Chapter 795:- Give and Take
Chapter 795:- Give and Take
"Now and then, master wakes me up to fulfill his Orders. And this time, I was awakened to Bring the Dragon Monarch to my master, dead or alive."
"Since 99% of my time, I am sleeping in a container, I have no idea how much the world has changed."
"Besides, I don't have a strong connection to my clan." "Once I became a Hero, I stopped caring about my clan. I just spent my days fighting Demons. Even in this new Era, I am still the same. For me, there is nothing else to enjoy other than fighting."
"I did not even bother to look for my clan or any of the fellow Heroes I was friends with. I just lived my life. Besides, Boss had told me to keep my identity a secret. So even if I did go out, I never revealed my identity."
"So what happened to my clan?" Robert asked in a calm tone. "After you died, a few other Heroes from your clan also died. I heard there was a Demon General that was specifically targeting your clan." "Now, hearing your story, I strongly suspect that this Demon General was the one you fought." "It's possible."Knowing that he was indirectly responsible for the demise of his entire clan, Robert felt nothing. There was no guilt or anger in his heart.
"Now, to answer your 3rd question. The boss told me that the Demon Invasion had ended. He gave briefly told me everything. But I guess, since my clan's demise was insignificant, Boss did not tell me about it." To him, it wasn't a big deal. "Now, Charles, it's time for you to answer my question." Charles nodded.
Although he was shocked to hear that such a powerful man existed in this world, he stopped thinking about it. Right now, what matters the most is the Dragon Monarch.
"This is going to be a long story." Charles was going to tell Aditya's entire history. "I have time. I want to execute my mission perfectly, so I want every detail about him." Charles nodded. For the next few hours, Charles kept talking. "Do you have any questions?" Charles asked. "If this man was born during the Demon Invasion, our fight would have become much easier." After learning his story, Robert has nothing but respect for this man. "It's a shame that I would need to kill someone like him."
"Are you hesitating?" Charles asked in a worried tone, worried that Robert might change his mind. "Of course not!!! There is no hesitation in my mind. I will capture him and bring him back to my master." Robert wasn't going to disobey his master. "How are you so certain that you will be able to defeat him?" Charles still wasn't sure that Robert could defeat that man. "If it was the past me from the Ages of Cruelty Era, I might have failed, but now my powers have increased even more. In front of Divine Dragons, I am unstoppable." Robert had a very confident look on his face. Sigh....!!!
Charles sighed, seeing Robert so confident. Yes, he was one of the powerful Heroes from the past, but Aditya was on a whole new level. The frightening thing was that no one had seen the limit of the Dragon Monarch until now.
'There were even rumors that a few months back, he fought a 6th-order cultivator in the Southern Region of the Dying Isle Continent. Initially, I did not take these rumors seriously. But nowadays, I am beginning to think some of these rumors might be true.'
'After all, there won't be smoke without fire.' The only reason Charles did not tell Robert about it was because even he wasn't sure if the information was 100% true. "Robert, every man who challenges the Dragon Monarch has that confident look like yours. But at times, they always fell short in front of him." "Charles, if you're so worried, we can sign a Soul Contract." Charles was surprised to hear this. He didn't think Robert would ask to sign a Soul Contract. "I am proposing signing this Soul Contract because I want to give you the assurance that I can take the Dragon Monarch down. If you agree, it will assure me that you won't do anything shady behind my back." Robert wasn't an idiot to trust Charles just after they met. And from their conversation, Robert now understood what kind of man Charles was. Simply put, Charles was more dangerous than the Dragon Monarch. At least the Dragon Monarch wasn't as cunning and sly as this man. This man was a snake. There is no telling what he might do. So the Soul Binding Contract will restrain him. Charles did not mind Robert's words. It was normal for Robert not to trust him. It had only been a few hours since they had met. "Alright!! Let's Sign a Soul Binding Contract." "But Let's do it tomorrow. Would you mind answering a few more questions for me?" "What do you want to ask?" "You are already so powerful. Why come to me? Why not just head to the Istarin Empire, defeat Aditya, and then take him away?" Charles has been curious about this question. "First of all, from what you told me, Aditya is nearly unbeatable in his Dragon Palace. It would be very stupid of me to challenge him to his Dragon Palace."
"If I recklessly head to the Capital, aside from fighting him, I would also need to face many obstacles. It would be like fighting against an entire Empire. This would put me at a disadvantage." "But if we can wage war against him, we can bring him to the battlefield. As you said, the Emperor has been involved in almost every war. He always came to the battlefield to take lead of his army. This would be the perfect time to fight him."
"Your master surely should be able to draw Aditya out of the Istarin Empire using various means, such as waging wars or causing destruction outside the Empire's borders. So why come to me?" "I don't have a solid answer to your question. But tell me what you what I think." Charles nodded to that. "I was ordered to come and find you. I was told that the Dune Sovereignty wanted to conquer the Istarin Empire." "So I came here!!" "I don't think my master is interested in any part of the Six Continents. If he were interested, then he would have given me more instructions. We can work together since we both want to eliminate the Dragon Monarch for our reasons." Nôv(el)B\\jnn
"Working with you will make my job much easier."
"Then, I would love to work with you." Charles and Robert smiled at each other while shaking hands. "Now, I am becoming very curious about your master." Charles wanted to know more about this master. "It's better if you don't become too curious."
"The closer you get to the sun, the brighter the light coming from the sun will become. You will become blind if you stare too much at it." Robert indirectly advises Charles not to think much about his master. His Master was something that Charles won't be able to bear. But to Charles, his words were like an indirect threat. He did not like these words at all. Charles did not like their relationship dynamic. He felt that he was being ordered or Robert was above him. The prideful Emperor of the Dune Sovereignty did not like being looked down upon. He wanted to stay at the top and look down on others. 'Just give me a few thousand more years, then even your Master will speak to me softly.' Charles was confident that he would catch up to all the big shots in the Main Continent in a few thousand years. In front of a man of power, everyone has to use a soft tone to speak to him. Everyone has to be respectful and mindful of their words. This is the feeling that Charles loved the most. It showed that he was above them. This is the reason why Charles never went to the Main Continent. Charles was too prideful to become a discipline of a Sect or work for somebody. For years, he has sent his capable subordinates to try and establish a Sect or Faction. Once his subordinates have established themselves on the Main Continent, Charles can cultivate without relying on anybody.
But things were harder than he imagined. His men hadn't seen any success in the last seven centuries. Whenever his men came close to achieving some kind of success, they always fell short. Although Charles was frustrated, there was nothing that he could do about this situation. The whole situation might have been different if he was in the Main Continent. But he cannot leave the Six Continents for now. 'And with what my idiotic son did, I don't think I could go to the Main Continent for another 700 to 800 years.'
