Chapter 138 It worked.
Mykel was staying in the living room in the dark with only the light from the TV that brightened the room. He was letting Elena sleep on his lap and everyone went back to their own place to sleep because they were dead not a long time ago.
Mykel was also tired because he had given all his life energy to Elena, and he hadn't recovered from it. He couldn't keep his eyes open as time passed by and ended up sleeping with his left hand on Elena's cheek.
Once he got all his energy back, he was no longer tired and sleepy, and when he opened his eyes, he couldn't move his body. He looked around and saw Elena was still asleep on his lap with a blanket covering her lower body, but there was Lyneth who was asleep on his shoulder with a blanket covering her body, and little Sasha sleeping on her lap.
He let them rest, and when he turned on the TV, a news reporter appeared on the screen. He read the headline and saw that Europe had taken care of the demons in just a single night. That made him curious and when the news reporter pointed at the street, Mykel saw a group of people come back after fighting demons.
"Nomad heroes," Mykel read in the title.
Mysterious Chosen Ones had appeared and saved Europe from the demons. The European Union hadn't confirmed who those people were, and they wanted to know who their saviors were.
There were twenty of them, and nobody knew who those people were, and how the fact those twenty people were unharmed was really a surprise. Each one of them had weapons in their hands, and those weren't weapons that Gods had given to them because they looked vile and evil.
Mykel had suspicions about those twenty people and thought they might be Dukes of Hell that came out of hell. The real Dukes of Hell, unlike Agares and the others who were summoned and got their powers limited.
"(You know anything about them?)" Mykel asked Loki.
"(Of course. I thought it was you who came out of the portal, but when they started to kill the demons with just the snap of their fingers, those weren't your team)" Loki answered. "(If you don't know who those people are, I wonder why they all came out of the portal)" Loki said.
"(Are they strong?)" Mykel asked.
"(Strong enough to kill us Gods of Earth)" Loki answered. "(What did you do, Mykel? What did you bring to Earth?)" Loki asked with curiosity.
"(I opened the path for demons from hell)" Mykel answered as he watched the news. "(If you say that they're strong enough to kill you, that means they must be Dukes of Hell and Princes of Hell)" Mykel pointed out.
"(It appears you made a hard decision down there)" Loki said.
"(It was, but seeing how they decided to help humankind is really surprising,)" Mykel replied as he watched the reporter try to get close to those twenty people. "(Since they're here, I know where they're heading to)" Mykel said and turned off the TV since he had heard enough. Enjoy new chapters from empire
Lyneth was awoken by the silence and realized it was morning already and the sun was about to rise. She looked at Mykel who stared blankly at the TV, and then looked at Elena who was still asleep on his lap.
"Good morning..." Lyneth said as she rubbed her face on Mykel's shoulder and yawned. "I heard that you brought Luciel back. I didn't know about it until Beldathiel suddenly jolted from the bed and it startled me," Lyneth added as she gently caressed little Sasha to wake her up.
"Yes, but we added a new problem because of that," Mykel answered as he caressed Elena's head.
Mykel explained to Lyneth who didn't know anything, and after she heard what was going on, she turned on the news and checked it herself. She was surprised that Europe had survived and that they were the second ones to survive the invasion. The first one was Australia because of the Virtue Guild and their amazing feat of working together with the Redshield Guild.
"So those people are Dukes of Hell and some of them are the Princes of Hell?" Lyneth asked as she pointed the remote at the faces that the cameras captured.
"Perhaps, and who knows how many of them actually are. This might be the only ones we know, and perhaps there will be more of them in the future since the layers have been broken," Mykel answered as he nodded his head. "Loki knows that something is wrong with them, and I think all the other Gods know about it as well, about the demons that came out of the portal," Mykel added.
"Anyway, I have to go, and Elena might be sleeping for a few days because she used everything to save Luciel," Mykel said as he carried Elena in his arms. "I'm going to leave after I take a shower. Want to join me?" Mykel asked as he looked at Lyneth.
"Why would I say no to that," Lyneth chuckled and carefully let little Sasha go to sleep a bit more.
Mykel warped to Earth inside the novel and requested Amaryllis to send one of her clones to meet him there. When Amaryllis came, she brought all fourteen objects with her and then put them down on the ground.
"Why here out of all the places?" Amaryllis asked as she looked at the whole place was a wasteland and nothing could live there, not even insects.
"We need a lab rat, and we have one in here," Mykel answered as he looked at all the objects. "Can you locate where he is?" Mykel asked.Nôv(el)B\\jnn
"He's somewhere in that direction, he's in a very poor condition," Amaryllis answered as she pointed to the east.
Mykel and Amaryllis flew to where Asmond was, and when they arrived, Mykel almost couldn't see him since Asmond blended in with the soil. He was so skinny that he looked like he had lost all the flesh and fat inside his body. He was like a twig, and he couldn't even move his body anymore because of how weak he was.
"He has been eating his own flesh and skin to satiate his hunger," Amaryllis said as she looked down at Asmond. "He's only awake a few minutes each day to reserve the food inside his stomach. And he's too weak to wake up even if we talk very loudly," Amaryllis added.
"Let's start then," Mykel paused as he removed his suit and rolled his sleeves. "Give me all the Deadly Sins skills," Mykel continued.
Mykel looked at all the notifications of him getting [Pride], [Greed], [Sloth], [Wrath], [Gluttony], [Envy], and [Lust] skills. He could feel the change inside his body, and how his mind started to think about indecent things when he looked at Amaryllis. He looked down at Asmond and he wanted to crush his body over and over until he cried and begged for forgiveness. It was so powerful that he was affected by all of them, and it was exactly as Amaryllis said.
"You're okay?" Amaryllis asked.
"Just give me the objects that resonate with the emotions," Mykel said.
Amaryllis guided Mykel on which emotion he should feel and imagine, and it worked as Amaryllis expected. She then gave another one until all seven emotions had been sealed inside the objects. Mykel lost all the emotions because of that, and he had to take all the seven emotions again to fill the remaining seven which were the duplicates of the objects that had been filled.
"All the emotions have been sealed inside, but I wonder if they would work on him because he's not a real being," Amaryllis said.
"They're my emotions, so I think it should work. Just try to give him the Gluttony emotion," Mykel said as he looked at Asmond.
Amaryllis grabbed the pyramid one and then released the emotion by opening it. The emotion was like a black mist and it entered Asmond's body through his nose and ears. In an instant, he woke up and felt the hunger intensify which made him unable to hold his hunger anymore.
Asmond looked at his hand and ripped his skin and started eating the shrunk muscle and flesh inside. He didn't even realize there was someone around him, and then when he felt the sun didn't blind him, he looked up and saw Mykel watching him.
"M-Myk-el..." Asmond struggled to speak since he hadn't opened his mouth for a hundred years.
"Looks like it works," Mykel said as he looked at Amaryllis. "Let's leave and start the experiment," Mykel continued.
Amaryllis nodded and warped away with Mykel, leaving Asmond with [Gluttony] skill inside him that made him unable to sleep because of the hunger.
