258 I Can Call You Big Brother, Right? 3
Not only did Qin Jiran give him a complete set of his books, each edition signed by him, the author also invited him to have dinner with them. Now, he didn't have to cry in the corner for missing the chance to get one of his books months ago.
"Ah, I'm sorry I couldn't cook anything special today. I was a little under the weather earlier." Feng Tianyi apologized to Tang Beixuan. He wanted to imprint a good impression on Tang Moyu's siblings, but he was sleeping earlier when her brother arrived for a visit. "Also, Moyu didn't mention anything about you coming for a visit."
Tang Beixuan waved a hand, dismissing the devil's apology.
"Ah, it's my fault, Bro. Since you are dating my sister, I can call you big brother, right?" Tang Beixuan's eyes sparkled as he fawned over his new brother-in-law.
Qin Jiran definitely looked better than that butt face Feng Tianhua who made his sister cry! If he wasn't busy with his studies abroad, he would have come home and beat the shit out of that trash for making his Moyu Jie cry!
"Sure. Whatever you like, Beixuan." The devil grinned, liking how Tang Moyu's little brother accepted him in their small family.
"I thought you won't be coming home until next month?" Tang Moyu said as she placed the meat she had finished cutting on her daughter's plate, which Little Star eagerly ate with glee. She and her Yu Gege had been playing nonstop the whole afternoon and were starving.
Tang Beixuan shrugged before dipping his grilled meat in the sauce.
"Wan Jie came to me two weeks ago and told me what happened. She begged me to come here as soon as I can to help you." His voice then turned serious this time, the playfulness in his face vanished as he remembered what kind of suffering his sister had experienced inHan Shaohui's hands.
If his Moyu Jie hadn't beaten that bastard, he would surely have done it himself. Why did their mother allow his sister to marry such a horrible man anyway?
None of his sisters, or any other person for that matter, deserved to be treated that way. What Han Shaohui did to his Wan Jie was inhumane and shouldn't be tolerated by anyone.
"There's no need for you to get involved, Beixuan. I can manage." Tang Moyu said and gave him a pointed look. "You better make sure you've already graduated from Princeton before coming here!"
"I did! You don't have to nag me anymore, Sis! You can call Wan Jie yourself to confirm it. She was there during the ceremony." Tang Beixuan then turned pitifully to Feng Tianyi. "See how strict my Moyu Jie is on me, Big Bro? She's really too much sometimes."
The eldest, Tang Wanyu was meek and gentle. She's also soft-spoken and well mannered. Then there's Tang Moyu, the empress. Cold and decisive. She knew what she wanted and always found a way to get it. Then Tang Beixuan, the only son among the three siblings. He had a jolly and outgoing personality, completely in contrast to his sisters.
"That's because you keep on ditching your classes. If I didn't find out that you sneaked out to come home, I wouldn't have known that you had to repeat another semester! Were you forgetting that you promised me not to come home until you were done with your studies?" Tang Moyu defended herself. If her little brother was a puppy, he would have pinned his ears down from being scolded by her.
"Now, now, Moyu. Calm down. You don't have to scold your brother. Didn't he say he already graduated? It's already admirable that he managed to complete it without you fawning over him for the past few months."
Tang Beixuan's ears perked up once he heard his new favorite brother defending him against his strict sister. If he was a puppy, he would have wagged his tail to the devil, not realizing who it was.
Ah, having a big brother was really nice! As much as he loved his sisters, Tang Beixuan couldn't help but get tired of their nagging. Not only did he have a popular author as a brother-in-law, he was really good at cooking and keeping his Sister Moyu at bay.
Tang Moyu scoffed but didn't say anything. She glared at her younger brother, who was currently throwing praises to the devil. Wasn't her brother too shameless right now?
Their dinner was filled with laughter and conversation. Tang Beixuan then found out how his sister met Qin Jiran through her little buns and why he was bound to the wheelchair when he saw him earlier.
"So you've already started your therapy sessions?" He asked Qin Jiran, who passed a plate of pudding to him, much to Tang Beixuan's delight.
"En. I can stand up and walk a few meters right now, but I have to be careful not to push myself too hard." Feng Tianyi said.
Tang Beixuan nodded and watched how his niece and his nephew devoured their pudding without preamble. They remind him of his Moyu Jie when they were younger. The only time he managed to see a genuine expression on his sister's face was when she was eating sweets or desserts after meals.
"Beixuan, where are you staying, right now? Did you give 'mother' a call about your return?" Tang Moyu chimed in, trying to interrogate her brother again.
"No, so do you mind if I stay here for the meantime?" Tang Beixuan grinned back.
