disbelief.
"Yeah. Consider it my gift to you." Galahan crossed his arms over his chest, grinning widely and showing his shiny white teeth.
The case contained nineteen syringes of pink liquid, one box already empty. Zayne wasn't a doctor, but it took him a moment to realize what it was.
"Wait... If that's what I think... It all cost you 15,000 credits, didn't it?" Zayne looked at Galahan with a dazed expression.
"Khm, a little more since I ordered the best on the market, anyway, like I said it's a gift, you don't have to worry about it." Galahan waved his hand as if it meant nothing to him.
Zayne nodded, closed the case, and looked intently at Galahan, "There's only free cheese in a mousetrap, isn't there? I understand that clearly. I'm grateful to you for this, the medicine is really what I needed, or rather my sister... What do you want in return?"
Galahan grinned, "Heh, you're a smart guy, I like that. Apparently, you don't know who I am, so I should introduce myself. My name is Galahan Rad, and I'm the owner of the Platinum Post. We started out as a simple newspaper, but today, I'm one of the most influential people in the media industry."
Zayne stared at Galahan for a long moment, blinking, then his mouth dropped open, "Agh... Right... You seem to get the news out sometimes, right?"
"Hahahahahaha!" Galahan laughed, "News? Yeah, of course, we do that too, reports, interviews, and even investigations looking for breaking news, that's what we do!"
Zayne was speechless, considering how poor he had lived all his life, it was hard for him to even imagine how high up Galahan was. It was simply beyond the comprehension of the average young man.
"Hey, why aren't you talking, is something wrong?" Galahan spoke in a cheerful tone.
Zayne scratched the back of his head, "Platinum Post... Don't you usually interview celebrities or owners of corporations too?"
"Yeah, you're right, and I have to tell you that you're the first person I've met personally in years." Galahan smirked, "After all, I've been a businessman, not a journalist for a long time."
"Wait... You were the one who sent me the letters back then..." Zayne muttered as he realized this.
"Agh, so you did see them and said no. Honestly, it even hurt a little, but it turned out to be the right decision for you since I'm ready to offer you more now." Galahan smirked and said confidently, "What I want is for you to do an interview with the Platinum Post! Today!"
